Anyone else tried the 0104 BIOS? Seems to disable the onboard LAN port. Even when the port is checked in the settings. Downgraded to 0102 which works, upgraded to 0103 which also works. PCH temp still zero in all BIOS versions.

Hi there,
I have some trouble with a newly bought HIS Radeon HD 7970 X2 GHz Edition on an Intel DX79SR Board.
My specs:
Intel I7 3820 @ Default clock
Intel DX79SR Board
16 GB Samsung Green DDR3 (2x 8 GB Kit); Running at 1600 MHz (8-8-8-24)
Adaptec Raid Card 6405E with 2 Samsung HE103SJ 1 TB Drives (RAID 0)
ASUS Xonar D2 PCI Sound Card
Plextor M5 Pro SSD 128 GB
Windows 8 Pro x64
currently:
EVGA Geforce GTX 670 FTW Edition 2 GB
In this configuration the PC runs well, but with a small issue at the boot Screen ("Press F2" etc.) where it hangs up for a while (mainly 10-15 seconds) at code 5A (that occured first after updating the BIOS to vers. 553 from delivery state, which was 537 though) which seems to adhere with the RAID Card because an uninstallation of the Card gets me a fast boot :-).
Passing that point there are no further Problems.
Now starts the fun with the HD 7970...
GTX 670 drivers and card uninstalled, HD 7970 installed... PC started... BIOS screen appeared "Press F2" ect., Screen goes black (and i can't even see RAID BIOS beyond this point) and last post code at the bottom of the right side shows "0_" ... Dunno the meaning of that because the BIOS post on the board itself shows "00" which means everythings ok, I suppose...
Interestingly I can enter the BIOS of the Mainboard where I've seen that the HD7970 starts at 8 GT/s (GTX670 at 2,5 GT/s, powers up in Windows)... Don't know if this relevant...
Funny thing is, I can hear the Windows 8 startup ect. in the background, but the black screen won't refresh and stays at 0_ ...
The problem seems similar to this one http://communities.intel.com/thread/33972 ... but since there comes no further answers I'll start here this new thread... Hope you can forgive me that...
Maybe someone has a clue which is causing this issue...
Many thanks for your support in advance...
Greetings
Edit 04/03/2013:
Did some more testing with an old X38 platform...
My 750 Watt PSU seems to be ok as the HD7970 works as it should... means:
Shows me bios, shows me windows...
Why not on X79??? xD Quite annoying...
But I've found out some more about the DX79SR too...
I have tested the raid card in every else of the x16 Slots above the x1 Slot (which should be running over the CPU and not over the chipset as the x1 slot...) but the PC won't boot up... stucks at POST 26 o. e. and no pictures shows up... not even the BIOS enter screen...
It's curious...
Any explanation?
Or is it just incompatibility?

