Intel DN2800MT big issue

$

Dear Intel Support Team

I've got issue with desktop mainboard Intel DN2800MT. PC has worked as NAS server (24h/7).
Once upon a time, my PC has not stated - diode is blinking when I trying to start and nothing else happens.

What have I tried to resolve this problem:
- Reset BIOS
- Run PC without DDR's
- Was tested with different DDR's
- Was tested with different power adapters

Power adapters are working fine with other of my Intel's mainboards - so i suppose that's not the problem.

BIOS von DH61BE updaten, da vermutlich Virusbefall

Hallo

Xaver

DH77DF bios update warnings/lessons

I have solved my bios problem (see below) but if any Intel personnel see this I hope the next version of bios for this board will support HDMI/1080 video CPU-based graphics.

For anyone else who may be interested:

After much trouble/research/trial and error I'd like to warn everyone to NOT use the Windows bios update procedure. Rather use the F7 on boot procedure if you want to update your bios. Also BIOS version 0107 does not seem to support HDMI 1080 video (connected to my plasma TV). I use CPU based video output and I have to connect an old DVI, 1024x768 resolution monitor to access the bios. Otherwise, pressing F2 just reboots my system.

Further after the Windows procedure failed and my bios was corrupted here is how I was FINALLY able to restore my bios.

I got most of this info from here so thanks to the original poster:

Re: DH77KC BIOS update killed my machine

Download the EARLIEST bios version (I used 0069) .BIO file and copy it all by itself to a FAT32 formatted USB flash drive.

Shut down your computer and disconnect the power cable.

Completely remove the jumper from the bios jumper block (see your manual). This puts the bios into recovery mode.

Disconnect the battery on the motherboard. I don't know how long but I waited about 15 minutes.

Disconnect ALL SATA drives from motherboard.

Reconnect the battery, put the USB flash in a USB2 slot. (Don't know for sure if that matters but it worked for me).

Connect to power and boot.

If your flash drives had a light it should light up and may flash. While my unit was flashing the bio the front power LED flashed. It takes quite a while--maybe up to 60 minutes. If any LEDs on your computer/board are flashing leave it alone.

After my power LED stopped flashing, I shut down my computer (it actually my have shut down by itself, I can't remember).

I removed the flash drive, disconnected the power, replaced the bios jumper to position 1-2, reconnected my SATA drives, reconnected the power and booted up. F2 sent me back to the bios!

Pertaining to my info in the first paragraph, the 0069 bios worked with my HDMI/TV connection. After that I DID upgrade to the 0107 bios using the F7 boot method with just the 0107 .BIO file on a flash drive but I have to connect an old monitor via DVI in order to access the with F2. Hopefully the next version of the bios will support HDMI/1080 resolution.

I have two motherboards of this model, one is coupled with the Intel Core i5 4570 and the other which was bought recently has been empty cause I could not find any processors that could be placed in this board, most processors which this motherboard supports were discontinued, now I found out Intel has not made a BIOS available to support newer processors, so what is left for me to do? Will Intel make an available BIOS in which will support at least the newer CPU's or will I have to just leave the motherboard stranded until I find a second hand processor?

vPro headless VNC

This doesn't work.  I have a Q170 chipset motherboard and i7-6700 CPU.  When I try to VNC remote control this AMT system after booting without a monitor attached, VNC will show a black screen and a few seconds later an error:

"Error 0x8086200: Unsupported or inactive display adapter"

Many others have reported this problem on various forums.  There are some mentions of editing OS bootloader options, however this doesn't solve.  vPro fails to show even the POST or BIOS pre-OS, so I fail to see how this will help.  My BIOS options are already set to IGFX and "Use Internal Graphics" and VNC remote control works fine when a monitor is attached at boot.  There is a company now selling a HDMI dongle:

http://www.fit-pc.com/web/products/fit-headless/

http://www.vfrank.org/2015/04/28/running-the-intel-nuc-headless-with-vmware-esxi/

which fools the motherboard into thinking there is a monitor attached.  But it should not be necessary to buy third-party workaround hardware to get this to work.  I can understand that the graphics hardware is being shut-down when no display is attached to save power.  However many people like me will want to use vPro systems with only power and network cables attached.

Intel's vPro chipsets should have a BIOS option: "vPro Headless": Enabled or Disabled (default).  At the default setting, the chipset power-saves when no display is detected.  When enabled, the graphics hardware is enabled regardless so headless VNC remote control is possible.

Many thanks.

Haswell Refresh & Intel 8-Series Motherboards: it's a shame.

Hi to all.
I think the title is explicit.

As most people knows, Intel 8-Series chipsets based Motherboards will work with Haswell Refresh CPUs, just a BIOS update is needed.

I know that future Broadwell chips won't work.

I decided to build a workstation using an Intel motherboard, DH87MC, with latest Core i7 4790 Haswell Refresh CPU. Clean 4790, not 4790K.

I preferred an Intel 8-series MB rather than an Asus/MSI/etc 9-series based 'cause I use Intel motherboard for years (the oldest build is an ancient AN430TX, for Pentium MMX).

I love Intel motherboard for its clean design, without useless 3rd party chips that causes only driver issues; honestly I'm sad about the decision by Intel to leave MB market.

