Help w DZ68DB bios. Restore to factory default without display.

$

0

I recently bought a DZ68DB board and core i7 2600 processor to upgrade my photo workflow desktop.

After the initial setup I experimented with different bios video settings for a dual display setup with the onboard IGP and the xtra GPU, ending up with a configuration where BIOS post messages are not displayed for some reason, probably a missconfiguration. Video starts only when  windows starts. Before that none of the post messsages (Intel logo, press F2, etc..) appear on the display. THe display btw is connected to the DVI port of the IGP.

I would like to reset the bios to factory defaults. Since I cannot see whats  on screen I will need help. Can anyone send me the extact key sequence after power on so that I can navigate without seeing the screens to complete the reset to factory defaults?

Already tried clearing CMOS data by removing battery and reflashing BIOS w/ update w/o success.

Thanks in advance.

DQ77KB no video no post no beeps

I bought a dq77kb mainboard and I cannot get to show information on a display.

Also the keyboard numlock led does not light up.

The processor is in the compatible procs list

its a i3-3220T processor. The cpu fan start to run. I have a headset plugged in and I do not hear any beeps

When I remove the memory I hear the 3 beeps.

I can't go to the bios as I can see anything. It appears the usb ports don't get power.

I would try a bios upgrade if I could, but it doesn't get to that stage. So no POST either. Tried clear CMOS with power cable dettached, doesn't help

All of this has also been performed out of the chassis with only one memory card in place, no connections but the power switch. It starts running it gives no unusual led activity and no beeps.

The processor is compatible and I don't have any other processors.

The power is connected externally and it has 90 Watts. It boots up an hp laptop nicely with no issues.

I followed all the troubleshooting steps but don't know what else there is I can do.

I have seen multiple posts regarding similar issues. They have not been answered by Intel here:

Possible Problem with Video Card

Hello,

I have just registered in the forums and I would like some help with the following problem.

My desktop computer at home is randomly rebooting since a month ago.

I have been trying to gather more information since them, and what I have discovered is that it's only reboots when I'm playing a Computer Game that uses the video card.

Just using it for other stuff seems no problem. Playing old games that don't use too much of video, also shows no problem, as far as I noticed. Playing games like, Dota 2, Dragon Age 2, at Steam does make the computer reboots without a warning.

I have checked the temperature of the video card and the other pieces, and all of them are working on a good temperature.

I have run some Softwares to diagnostic the problems and some monitor Softwares.

Intel Processor Diagnostic Tools - Shows no errors.

HWmonitor - Shows all is fine with temperature.

OCCT - Fine for memory and CPU. When i run the GPU test it reboots the machine.

Windows Memory Test - Shows no errors.

Here is more information:

DZ77GA-70K will not boot from USB 3.0

I have been building some documentation for Windows 7 boot repair on an Intel DZ77GA-70K system board.

It is using BIOS version GAZ7711H.86A.0066.2013.0521.1509

The BIOS settings are set to "Default"

I've tried booting a Windows 7 Installation Disk from a flash-drive plugged into the front USB 3.0 port.

The PC boots correctly, but then the Windows Repair Utility cannot see the USB 3.0 flash drive plugged into the front USB 3.0 port.

It can see the installed internal SATA HDDs and the installed internal SATA DVD drives.

When I boot from a USB 2.0 port on the back of the DZ77GA-70K the Windows 7 Repair Utility can see the flash-drive.

Am I seeing an Intel system board issue or is this some type of Windows driver issue for USB 3.0?

Is there documentation on this somewhere?

Thanks

My DZ87KLT-75K bluetooth/wifi module is no longer recognised. Any ideas? I have unplugged it and reseated the wires and module. I thought that it was the drivers and I have tried to reinstall them, but for that to work the module needs to reconised.

An ideas or maybe this has happened to anyone else?

Latest BIOS for Intel Lexington 3?

I am trying to locate a BIOS update for my Intel Lexington 3 motherboard.

