Intel DH55TC stuck on boot loop after Firewire PCIe card installed

$

Hello!

I have a problem with my desktop computer on DH55TC motherboard. I've just bought a Firewire PCIe card and can't boot now.

When I push the power button, the fan starts spinning and after about 5 seconds everything turns off. After a few seconds the system starts again and turn off so it's stuck on a loop. No video signal while this happens and sometimes there are 2 beeps looping (no video signal). Sometimes it displays the Intel logo startup screen but can't continue with boot process or get into the BIOS with F2 key. If I unmount the Firewire PCIe card, everything works OK.

My setup is like this:

Intel Core i5-750 2.66 processor

RAM 8 GB (1x4GB, 2x2GB).

ATI Radeon HD 4650 1 GB (PCIe x16 port)

Momentus XT 500GB Hybrid HDD

DVD-RW Drive

Hyper Tx3 Processor Cooler

600W Power Source

I've already updated the BIOS (TCIBX10H.86A), tried to boot without HDD and separate RAM modules with no results.

PCIe card model is Manhattan 160353.

Any hints to solve it?

Thank you.

Problem with HDMI audio using intel hd 4600 graphics

Hello,

I've got a huge problem regarding my hdmi audio in my intel dq87pg board. The setup is the following:

HTPC  -> Displayport to HDMI Adapter -> Onkyo AV Receiver -> TV

OS is Windows 8.1, Graphic drivers etc. are the latest.

if the TV and the AV Receiver is on when I start the HTPC, everything works fine. But if it is switched off while booting, the computer does not find any hdmi audio device when the receiver is turned on later. The same happens when av receiver is on during boot and the sound works and I restart the AV reveiver or replug the cable in between.

I've tried nearly everything, different drivers, reinstall windows etc, but nothing helps. Does anyone have a solution?

Many regards

Florian

Memory Issue for DZ87KLT-75K

There seems to be a problem with the XMP-3 memory setting when using 32 GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 2133MHz (CMY32GX3M4A2133C11). Using this setting, the system:

1.) Starts up for 2 seconds

2.) Powers off

3.) Starts up with no POST for 20 seconds then proceeds to boot-up normally

This happens when the memory is clocked to 2133MHz using the XMP-3 profile setting in the BIOS. Doing a soft-shutdown also results in the same sequence of events. However, reversing the memory setting to "Automatic" changes the memory speed to 1333MHz and the system returns to normal operation/start-up. Any clue why this is happening? Has anyone else observed similar problems using Corsair Vengeance Pro memory?

DH87RL bricked - need a 1:1 BIOS flash image (have a programmer)

Dear everyone,

a friend has bricked a DH87RL by trying to flash a new BIOS via the recovery method (provided a BIO file on a USB drive).

The board does three beeps instead of POST (and nothing else), keeps cycling in those 3 beeps.

Which normally would be a RAM error - except that the RAM previously worked fine, other RAM got tried, and there's no reason to suspect RAM.

Conveniently, the SPI Flash ROM comes in a socket.

Unfortunately, the .BIO image available from Intel is not a 1:1 Flash ROM chip image - rather, it's some kind of an archive that needs to be "extracted" (understood) by the flasher tool.

What we need is a 1:1 image of the BIOS flash chip, for our SPI programmer to be any use.

Could anyone help? The moderators from Intel maybe?

Or, could anyone take a snapshot of theirs (on a healthy motherboard) using for instance the open-source Flashrom tool?

(available for Linux and DOS).

Even just the "recovery block" of the BIOS image would help, if it exists as a stand-alone "flashable object".

Thanks in advance for any help :-)

DB85FL Restarts due to Epson Printer being on.

I have a desktop PC running Windows 7 Pro x64. If I do a Windows shutdown while my Epson WF 3520 All in One Printer is powered on, it goes off for a few seconds then boots up again. This started after updating the BIOS from 0019 to 0124. There is a switch on the PC's power supply. If I flip it to Off just as the PC goes off, 3 seconds later, the power light will blink brightly (like it's trying to restart) then do one more dim blink. At that point, I can toggle the switch back and it will remain off. It powers on normally with the button on and all is well until the next time I turn my PC off.

