Should I be concerned about RST verification errors?

I have a RAID 10 array on my DP55WG.  I am running Rapid Storage Technology in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.  I've gotten into the habit of doing a Verify every few days because of some problems I was having.  I always come up with 0 blocks with media errors, and I know that’s good, but I also always come up with a fistful (20 to 60) of verification errors.  Almost all (or perhaps all) of them are in the first 10% of the verification process.   Is this something I should worry about?

Neither the user’s interface nor the help file tells us much about what is going on.  It may be normal to get this number of errors.  Perhaps they are tabulated, but always corrected by ECC.  I’m hoping someone more informed than me will weigh in.  If it is something to worry about, what can I do?

DZ77GA-70K board wont turn on, 3 beep error code 20

Hi All,

I have a problem...Ive had this board for a couple years now and its worked perfectly on the lastest bios.  Recently I installed a 3 pin fan to the rear and aux fan header on the motherboard and the cpu wont turn on and its giving me the 3 beep and error code 20.  I took out the 2 fans from the header and everything is back to normal.  I looked in the bios and the fans are set to Auto for both headers.

Can this board work with 3 pin fans? if so how? what do I have to change in the bios to get this to work?

Thanks

DZ87KLT-75K BIOS UPDATE for Upcoming 5th Gen CPU Broadwell ? & Windows 10 Driver Support?

It's all over the internet that Broadwell will be launching some time in June of this year and it will reportedly launch only two 1150 CPUs all Unlocked namely Core i7-5775C and the Core i5-5675C this are 14nm parts.

Both the i7-5775C and the i5-5675C are quad-core parts, with TDP rated as low as 65W. The i7-5775C offers clock speeds of 3.30 GHz, with 3.70 GHz Turbo Boost, while the i5-5675C offers 3.10 GHz, with 3.60 GHz Turbo Boost. The i7-5775C comes with just 6 MB of L3 cache, while the i5-5675C offers just 4 MB of it. The i7-5775C offers HyperThreading, letting the OS address eight logical CPUs, while the i5-5675C lacks it. Both chips feature Intel's Iris Pro 6200 series integrated graphics, and feature dual-channel DDR3L-1600 memory support.

This will be good for the DZ87KLT-75K as its the last Intel Desktop Board plus the above mentioned CPUs will be the last of 1150 socket, If Intel could spare some time and update the DZ87KLT-75K's BIOS to at list support the Broadwell 14nm. Intel refused to support Haswell Refresh as far as we've seen. Maybe Since broadwell seems to make much of an upgrade sense in terms of power consumption and optical shrink it would be nice to have support for the upcoming two chips.

Windows 10

I hope we will not be left behind support wise in regards to Windows 10 drivers for DZ87KLT-75K when the operating system launches its the next big thing coming out and supports DX12, Intel please consider.

my board dq77mk. windows will not boot if i have a external harddrive plugged in. i believe board to be suspect? help?

I have a intel dq77mk and for over a year now iv not been able to boot windows if I have my external harddrive plugged in. the drive is fine but the pc wont boot with any external drive in. I did a google search for fixes and tried all the suggestions iv found like usb legacy and boot orders but nothing works. im thinking of getting a new board but would like to try here first.

DH87MC Doesn't Boot with External USB Drives Connected

It seems as if this board DH87MC has difficulty dealing with the boot process if external USB drives are plugged in.  I have a mix of USB 2.0 and 3.0 external drives connected to a rear USB 2.0 port of the board.  The computer will get to the INTEL post screen (but without showing any function options eg. F2) then will "shut down" and come back up to the same screen.  Essentially it is an endless loop.  I can boot fine if I disconnect these drives and then plug them in after the boot process is complete.  However, this is not a solution because the rear ports are not easily accessible.

The board also seems to have a difficult time recognizing USB 2.0 flash drives when connected to USB 3.0 ports on the board (either through the rear USB 3.0 ports or USB 3.0 ports via the header on the board).  In some cases, the computer will crash when using the USB 2.0 flash drives plugged in to the these USB 3.0 ports.

I'm am hoping that a future BIOS update will fix these issues.

Updated info:  The most recent BIOS is installed and makes no difference.  Also, boot from USB devices is turned off in the BIOS.

Best Ram for intel DZ87KLT-75K ?

Hello

I would ask about the best tested ram memory with 32 gb for intel DZ87KLT-75K. I have seen the wib site page from intel that shows

the tested ram for DZ87KLT-75K but there is no 32 gb ram collection. If any one try 32 gb with this board please tell me ur advice.

Best Regards,

SRT / RST on DZ68BC with larger than 64GB SSD

I have a spare 80GB Intel SSD that I am playing with. One of the nice Intel people here gave me the latest RST release, v.13.x. I thought that an 80GB drive would be okay because the extra space would be over-over-provisioning. But I cannot make it work. I first tried to create an extra partition with the extra space, but RST always deletes it when I accelerate the OS drive. Then I looked through the RST GUI hoping to find a delete option, but I could not find it. Then I looked at the RAID DOS GUI which displays right after BIOS, using cntl-i, but there does not appear to be a way to delete that data stripe. I think I already know the answer (NO!), but is there a way to delete the data storage stripe and only have the cache area on the SSD? I'm not doing any other RAID stuff on this PC, just the cache.

kp223c-eld work with dp45sg

I bought a second hand Intel dp45sg and having problems finding the right RAM modules.