Motherboard: Intel Lexington 3
Model number: IUMV21014665
AA number: A57887-302
Current BIOS version: MV85010A.15A.0041.P05

I am trying to upgrade to this cpu, so I need a BIOS version which supports it (preferably the latest version). The current BIOS version I have does not support it.

I have scoured the internet for over an hour and a half, and found nothing. The motherboard was pulled from an old Gateway desktop, and neither the Gateway nor Intel websites have been helpful thus far.

And yes, I know I am trying to "upgrade" to a Pentium 4 in the year 2014.

Thanks so much for your help!

Phillip.

DH87RL: USB problems

$

Hello,

I have this DH87RL-board for a few months now. I had problems with USB right from the start.

At first I thought that the cause of the problems was the device itself or the OS but now I'm quite confident that it's the board.

I'm running Kubuntu 14.4 and Windows 7 Pro. Problems occur under both OSes.

This is what I observe:

- I'm using USB keyboard and mouse and both work well -- using any of the connectors (front, rear, USB2, USB3) under both OSes.

- In the boot loader (standard linux boot loader) the keyboard is only working when I select "USB legacy mode" in the BIOS. I find that

quite strange as on the other hand I'm able to enter the BIOS using F2 (prior to the boot loader) in any case.

- My USB2-Stick (Kingston) is also working under all conditions.

- But other devices don't work -- for example my smartphone. The strange thing is that it sometimes works and sometimes not.

My printer/scanner on the other hand never works.

In case my smartphone doesn't work I see messages like the following in the Linux logs:

usb 3-9: new high-speed USB device number 10 using xhci_hcd

usb 3-9: Device not responding to set address.

usb 3-9: Device not responding to set address.

usb 3-9: device not accepting address 10, error -71

usb 3-9: new high-speed USB device number 12 using xhci_hcd

usb 3-9: Device not responding to set address.

usb 3-9: Device not responding to set address.

usb 3-9: device not accepting address 12, error -71

The cause of the problems is not in the USB devices as all devices work well on different computers using different OSes.

My specs:

AA-Number: AAG74240-402

Serial: BQRL331000SC

Version: RLH8710H.86A

I also upgraded to the recent BIOS (0326) but to no avail.

Hope someone can help.

Kind regards,

  Christian

DN2800MT win 7 skip boot recovery

we have some DN2800MT and D2500HN boards acting as headless servers. When the power and batteries go out the server turns off unexpectedly (obviously). The issue lies when either the bois or windows decides to prompt you with 2 options in Windows error Recovery (see picture). Is there a way to skip this and just have windows boot normally? I played with System Properties > startup and recovery > system startup but i couldn't get the server to skip the screen. I also didn't see anything in the bios that looked related.

Mobo: DN2800MT and D2500HN

OS: Win7 SP1 not sure if 32bit or 64bit. probably both

Intel DQ77KB and Chromecast

hallo

I own a DIY HTPC based on a "Intel DQ77KB"

Is it right that the bulid in HDMI port is just a output one?

My idea was to stick a chromecast in it to use it as an input device. For me it seams so that Win7_64 didn't recognise the chromecast at all. I find also no driver that hint that this solution is supported.

Am I right? Any other solutions?

HDMI problems with DH55TC

I have Intel DH55TC motherboard. It has HDMI so thought of using  my LCD and LED TV for display. I plugged the HDMI cable into SOny BRavia 40EX400. It showed screen for few times and then it started showing no signal.

Recently, I used Samsung 22F5100 LED TV and tried plugging PC into HDMI/DVI port on TV using HDMI-HDMI cable, also tried DVI-HDMI cable to connect from DVI port on board. Lastly I also tried VGA_HDMI connectivity but no luck.

My Laptop, Tablet, Xbox all work on both these TVs seamlessly without doing any thing.

Just to clear the last doubt, I upgraded all the drivers of the board but turned out to be of no use.

Can any one help me, as to what could be the problem.

