Still no fixed BIOS for DZ68BC

$

0

Alright,

It has been a while since Intel released the infamous 0035 BIOS for DZ68BC board.

I have not been able to use my desktop at all. Is it really taking so long? There is plenty of affected customers waiting for a solution.

Obviously Ivy Bridge CPUs are working fine with this BIOS since I have not heard any complaints. BUT all Sandy Bridge users are getting more or less BSODs. Many of the cases even with default BIOS settings and Turbo Boost disabled, like myself.

I am not going to RMA my board because I hate to rip off all the components and cables that I assembled so beautifully (Yeah, it is a custom PC that took almost 3 months to build and sleeve the cables etc)

If nothing happens in next two months, I have to violate my rig and replace the board with Asrock (considered before as junk brand... I guess its high end nowadays)

Updating Gateway 700XL Desktop

Hello -

I have a Gateway 700XL desktop that I've updated throughout the last 7+ years without incident.  I recently lost the OEM HD (120Gig) and the slave HD (250G on a controller) at the same time and replaced the HDs with a matching pair of WD Caviar Blue 500G SATAs and a StarTech 4-port RAID controller card.  I want to set the system up with a RAID 0 Stripped Array and seem to be having problems with the existing BIOS on the system.

What is listed now is:  MV85010A.15A.0049.P07 and I have found - in a discussion area here - that someone flashed to .P15 and had success with their problem.

I boot the system and it is bypassing the onboard BIOS complete.  StarTech said I didn't need to install drivers from their accompanying CD because the card itself has built-in BIOS, just to boot the system and hit CTL+S at bootup, go into the utility and set up the RAID array.  I am not getting into the card BIOS at all and it's also bypassing the system BIOS completely.  StarTech said the current BIOS were too old and this is an area where I do not feel the least bit comfortable but with instruction will fix the problem.

Please advise as to the latest BIOS download here that I can use (an not fry the whole system) so I can set up the RAID Array.  Without flashing the onboard BIOS I cannot use the parts I've bought and will have to return them with no other choice but to buy IDE HDs and abandon the RAID upgrade.

System specs:

Gateway P4, 2.53G single core

2 Gigs Rambus memory

Creative Labs Live Drive Soundcard and Drive

nVidia 6800 Video Card

Memorex DVD/CD burner

Allied 500W PS with 2 SATA connectors

USB PCI card

Firewire PCI card

The soundcard, video card, PS, Memorex burner, USB and Firewire cards are all upgrades/additions I've done over the years.  I was running Windows XP Pro *retail* (took the OEM version off) and was planning on upgrading to Windows 7 Ultimate which the Windows 7 Advisor said would work perfectly.  The system is capable of running Windows 7 and then some - I just have no idea how to find the right BIOS update download and also flash the BIOS without an OS or even HDs in the system.

Any and all input is greatly aprecicated.  Also, please remember I am "on the clock" if I have to return the two HDs and controller card to TigerDirect.

Thanks so much!

Intel DP55KG + new Asus Radeon R9 270 GPU - stuck with "0_" on boot

Hi,

I have recently replaced an old faulty Sapphire HD 5850 card with new Asus Radeon R9 270 card. The problem is that on boot, my computer shows an Intel screen and then will get stuck - the only thing that shows up on display is "0_" text in the bottom right corner. The LED display on motherboard shows "00", no beeps.

I have the most recent BIOS installed, OS is Windows 7 64-bit.

HW:

Intel Core i7-860

Intel DP55KG

Do you have any suggestion what to try, or how to fix it?.

Thanks

DQ77cp fails to start after bios upgrade

After BIOS recovery from usb flash drive, computer doesn't start. No video output and keyboard with mouse doesn't work. Usb stick's LED blinks for a while. The green and blue LEDs are on. CPU fan is rotating. But nothing else happens.

After boot computer beeps 3 times then pause and everything repeats again. I changed the memory cards, but it doesn't solve the problem. I checked this memory with another computer. It works perfectly. Memory with less frequency doesn't fix it also.

I removed all peripheral devices, tried to use PCIe video card.

To recover BIOS I had MK0067.bio on my USB flash  (FAT32 16GB) with removed BIOS CFG jumper (yellow).

Can you give me some advice to solve this?

My configuration:

MB: Intel DQ77cp

Proc: Intel i5 3330

Memory: Kingston kvr16n11/4 (2 pcs.)

BIOS before upgrade: MKQ7710H.86A.0048

BIOS tried to install:  MKQ7710H.86A.0067

Boot Manager almost empty

Dear community,

I have a problem with my DH87RL (Rev 401) with the latest Bios-Version RL0326.

After installing Win 8.1 64bit on the SSD (8 months ago) everything was fine. I have 2 optical drives, a SSD (EVO 840) and a Seagate HD (also with bootable Win 8.1). All these drives were shown in BIOS and in the boot-manager (UEFI mode and legacy mode). When I pluged in a USB stick (e.g. Ubunto or Win PE) I could also see it in the BIOS and the boot manager and I was able to boot from the stick.

Now I have the following problem: I couldn't boot from a USB-boot-stick that was displayed in the boot manager. Therefore I disabled the legacy mode and once I had booted again I switched it back on.

Now when I choose the boot-manager using F10, only my SSD and the UEFI : LAN connection are displayed. The Seagate-HD and every USB-boot-stick are missing. In BIOS, under UEFI boot page, all drives (except the optical drives) are available and I can boot from the HD with a double click. Under the legacy boot settings everything (optical drives) is missing

I already tried the default values without success.