Hi,
As you know all other major MB brands have already computability BIOS for them, when we can expect such for Intel X79 board ?
Because nothing can be done during boot with those cards, if you want to install them you need older card to view windows and install driver for the 2nd pci-e inserted card ...no BIOS and no Boot screens are showing.
Thanks
Hi,
i have the Intel DX79TO Board (Bios update done today) and want to install a Gainward Nvidia GTX 770 Grafic Card.
But if i insert the card i only see from bios (i think it bios) a "0_" in the right corner, and windows doesnt start.
On the Display on the Motherboard stands "00".
Technical Data:
Prozessor Intel Core i7-3820 CPU 3,60 GHZ LGA 2011 Hyper Threading active
Board DX79TO Version AAG28805-402 Serial Number BTTO31800BUR
BIOS Version SIX7910J.86A0559.2013.0305.2337 from 05.03.2013
RAM 4x4 GB = 16GB DDR3 1600 MHz
I hope you can help me.
Thanks
Bruno
Today i updated my DH67CLB3 bios.
Old bios version:
BLH6710H.86A.0098.2011.0114.1739
For the new bios version i just got the most recent from the intel website: BL0160.BIO ( Download Center)
I used the f7 methode from a usb stick and everything seemed to be going well, it even showed me a reassuring "bios update has completed succesfully".
Then the computer rebooted and i didn't see anything anymore. No beeps, no signal on the monitor (optical/hard drives seemed to be spinning up normally judging from the sound).
After this i attemped the recovery methode by removing the jumper on the motherboard, still no video (or anything else).
I'm wondering one thing. Is it possible that the bios update actually went fine but that the bios for some reason doesn't want to use the integrated graphics from my i7-2600 anymore?
Is there something i can still try or do i need to replace the motherboard?
For the board dn2800mt running windows xp, I can't seem to install a driver for "audio device on high-definition audio bus", consequently there is no audio on the HDMI port. I downloaded and ran the file AUD_XP_5.10.0.6710_PV.exe, which successfully completed, but the device manager still indicates that the driver was not installed. Is there something else that needs to be done to install this driver or is there s different driver available that will work?
Hi all,
Has anyone had experience of using the Intel DN2800MT motherboard with Windows XP Professional?
I have done a fair bit of searching around and have seen references to it not working with XP and an equal number saying the opposite. Intel offer 32-bit drivers for XP so I presume it works, however, I would be interested in hearing about people's practical experience of using the board with this operating system.
I am only planning on using the board for my Squeezecenter so I think it will be fine - graphics performance isn't important but I will still need to be able to see something on the screen when updating etc. The reason I am going for this board is the passive cooling and the build in DC power socket. I currently use XP Professional for the OS, which works perfectly, and as such I don't want to change that aspect of the system.
Many thanks
Russ
Video card ASUS HD7850 until loading Windows 8 gives a black screen, you can not enter the BIOS, you must switch to the onboard video card. This is what appears when you load the built-in video card: Video OptionRom Authenticate Fail.
I have Driver issues with a DX79si windows 8 pro
One of them is the location is unknown how do you tell a drivers were it is
Hello,
I have a DX79SR with an i7-3970x processor and 4x4GB sticks of Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer RAM Model #: BLT2KIT4G3D1608DT2TXOB:
When the memory setting in the BIOS is set to 'Automatic', the memory is down-clocked to 1333Mhz. If I change from 'Automatic' to the XMP profile of the memory (1600Mhz, as above) that the BIOS detects, I get a message about every 2nd boot that there was an issue. When I go back into the BIOS, the memory is set back to 1333Mhz and related timings.
Is this a known issue or something else? Any ideas?
My new DZ87KLT-75K has difficulty turning on. When my machine is off the red "Power Supervisor LED" is lit constantly. When I turn on my machine, I get prompted with a message telling me that the Intel Power Supervisor has detected a "Catastrophic Power Event." If I press a key at this message, the Power Supervisor LED turns off and the machine usually proceeds to POST and boot to Windows 7. Sometimes instead of booting I instead get the red Power Supervisor LED combined with the memory error beep code (three beeps, repeat). When this happens the machine turns itself off automatically. Once booted to Windows the machine seems stable with good thermals and game performance. The power supervisor LED stays off when Windows is running.
My first thought was the power supply. I have tried two Corsair AX860i PSUs so far. I RMAed the first one because I figured if the power supervisor LED is lit then it must be a problem with the PSU. Today I got another of the same exact model, but the above symptoms persist. Corsair's website insists that this model is compatible with Haswell.
A separate but possibly related problem is that I seem unable to update the BIOS on the motherboard. I tried twice. Both times the machine shut itself off and went into BIOS recovery mode. I suspect this power problem is to blame.
Here are my full specs:
Core i7-4770K
DZ87KLT-75K
32 GB (8GB per DIMM) of Dual Channel Corsair "CMY32GX3M4A2133C11"
Nvidia Geforce GTX 780
Samsung 256GB SSD
Western Digital 2TB HDD
Corsair AX860i PSU 860 Watts
Do you think it is safe to use this machine until I get a fix for this? Could using it damage the components?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had a nvidia gts250 1 GB graphics card and it stopped working. I tried a temporary working nVidia GeForce 6600 and 2 or 3 other cards I could find with different power ranges. Only cards that do not need the 6pin power connector works and only if I do not give power to the auxiliary power connecters (either the 4 pin molex or the sata one). One of the cards I tried is the nvidia gtx460 but the fans start and everything and no visual. If I connect a smaller card in the primary slot and the external powered one in the secondary pcie slot bios tells me it picks it up. Any advice or help?
Hi !!!
Just a quick remark about the USB 3.0 front panel hub, cable is too short on a CoolerMaster Cosmos 1000 Case.
Do you know if Intel has another USB 3.0 Hub for this MB with a LONGER cable?
If there a "compatible" HUB out there in the market that could have a longer cable?
Thanks,
E1375
Hi I want to buy the DX79SI motherboard but I need to know the chipset used for the 2 Firewire ports on this board
I do have experience some weird behaviours with some chipser so I just want to make sure the ones installed on this board are compatible with my Audio Card (RME Fireface UFX
Thanks for your help

I'm a PC enthusiast, every year a few friends ask me to put together a PC for them or their company.
I only buy Asus or Intel motherboards, mostly Asus.
Some time ago I bought a DZ77GA-70K board.
I had to flash the BIOS for better Win 8 support, everything went good but after reboot the board seemed dead, tried BIOS recovery, no avail.
So off to the store to RMA the board.
Now 5 weeks later, happy to finally receive a new board from the RMA department...
2 RAM slots are dead (channel B).
I Will never be buying Intel boards again!
Been reading around on these forums..., shame on you Intel!
Hi all, i have this boot problem on my pc using a dg41wv board running win 7. I have been using this machine for 3 yrs have made no changes at all.
my pc only boots to the 2 intel logos displays a 51 on the bottom right of screen and displays bios and boot menu options. i cannot access these menus and the 51 becomes 50 after about 2 minutes. This where the computer remains.
HELP
My DH61AG mini-ITX has a x4 PCIexpress slot and was wondering if I could install a standard x16 Video card?
While I understand the speed of the card will slow down my main reason for adding one is not to play games
but to allow me to add a Third monitor to my system. I am currently using both the HDMI and DVI port.
I could get a USB Port replicator that adds video ports but they are a hit or miss...Thanks in advance...
Thanks
Have upgraded this board to the latest Bios version but now I cannot enter bios with the F2 key. Before upgrading I managed, but with a little difficulty as it did not work on every attempt, but after the upgrade, nothing. I have to use the back to bios button on the back.
Anybody having the same issues?