DZ87KLT-75K, Memory Issues Due To BIOS Issues *BIOS 0446*

$

I don't need to say much but many know the Board has memory issues on way or the other the recent being in the latest BIOS 0446, I have 32GB in 4 x 8GB setup, but been having issue running XMP 1.3 1600 plus after several cold boots (Power Cycles) eg 4 or so the board will decide to drop the XMP settings or any memory frequency above 1333 set whichever way be it manual or through overclock assistant, it drops the settings and setts back to default 1333 till you sett it all over again and after few power cycles the three beeps and a reset to default again. Problem was on all previous BIOS versions 0336, 0344, 0346 and now on 0446.

Only now the issue can clearly be seen on 0446 when the memory settings are dropped in favor of default settings after several power cycles, the board decides to shave of 8GB of my memory and display 24GB in the first page when BIOS is entered after the three beep error 24GB instead of 32GB and if you check the inner main page it still shows 32GB but with settings on default.

INTEL FIX THE ISSUES, the board is good only the Memory issues in BIOS are letting it down.

Plus on BIOS 0446 The memory latency has deteriorated i don't know why but it has worse latency compared to previous BIOS before the new 0446.

Hello,

i have some problems with Intel DH87MC board and i5 4460 possessor,

first i put the i5 4460 and there was no boot or post screen so i check the net to see if my motherboard is compatible to the possessor, by Intel site, it is: Compatible Processors

i update the bios to 0155 with different possessor (i3) and and it work great! for check is install Windows 7 and everything was well.

than i put back the i5 4460 and i have screen and post i enter the bios configuration and configure it. after i press F10 to save, the board wont boot up. no screen and no post again.

so i power off manually and the broad is back to life.

i try to install windows 7 but every time the computer is restart it wont boot back! i need to power off\on manually.

so this is my problem, the motherboard cant boot after restart at any point or way. not from bios or ctrl+alt+del or anything!

i try to go back to bios 0154 but i have the same problem.

if you have any idea, ill be grateful!

eSATA port multiplier support on DH67CF board / H67 chipset

Hi everyone,

I apologize for not being terribly technical.

I plugged in a 5 bay SATA drive into the eSATA port on my DH67CF motherboard running Windows 7.  The computer is only seeing the first of the five bays.  I know that port multiplier support is required to see all of the drives, and I am a little bit surprised that the latest and greatest Intel chipset wouldn't support this technology....am I missing something? Is there a way to see all of the drives? I know I could put an external eSATA card into the slot, but I'd rather save the PCI slot for other purposes if I can.

Thanks if anyone has any ideas on this -- through BIOS updates, settings, hacks etc...?

DH87RL no video

Hi

Just received a DH87RL. I did build a system; system did boot/BIOS splash visible.

I did update BIOS (as per Intel recommendation inserted in box) to latest BIOS, 322.

System did boot again with new BIOS/BIOS splash visible.

I entered BIOS setup (F2). Made some minor changes:

- System uses integrated gfx only, put this to enable always

- disabled audio chipset (as it is a server like setup)

- changes boot order of the HDD's

After saving BIOS/reboot, no video anymore......monitor keeps in sleep.

- When I remove the BIOS jumper, and hit F2 while booting, I do get to BIOS splash screen and then a menu to reset BIOS password (and 2 other options)

- I have tried to clear BIOS by hitting F2 - F7 - F9

- I have cleared BIOS by removing battery & jumper. I am able to get into BIOS setup; restore defaults (clock was reset - so BIOS seems to be cleared)

- I confirmed that BIOS settings were as out of the box (I checked settings I changed)

- Reboot....no video (not on HDMI, not on DVI); monitor remains in sleep

- I have removed battery for whole night. Same results...

- I have detached all sata cables...same result (no video)

- I have a HDD with Linux installed and connected to DH87RL. Looking at the HDD led, it is booting. When I put this HDD back on the old MB, I can notice in the syslog that the DH87RL did boot linux (while I don't have video)....hence, rest of system seems ok. I am stuck, as there is a configuration issue with network, and I cannot remotely ssh into system...