Workaround:

If I turn the printer off before I issue the shutdown, it stays off like it should.

It appears like the newer BIOSs (0124 and 0125) are reacting to a signal from the USB port I have the printer connected to and awakening from a powered off state. I spoke with Epson's tech support and they hadn't heard of this. They suggested trying their printer on another PC. I know it works fine because it was connected to another PC before I bought a new one.

All of the BIOS and Drivers for DB85FL motherboard are up to date . Windows 7 is up to date and the Epson driver is as well. I tried all sorts of BIOS changes and set them back to the default as a last resort.

Has anyone else encountered this and identified a local change that I can make to have it go off and stay off when connected to a powered on printer?

Thanks

DX79SI downshift to PCIe 2.0 ?

$

Hi there, does anybody know how to downshift the DX79SI motherboard permanently to PCIe 2.0 speed or less ? Considering that PCIe 3.0 isn't really supported by the Sandy Bridge CPU (the only one supported by the board) I don't understand why the new generation of RAID controllers try to run at the higher speed ? Both LSI's, Intels and Adaptecs newest controllers all refuse to work with the DX79SI board. At least the Intel RS3WC080 boots up but since its running at 8 GTs its unstable. The Adaptec series 7 controllers refuse to work at all. The board doesn't boot with a POST code 51 error.

Intel Haswell Refresh For DZ87KLT-75K? & Intel Broadwell Support?

Will the DZ87KLT-75K get haswell refresh and broadwell support? I have noticed in the compatibility link that if i select i7-4790 there are other brand Z87 motherboards except the Intel ones there is no DZ87KLT-75K and amazon has the i7-4790 up for sale i wanted to get it for the DZ87KLT-75K but the amazon website has a note on it that "Not compatible with Intel Motherboards." that's when i checked the compatibility list and there are no Intel Boards in the list.

Whats up with that Intel?

*EDIT*

Better yet the Devils Canyon i7-4790K seems to be a more appropriate jump to from the i7-4770K hopefully Intel will have a BIOS update ready to support the haswell refresh, or the BIOS 0451 already support harswell refresh? coz in the release not there is among the New Fixes/Features "Updated Processor Support".

I have my eyes set on the i7-4790K (4.0GHz Base And 4.4GHz Boost) this is a worth while upgrade, when it comes out next month hopefully I'll be able to drop it in the DZ87KLT-75K.

Or Intel should treat all the DZ87KLT-75K owners who are affected with the BIOS memory issues which took very long to fix to a return your i7-4770K then receive i7-4790K and if one has i7-4770 receive i7-4790. Just a thought that will be a nice apology from Intel to show how much they care about their valued loyal customers, i for one I'm very much willing to return the i7-4770K and receive i7-4790K.

HD 4600 HDMI audio problem

$

Hi There,

I have a Gigabyte GA-H87N-WIFI board, with an Intel Core i3 4340 processor (with HD 4600 graphics). My PC is set up as a home theatre PC, and I'm really struggling with audio issues that I hope someone can help with.

The issue: Turning off the amp and turning it on again (or unplugging the HDMI cable then re-connecting) leads to a loss of sound through HDMI. An error appears (with a yellow triangle/exclamation mark) against the High Definition Audio Device in Device Manager which would appear to be the cause of the problem. Rebooting the PC seems to be the only way to get sound back.

Troubleshooting so far:

  • I have tried a variety of drivers, and as of today I'm currently using the recently released Win64_15338 drivers.
  • I have tried plugging the PC directly into my TV (Sony Bravia). This improves matters slighty, as the TV can be put to sleep or have power removed, and the audio returns when it is turned on again. Unplugging the HDMI cable leads to the same problem though.
  • I have tried another HDMI cable, which has had no impact.

Many thanks!

Chris

Bricked PC after BIOS update

$

Hi,

I have an Intel DH67BL motherboard. rev. AAG10188-202 (the early model it seems). Serial# BTBL04700CLU.