I'm only a small italian OEM and I know I can't change Intel decisions, but INTEL WAKE UP!

you have the resources to update the BIOS to your MBs to support your latest Haswell Refresh CPUs.

PLEASE MAKE THIS BIOS UPDATE, Intel, you are the biggest IT Company and a lot of persons bought your MBs for years (like me).

let's make this update, to honor the trust we put in you.

Unable to clear CMOS settings

I have a problem with a DH77KC board (latest BIOS 0110) - I cannot clear CMOS settings.

When I press F9 in BIOS setup (maintenance mode) it asks me if I want to reset all settings to defaults. I click "Yes" and then the system hangs completely and I must do a hard reset after which settings are NOT reverted to defaults.

After that I removed the CMOS battery and left it out for ~12h (PSU power switch was OFF). I was pretty sure that would clear the settings for sure but it DID NOT. Only the clock got reset.

How do I clear CMOS settings completely on this board? Any ideas?

Hello My intel motherboard DP67BG will not boot after installing an AMD r9 380 card in either pcie slot.

If I put my old card back in the motherboard everything boots as normal (gtx 560 ti). I have tried multiple settings

in the bios, resetting the cmos... pretty much everything I can think of to get this new card to work

the specs of the system are core i5 3550 3.3 Ghz

                                            8GB RAM

                                           KINGSTON 120 GB SSD (sata)

samsung 500GB 9700 rpm hdd (sata)

                                           Intel DP67BG motherboard

                                           Version AAG10491-401

                                           BIOS - BGP6710J.86A.2209 (Latest)

                                           Windows 8 64 bit

The system displays the boot logo screen with the error code 5A and then jumps to a dark screen with 0_ in the lower right hand corner of the screen

DH87RL Desktop board > when drivers for Windows 10 pro 64bit

$

Like discribed in the tittle :

when will the drivers regards Windows 10 Pro 64bit come out for the DH87RL Desktop board ?

I was awaiting patiently from summertime,
but lately i get small errors from the on board graphics card.

So i start to worry that the system will get less stable

Also, i like to mention that After Every big Update in Windows the IDU driver is out of order, so i need to manualy install this one to get it running again.

This last thing just for info, maybe intel can solve this in a way for the future

Thx in advance !!

Already a Intel lover for years :-)

Christof

Problems with DH87RL and UEFI

Hello

I'm using the DH87RL Mainboard, and I just updated to the most recent BIOS version. Since then, the BIOS is only displayed in a small area at the middle of the monitor. The Edges are dark.

There is also no mouse support (The Mouse arrow doesn't move) but this happened before the update also.

The main problem now is, I need to install windows 7 x64 on a PCI SSD (Samsung MZHPV256HDGL via Delock 89370 Adapter) and therefor I have to install windows in UEFI Mode. This doesn't work.

I only see UEFI bootble devices, If the win dvd is in the tray. If I start the setup, the PC is starting over and displaying "press key to boot from dvd" only very short. Then, the "windos is loading files" appears, but either nothing happens and a error message "windows failed to start" appears - or win setup starts but in legacy mode. I see this when I want to choose an installation partition and win tells me that it can't install there.

I could install win and run it without problems in legacy mode. But that way I can't use the PCI SSD.

I know, I did install win in UEFI mode ast year (on a SATA SSD), because it was GPT when I wanted to reinstall. I just don't know, how I did it. The BIOS had full Mouse support, though.

Ananyone help me?

Thanks and BR,

Thorsten

I have an old motherboard (CQ45CB), and i am trying to figure out if the ram stick i am about to purchase is correct. May someone help me.

DH87RL pci express x16 slot compatible but x1 slots not compatible with my cards.

I have got intel DH87RL motherboard (latest bios 330) with 3 x  PCI-E-x1 slots and 1 x PCI-E x16 slot. Recently, I purchased two Startech usb adapter cards PCI-E x1. These cards work perfectly with x16 slot but when connected to x1 slot the computer will not boot, and will reboot constatnly without any visual nor beep feedback. It's even impossible to enter the bios. Please help me.

I need to use as many cards as possible so one card in pci-e x16 slot is not enough for me.

I get many crashes like these : iastora.sys seems to be the culprit. (Win8.1 Sony Vaio  SVE1712BCXB Bios R0170D6)

Bug check description: This indicates that a kernel-mode driver attempted to access pageable memory at a process IRQL that was too high.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: iastora.sys (Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver - x64, Intel Corporation).

I tried to update from 12.8.0.1016 to 14.5.0.1081 or 14.6.0.1029 and others in-between.

I always get in my IntelRST.log:

E Win32 exception occurred!!

2015:11:22 13:47:30:068: Error code: 0x4E24 (20004)

2015:11:22 13:47:30:068: Debug info: 'Setup.cpp (257)'

How do I read those Intel RSTlog files?

What does Error code 0x4E24 (20004)

My origina question how do I get rid of iastora.sys BSOD?

How do I find out what is the newest  IntelRST?

Wouldn't it be nice if instead of trowing a meaningless error it could tell: "The latest version you can install on your system is X.X.X.X and her is the link to get it....."

I have spent considerable time trying to prevent iastora.sys errors but I am getting nowhere.
