DP67BG +R9 390 shows "0_" error in bottom right corner

I´ve recently upgraded my GPU from R7950(Sapphire) to new R9-390 (Gigabyte). I can get into BIOS but once Windows starts to boot it shows black screen and "0_" code in the bottom right corner of the screen. I hear how windows boot (opening windows theme music), but screen shows only "0_" code. Also i´ve read forums here on intel website and many people have similar problem with Intel boards and Radeon 200 and 300 series (and some nVidia card also) so the problem have to be with Intel MBs and not GPU itself. I have latest BIOS (2209) released in 2012 !!!

My request is to update BIOS so it will support those new cards as this MB is still actual and 1150 CPUs are still in production.

My specs:

MB: Intel DP67BG (latest BIOS "2209" from 2012?!?)

CPU: i7-2600K

GPU: Gigabyte R9-390 8GB (non-gaming version clocked to 1000 MHz )

RAM: 4x2GB kingston HyperX 1600MHz

SSD - 74Gb Intel

HDD -WD 1,5Tb

PSU: Forton 700W

What is iCLS Client?

I have an HP laptop. I believe it has an Intel motherboard because it has a Management Engine device driver installed. In C:\Program Files\Intel there is a folder called iCLS Client. I never installed anything with iCLS in the name. In that folder is a text file called Third Party Licenses and it mentions OpenSSL toolkit. My desktop systems, all with Intel motherboards, do not have this iCLS folder. What is iCLS associated with?

DX48BT2 becomes very slow with 16GB RAM

Hi everyone,

I know that this is an old motherboard but I figured that I would ask the community for help anyway. I tried upgrading this little warrior to 16GB however although it boots just fine the system is extremely slow compared to its usual speed with only two DIMMs (8GB) in the blue slots. The Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool extended tests (Win7 Ultimate x64) do not find any error.

Single threaded performance is down only by 2% but multi-threaded performance is down by 32%! The overall boot time went from 40 sec to a whopping 5 min 35 sec!

It seems to be the same issue as reported here https://communities.intel.com/message/14531#14531 however that was back when 8GB was being installed using all the slots and the fix was a BIOS update which I can't really hope for now, can I? . I tried downgrading the BIOS by increments without any success from version 2006 down to version 1900 at which point the system wouldn't POST unless I replaced the memory with lower density DIMMs.

The system is configured as follow:

DX48BT2(B)

QX9770 @ stock multiplier & voltage

4 x 4GB Crucial Ballistix Elite BLE46301608DE1TX0 DDR3-1600 8-8-8-24 @ 1.9V

FSB @ 1.325V (+10%)

MCH @ 1.375V (+10%)

Apparently others successfully did it with other X48 motherboards http://www.overclock.net/t/1231879/x48-and-lga775-does-support-16gb-of-ram so it seems possible. However they don't say much about the end result as far as performance.

As a side note I have another totally identical system which also exhibit the same behavior.

I have two theories:

1. A RAM cacheability issue? Remember that the QX9770 is a dual dual-core so maybe 16GB is just too much for each dual-core packages' own 6MB of 24-way set associative L2 cache. I remember when the chipsets controlled the L2 cache they used to have a maximum amount of supported memory and a maximum amount of cacheable memory which meant that the system would be slower with too much RAM (ex. the i430TX which could support 256MB of memory but only cache 64MB) but nowadays Intel only report a maximum amount of supported memory. Unfortunately the processor datasheet does not specify anything about the maximum amount of cacheable memory.

2. A chipset memory prefetch buffer issue? The X48 chipset supports both DDR2 and DDR3 memory but Intel states that the maximum memory is 16GB for DDR2 and 8GB for DDR3. This could have been because at the time (2008) the memory density just didn't exist to put 16GB of DDR3 on a motherboard with only four slots however it could also be due to the fact that DDR2 only need a 4-bit prefetch buffer while DDR3 need an 8-bit prefetch buffer. If the chipset is limited in that aspect then I'm trying to address twice the amount of memory that the X48 prefetch buffer is designed to handle which slows it down considerably. Another theory that I cannot prove because the X48 datasheet does not mention anything about that.

In this particular case I'm only interested in understanding the issue and if at all possible, figuring out a way around it. I know very well that replacing the hardware would fix everything but that's beside the point. If there's any techie out there willing to give it a shot I would greatly appreciate.

Thank you!

hi I am presently running two laptops and one tablet on windows 10 with no problems, but my desktop with Intel Desktop Board DX79SR with a i7 3930K once I installed windows 10 is crashing all the time and I am not able to find any support for windows 10 on any intel websites. is anyone aving any problems with windows 10?

Which memory slots are the 1600 speed on the DX48BT2?

There seems to be conflicting information about the amount of 1600 speed ram and the correct slots to install it in. One Intel document says 4 gig of 1600 speed is supported, but another later document says only 2 gig is supported by the DX48BT2. If using a 2 gig stick, which slot does it go in? I have tried 4 different batches of ram, 2 dfferent brands and 1333 speed as well, in different configurations (slots) and quantity. It has been a year now and I still have freeze-ups regularly. Replacing the video card did not help. I am running the QX9770 Extreme processor. Nothing is overclocked.

Problem with DX58SO

Sorry for the bad English, but had to use google translator.

Hello.

Please, I would like your help.

I have a DX58SO and i7 920. The board always worked perfectly (for 4 years) and never had any problem. Recently I decided to reinstall Windows 7 and went to upgrade drivers. I took and decided to upgrade the BIOS. I downloaded the latest version - SOX5810J.86A (exe) and was told that he should shutdown the Windows to restart the computer.

After restarting the system, the upgrade procedure began. When he got "Updating firmware ID" was the message "Failed". I waited 30 minutes and when nothing happened, I turned off the computer.