Never realised the board would be so dang stubborn, so am stuck with 4 wrong modules that only match in speed and size (1333Mhz 2GB PC3-10600).

Found a nice buy, but would it be compatible if anyone knows. Its not a KVR, but...

kp223c-eld

Its all i could find on the kingston modules.

If anyone can tell me asap please :)

DH87RL not recovering BIOS

Good day all at Intel Support.

I bought a DH87RL a while ago, had Windows 7 installed, and it stopped working after a while.

The board was just replaced (thank you Intel).

Now the new board is giving me grief.

I wish to install Windows 8.1 UEFI onto an SSD that I know works with RAM that I know works.

When I first installed the board, I got into the VisualBIOS and set some things.

Then I switched the onboard display to be Always Disabled and always use PCiExpress card.

I also set it to boot UEFI, disabled legacy boot.

QuickStart and SafeBOot are disabled.

BIOS version is original (0320).

Next boot, 'No video' beeps.

Followed instructions for resetting BIOS ~ nothing.

Followed instructions for recovering BIOS ~ nothing.

Played with several different memory sticks and their file systems for recovery ~ nothing.

So far the best result:

- 8GB flash drive with 2GB partition formatted as FAT16.

- BIOS version 324 .bio file on flash drive

- 1x 8GB RAM DDR3-1600 stick (that works)

- BIOS jumper removed (as per instructions)

- no PCiE card, only onboard

When I start the machine, I get to the BIOS splash screen, select F7, select the device, select the .bio file.

BIOS 1.jpg

Then the system reboots and - - - nothing happens.

I have left it on for 30+ minutes in this state, and nothing.

It is in that state right now, going on 24 minutes.

I have tried every conceivable method to clear BIOS settings.

Nothing.

How do I recover or upgrade the BIOS so I can get into it again and use different settings?

DH87MC impossible to remove supervisor password

I forgot my supervisor password on an Intel DH87MC with Core i7 4770.

According to the users manual, setting the BIOS security jumper to:

1 & 2 = Normal Mode

2 & 3 = Lockdown Mode

None = Configuration Mode

In Configuration Mode, I'm supposed to select [2] to clear the passwords.

But when I remove the jumper and power up in Configuration Mode, the system doesn't POST at all.

The power LED turns on, the fans spin, but there is no display.

I have an nVidia card (new GTX970) so I tried moving the DVI cable to the 2nd port on the nVidia card - still no POST/Display

I tried moving the DVI cable to the onboard Intel HD graphics port - still no POST/Display.

I disconnected all USB devices thinking it's trying to load a BIOS ROM from a USB flash drive - still no POST/Display.

I disconnected the SATA PCI Card - still no POST/Display.

I tried updating the BIOS to the latest MCH8710H.86A.0162.EB.EXE - still no POST/Display.

I tried holding down the power button, it powered up, turned off, and then powered up to the Power Button menu, but that wasn't much help.

I tried Lockdown Mode, everything is indeed in Lockdown Mode. Can't enter the BIOS.

Things I haven't tried, but I doubt it would make much difference:

/ Removing the CMOS battery for 1 hour (apparently this doesn't affect the passwords)

/ Disconnecting the HDD's and Sound card and nVidia card (wouldn't imagine these would make a difference)

What am I doing wrong?

HD 4600 HDMI audio problem

Hi There,

I have a Gigabyte GA-H87N-WIFI board, with an Intel Core i3 4340 processor (with HD 4600 graphics). My PC is set up as a home theatre PC, and I'm really struggling with audio issues that I hope someone can help with.

The issue: Turning off the amp and turning it on again (or unplugging the HDMI cable then re-connecting) leads to a loss of sound through HDMI. An error appears (with a yellow triangle/exclamation mark) against the High Definition Audio Device in Device Manager which would appear to be the cause of the problem. Rebooting the PC seems to be the only way to get sound back.

Troubleshooting so far:

  • I have tried a variety of drivers, and as of today I'm currently using the recently released Win64_15338 drivers.
  • I have tried plugging the PC directly into my TV (Sony Bravia). This improves matters slighty, as the TV can be put to sleep or have power removed, and the audio returns when it is turned on again. Unplugging the HDMI cable leads to the same problem though.
  • I have tried another HDMI cable, which has had no impact.

Many thanks!

Chris

Right Click on Desktop causes Delay because of igfxsrvc.exe

Hello,

the process igfxsrvc.exe is apparently part of the Intel Common User Interface and in use/started when I perform a right click on the desktop which causes an annoying delay of about 2 seconds while opening the context menu.

What is that process for?

Can I disable it or is there another way to avoid the delay?