After updating from the original bios version (0062) til the latest (0160) I can't boot the computer.

BIOS upgrade process:

* I used the F7 method for updating the BIOS

* BIOS-file was on a USB stick

* BIOS update was all success (had "done" in the 4-5 flash-steps)

* Computer automatically rebooted

The symptoms I now see are:

1. No video output (initial observation)

2. Computer does not boot

3. After trying many combinations I uninstalled all four RAM modules.

I'm not getting the expected three beeps nor blinking LED, when booting

without RAM. This scares me, as I think that if BIOS does not even detect

that there is no RAM available, then NOTHING works, but hopefully I'm

   wrong about this.

What I have tried:

* BIOS recovery

   - I have tried recovering with both USB- and CD-method

   - I have had the PC stay overnight without CMOS battery installed

   - I have been booting with screen attached to DVI and HDMI (separate boots)

* Following the steps in Anoshi's post (#18) in the following thread:

      https://communities.intel.com/thread/29605?start=15&tstart=0

  To no avail unfortunately.

Can you help to the next steps please.

Best Regards

Niels

DH61ZE Updated BIOS now freezes at the BIOS screen

$

Incrementally updated from BIOS 0034 to 0048, no issues.

then to 0099, which is the next BIOS available.

Now the system freezes at the BIOS splash page.

I can get into the BIOS.

I removed the power and battery for 3 days.

If I go into some parts of the BIOS the entire system freezes up, but not in other screens.

Is there another way to "reset" the BIOS.

Change the "Hard Drive Write Cache Enabled" setting on DP35SP

Hi all

I've recently replaced a failed drive in a Mirror volume for a friend on DP35DP board.  Rebuild was fine, but when I compare the two disks, first has the "Hard Drive Write Cache Enabled" setting as YES, the other disk has NO.

The disks are the same, Seagate ST3500320NS drives, except the first (replaced) drive has a firmware SN06 and the other SN05, so initially I am thinking this is the problem.  I would imagine it is better to have both drives setting the same.  The volume cache has been turned off so I guess I am safe.

I cant find a setting in the Martix Storage Console 7.8 on Windows Server 2003 to change the setting.  Maybe it has to be changed at BIOS level?  Maybe it cant be changed manually and it's the firmware?  I just don't know.  I plan on upgrading the original disk's firmware to match but don't want to yet if there is a setting I can change.

Hope you can advise!

Marty

Intel DH55TC 1st gen mobo doesn't power on

lately I've been trying to install a core i5 quad 1st gen cpu to my mobo which didn't make it because of compatibility issues. So I decided to update my h55 intel mobo to latest bios thru thumbdrive update and it was successful tried to install again i5 quad but wont (machine check error), I've install back my core i3 and then all things work. But I also have another 1st gen mobo, a Foxconn h55, I transfered my core i3 there because I want to test it and used it for a long time and then my h55 intel was given a rest. Things changed my friends want to buy my Foxconn Mobo because his one was dead so I said yes to him. But things happen unexpectedly, after I install my components back to my Intel H55, checked before powering it. The mobo's led is lighting but I couldn't get it to work I've tried touching the pwr_btn front panel with a metal but no to avail, it was properly placed on a cool dry place with a static bag on it, removed all installable components. I've experience regret this time as it was my very first mobo and bought it a little pricey here in our local market like 130$ back in 2010, my mobo didn't go through mods or anything it just a plain workstation and a little gaming, didn't abused it at all. So will you give me any idea why it won't work after stocking it for awhile?

DZ87KLT-75K problem after bios 451 update

Hi,

Right after the bios 451 update (by the F7 method) I can't enter the bios anymore by pressing F2. Also, the "Back to Bios" button is not working anymore.

In both cases, I see the extreme board logo and the F2 / F7 / F10 message, but nothing happens.

I can boot to Windows however, and AIDA64 reports the correct bios version. The PC is able to sleep normally. But there's no way to enter the bios.

Thanks in advance.