I have noticed many posts on BIOS issues....I only made a minor change. How come that this became a major disaster?

By the way, I did build this system per recommendation of C'T Magazine; They quoted in their article that the first MB they received died after a BIOS update....I didn't pay attention to this, but there seems to be structural issues here, also looking at many other posts.

Intel, pls provide asap a BIOS which fixes these issues. Somewhere I did read a post from Intel where they acknowledge the issue. Pls provide a timeline for a BIOS fix, otherwise I will RMA the board, which will not make Intel happy either (and me neither....)

(Another major peef....the SATA connectors are to close to the edge. If you use a SATA cable with a lock, you are never able to release the cable...unless you take the MB out....or don't use SATA cables with lock mechanism....)

DH87MC will not warm boot - Blank screen on reset/restart

I have the mobo configured with 16GB using a Corsair (Haswell certified) PS, a i5-4690 CPU chip and using the on-board video. I installed Win7(64) fine, but when I restart the system via software or reset, I get a black screen with no POST. Cold boot the system by powering of (either via the case power switch or power supply and the system boots up fine. The system also will not boot if I go into BIOS setup and save (or don't save), I must power down to boot.

I have swapped out the original PS with another one (bother were new), but no joy.

Anyone have any ideas what the problem is?

BIOS problems with Intel DQ87PG board

Hallo,

I have ordered a bunch of Intel desktop DQ87PG boards for the new computers in our classrooms. Before making a master pc for taking an image I wanted to update the BIOS to the latest version of 4th august 2014. Because I had already installed the OS I decided to use the EB.EXE file from the Windows OS. After the restart the pc went to the BIOS screen and get off after a few seconds. I left it alone but after 2 hours the pc continued to do so. It wasn´t possible to access the BIOS Menu, the Boot Manager or another function. I tried to reset the BIOS, following the instructions of the boards Manual, by setting the BIOS Setup Security Jumper to configure. After that taking no effect I decided do unplug the Mainboard from Power and take off the BIOS battery and let the Mainboard alone for 3 days. By enabling the Power again, the Mainboard sends the 3 beep RAM Warning after every power on and the screen remains black. I replaced the RAM by tested ones from another PC but that doesn´t change the failure.

After all I haven´t any idea what to do next, so I would be very pleased if someone have an advice to me.

DG965wh instantly reboots after shutdown

I recently bought a second hand intel board that I plan on using as a server, an intel dg965wh.  However I'm running into an issue, whenever I tell it to shutdown, it instantly restarts again.  If I turn off the switch at the back, it will happen as soon as I turn it back on.  I've checked that the bios is set to stay off on power restore.  I've tried changing bios versions.  I've tried replacing the psu, as well as removing the board from the case.  I've disabled the LAN in bios, as well as disabling wake on lan.  No matter what the problem persists.  Not sure where I can take it from here, so does anyone have any ideas?

DP35DP Ethernet Driver OK button unresponsive

$

Hi All

I inherited a clunker of a server which I am slowly decommissioning, but due to a 3rd party software problem I was forced to do some change diagnostics.

This DP35DP machine running Windows Server 2003 x86 had an old ethernet driver for the onboard controller installed, reporting as a 82566DC. So since there were no official Windows 2003 driver for the motherboard, I decided to search and download from the 82566DC resource page and update it to see if it resolved my other problem.

The latest available driver 18.3 installed OK with no issue and my network is running, but I noticed I could not click the OK button on the properties page to accept changes.  Fortunately the default settings are fine for me.

Is there somewhere I can get an earlier driver, since there is only the "latest" listed for me?

Is what I've done a bad thing?  There is a 15.3 driver for XP from the DP35DP motherboard page, will this work and is a better choice to try?  Or should I just leave the Windows supplied driver?

Thanks for your advice

Marty