After that the board simply does not start. The computer turns on, is approximately 7 seconds and restarts. And so is all the time.

I decided to do the BIOS recovery procedure. I saved the file "SO5600P.bio" on a CD, removed the jumper "Bios Setup" and turned on the computer. I know he read the contents of the CD because the CD reading light was blinking for about 20 seconds (without the cd flashes for up to 5). Nothing appears on the screen. The computer doing this procedure for about 20 minutes and nothing happened.

I turned off the computer again, put the jumper in position 2-3, the procedure in "Desktop Boards - Instructions for updating the BIOS recovery" and turned on the computer without the CD.

Again nothing happened and was not displayed anything on the screen.

This procedure was done with Kingston memory 2 GB 1333 in the first memory slot (farther from the black slot) and with only the CD player and the connected video card. All other components (HDDs) have been removed.

I tested it with other memories as well as with other video cards. Also tested other video cards in the second PCI-slot EX 16.

No LED lights or flashes red. Only the green LED is illuminated is the Power Led.

When I turn on the computer without the memories, the motherboard emits 3 beeps as it should.

I really need to get this repair plate because I have no money to buy another processor and motherboard and do not think another motherboard compatible with this processor available to buy.

Thank you for help and a great day everyone.

Olá.

Por favor, gostaria da ajuda de vocês.

Possuo uma DX58SO e um i7 920. A placa sempre funcionou perfeitamente (durante 4 anos) e nunca tive problema. Recentemente resolvi reinstalar o Windows 7 e fui fazer a atualização dos drivers. Aproveitei e resolvi fazer a atualização da BIOS.

O computador liga, fica aproximadamente 7 segundos ligada e reinicia. Fica assim o tempo inteiro.

MB DQ67SW with i5 wont power on

I have a Intel DQ67SW with i5 processor, was building system and getting battery and CMOS errors. Decided to reset to default. It asked me to change jumpers and reboot.

cannot find jumpers and now will not power up at all.

Stopped booting: how to approach?

dx58so mother board. It had been working, then, it stopped 'booting' - specifically, it shows the Intel screen, and F2 gets into  the CMOS setup, which behaves normally.  But, past that point, it just displays a blank screen with a blinking cursor. C-A-D still reboots it. The same occurs if trying to boot from HDD, USB, or CD. (Boot order changed appropriately.) CMOS setup shows all 3 devices recognized.

There are no beeps during boot, nor any error messages.

When the Intel screen is on, '5a' is displayed ('resetting devices', AIUI), followed briefly by 'E7' (waiting user input). Again, if I hit key F2 at that point, it enters CMOS setup; if not, the blank screen. No further messages appear.

As I tried different things since the initial failure, it would occasionally (rarely) boot all the way to Windows (7).  But, it would always revert to the behavior above.

I can offer more info/history, but I think it's mostly noise. Anyway, .

..

1. If there's an "All you've gotta do ...", that would be good.

2. Does the above behavior rule out particular failure mechanisms?  In particular, a POST fault? P/S failure?

3. I'd appreciate any links to procedures for attacking this

(I have looked at Desktop Boards — Troubleshooting System No Boot Issues  The options there seem inapplicable.)

4. For googling, would this be called "failure to boot", or is there a better name for it, given that it does get through Setup?

Thanks.

DH87MC startup issue solution?

$

Like many others, I have been plagued with startup issues (cold boot, restart, etc.) with no obvious solution.

I have a two-year old system based on the DH87MC (AAG74242-401) and an i5-4670K processor. I have a 4-disk RAID-10 array, a DVD drive, and 32 GB of RAM. The power supply is a Seasonic SS-660XP2, and it is on the approved Haswell list. No external graphics, and nothing at all in the PCI or PCIe slots. Running Windows 7-64 bit. No changes in hardware or configuration from the beginning, other than routine Windows updates. Still running the original 0047 BIOS since there was no need to upgrade.

This system has worked flawlessly from the beginning. I do not recall that it has ever crashed or failed in any way. However, over the past few months the startup, either cold or warm, has become sporadic. As noted by many others, when trying to start or restart the power goes on and off, the drive lights flash at times, and the red processor overheat light briefly illuminates. After a few tries everything takes off and works just fine until the next reboot. The problem has become worse and worse by the week.

I have gone through many of the suggestions found on this forum, such as removing the clock battery, playing games with memory slots, etc. Nothing makes any difference. I have reloaded the BIOS, reset to defaults, etc. with no obvious impact.

However, I just discovered a process that appears to work 100% in eliminating this problem. I left the BIOS security jumper off after the last BIOS recovery attempt, and the system boots up perfectly every time. I needed to respond to the screen after the BIOS recovery that I did not want that menu to appear again until the jumper was replaced. The system then boots up just like the good old days.

Obviously the jumper is there for a purpose. I suppose that removing it bypasses some internal checks, such as temperature or voltage limits, in order to have the best chance for system recovery.

So the question is: Will I harm the system by leaving the jumper off (configuration mode)?

I have an Intel desktop board model # D510MO. Board number is AAE76523-404. It's running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. I can't install sound drivers on it. The Intel driver update utility doesn't produce anything. I've downloaded the correct drivers from Intel download, but they don't work. It goes through the installation process, reboots, then there's no audio device installed. I've installed the chipset driver and updated the bios.

Hello,

I tried to update to Windows 10 with my DH87RL-Board. Sadly, the network adapter doesn't work with Win 10 (its shows: no connection available). It is the onboard I217-V ethernet adapter, I have the newest driver from 18.06.2015 (12.13.14.4). Does anybody know about a workaround? Would very much appreciate any hint!