I assume that I should erase the NVRAM or are there other solutions for this problem?

If I must erase the NVRAM, how best to do it (remove the BIOS battery)?

Thanks Mike

DP35DP Ethernet Driver OK button unresponsive

$

Hi All

I inherited a clunker of a server which I am slowly decommissioning, but due to a 3rd party software problem I was forced to do some change diagnostics.

This DP35DP machine running Windows Server 2003 x86 had an old ethernet driver for the onboard controller installed, reporting as a 82566DC. So since there were no official Windows 2003 driver for the motherboard, I decided to search and download from the 82566DC resource page and update it to see if it resolved my other problem.

The latest available driver 18.3 installed OK with no issue and my network is running, but I noticed I could not click the OK button on the properties page to accept changes.  Fortunately the default settings are fine for me.

Is there somewhere I can get an earlier driver, since there is only the "latest" listed for me?

Is what I've done a bad thing?  There is a 15.3 driver for XP from the DP35DP motherboard page, will this work and is a better choice to try?  Or should I just leave the Windows supplied driver?

Thanks for your advice

My PC don't reproduce audio correctly - Seems to be a board problem

Hi!

Since a few says my PC don't reproduce the audio correctly.

Theaudio isdistorted andthe voiceis not heard. Always, even with only music, video, or game audio. Also, the stereo function doesn't seems to work, only mono.

I have been doing a couple of tests, and it seems to be that the problem is in the board.

You see: The problem occurs both on Windows (Windows 8.1 x64) and Ubuntu (Ubuntu v12), so is not a OS problem, and the drivers are good and updated, so isn't a driver problem either. My headphones works well in others computers, and when I test other sound devices in my PC, occurs the same problem... so is not also a sound device problem.

Thinking that the audio chip of the board where broken, I bought a sound card and stalled it... Same problem as before also with the sound card installed.

So, in conclusion, a board problem should be the cause of the audio problem I'vebeen having.

Can you guys please help me with this?

Thanks in advance!

DH61AG | new gen. Bios 105 breaks TV Card recognise

We are developing digital Signage Systems using the DH61AG. Since 2 Years we are build System with the
same HW.

On two of my test systems Installed the new Bios gen 105. (Update from old gen 45 to 99 transition,104,105).

Since that day the bios has problems to recognize and initialize the TV Tuner Card stable. some time it
works, sometimes the card is not detected and not visible in the Bios. it’s a try and error game with power on / off

Both system where in the lab for over 1 year without any problem detecting the PCI-E Tuner Card (heavy daily use)we didn’t touch the HW from

the system for over one year, only the bios update was done. since that, I observe on both system the same behavior.

it is not the Tuner HW Card, its definably some changes in the Bios.

Unfortunately  it’s not possible to downgrade to 45 Bios Version, so the system are broken at the moment.

Does any one else run into this issue ?

Intel please help and fix it in the next Bios.  (106 ?)

Thx.

BIOS problems with Intel DQ87PG board

Hallo,

I have ordered a bunch of Intel desktop DQ87PG boards for the new computers in our classrooms. Before making a master pc for taking an image I wanted to update the BIOS to the latest version of 4th august 2014. Because I had already installed the OS I decided to use the EB.EXE file from the Windows OS. After the restart the pc went to the BIOS screen and get off after a few seconds. I left it alone but after 2 hours the pc continued to do so. It wasn´t possible to access the BIOS Menu, the Boot Manager or another function. I tried to reset the BIOS, following the instructions of the boards Manual, by setting the BIOS Setup Security Jumper to configure. After that taking no effect I decided do unplug the Mainboard from Power and take off the BIOS battery and let the Mainboard alone for 3 days. By enabling the Power again, the Mainboard sends the 3 beep RAM Warning after every power on and the screen remains black. I replaced the RAM by tested ones from another PC but that doesn´t change the failure.

After all I haven´t any idea what to do next, so I would be very pleased if someone have an advice to me.

I recently bought a second hand intel board that I plan on using as a server, an intel dg965wh.  However I'm running into an issue, whenever I tell it to shutdown, it instantly restarts again.  If I turn off the switch at the back, it will happen as soon as I turn it back on.  I've checked that the bios is set to stay off on power restore.  I've tried changing bios versions.  I've tried replacing the psu, as well as removing the board from the case.  I've disabled the LAN in bios, as well as disabling wake on lan.  No matter what the problem persists.  Not sure where I can take it from here, so does anyone have any ideas?

Can't even see BIOS screen after changing setup

Hi,

First, my desktop configuration:

Intel DB85FL

Core i5 4550

HD 500 GB

8 GB RAM

GTX 650 1GB

Recently I reinstalled my SO and did it sucessfully so I went back to the BIOS to change the boot order (I remember I unmarked Legacy Boot and UEFI boot). After I've done that, my computer wont boot anymore. I mean: not even the BIOS screen (that intel symbol with the options to hit on the keyboard - F2 for enter setup, F7 to update, etc) appears. No video is displayed (the monitor keeps asking to plug the HDMI cable) and i can hear long beeps and long intervals for a while and suddenly they stop, but the computer still works (all fans and leds are on since the begining, but no video is displayed).

I already tried:

- Checking RAM.

- Running with onboard video.

- Recoverying BIOS with a .BIO file in a pendrive (done sucessfully but the problem is still occurring)

- Unplugning the jumper (wich lets me see the BIOS screen but displays that 4 option menu in which any option I choose it will ask to reconnect the jumper and problem comes back when plug it and power the pc again).

Can anybody help me? I can't belive I just broke my mother board configuring the boot order D:
