I tried installing new fans and a sound card. Upon restart, when I dld drivers, I went into bios and set my chassis fans to 60 and 65% to check noise levels. Saved my settings aaaaaand boom nothing. It goes to code, 16, 21, then bloops and gives me code 53. No video and no power to usb's. I can't figure out what code 53 in the manual either. For safety I've checked my ram, unplugged the fans, and the soundcard. Still nothing.

Hello,

I have a problem with my DH87MC, when I try to access the BIOS through F2 it freezes and I have to restart the computer.

I can access both F7 and F10 functionalities.

I already tried to upgrade the BIOS, downgrade de BIOS, reset the motherboard clock, tried to use another keyboard to see if the problem was with the keyboard, but nothing worked.

Can you guys please help me?

DH87MC memory temps incorrect

I'm posting this at Diego_Intel's request.  I recently used the procedures from this post (DH87MC, Video fail beep code, no video until after OS load) to fix my board not posting, and after using the power button trick to get into the BIOS, my memory temperatures in the BIOS screen have been reporting 86°C instead of the usual ~44°C, even after a cold boot where the machine has been off for a while.  This causes the MB to run the front, CPU, and back fans at full power.  I tried reloading the BIOS defaults many times.  I even re-flashed the BIOS with the same version.  Nothing has fixed the problem.  I've tried removing the memory sticks altogether and booting, then putting them back in.  I've tried 1 stick at a time in every slot.  Nothing has worked.

I should mention that the first time I tried powering on after 3 beeps, the machine seemed to hang.  I tried a few more times, waiting sometimes for 4 or 5 beeps, but in those cases the machine would just power off.  I noticed that sometimes it seems hung after the 3 beeps, but it just takes a while to start (~1min).  I think that might have happened the first time and I powered it off, me thinking it was hung up.  Maybe that screwed it up if it was in the middle of reconfiguring the BIOS.

While it's possible the memory chips' thermal sensors went bad simultaneously when they did, it seems highly unlikely considering they're in a cool environment and the case has 6 total fans, and I did not touch the memory DIMMs right before it happened.  More likely it's a glitch in the BIOS.

I have gotten around the problem by telling the BIOS to ignore the memory temp when controlling the front, back, and CPU fans.  I also maxed out the "normal" memory temperatures.

Coincidentally, the Intel Desktop Utility Summary screen reports the memory and VR temps at 170°C and 196°C, respectively.  While the Board screen reports those same values, but as negative numbers.  I don't understand why it is reporting different °C numbers than the BIOS when the other temps match what the BIOS is reporting.

I'm using 2 8GB Crucial DIMMs, model # BLS2KIT8G3D1609DS1S00.

Intel DH61WW maximum total system memory

hi. just like what the title say, how much maximum total system memory for intel DH61WW? I'm a bit confused, because what I read in some source is different. like:

Intel® Desktop Board DH61WW

and http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/dh61ww/sb/CS-032156.htm#features

is says that this board is support for maximum 16GB of system memory.

but when I see in some review website, it says just support for maximum 8GB. for example:

http://reviews.cnet.com/motherboards/intel-desktop-board-dh61ww/4507-3049_7-34545339.html

so, can someone tell me which is true? or can someone explain to me, how can I upgrade to 16GB of system memory and work well?

I think I don't very understand about this

Hi guys, i am facing graphic related problem from weeks. I am getting a message "graphics driver has been stopped responding and recovered".I removed the graphics card and ran computer with the onboard intel hd graphics.. i faced no problem.. it was running fine, no hang nothing...but after 3days i tested with my frnd's graphics card.. the problem is back.. this time the machine freezes often , goes blank after some seconds... sometimes it comes back and says " Display driver has stopped responding and has been recovered" .. sometimes PC restarts and a screen apears which says(picture below)

before that i did possible everything to fix, even formatted to win 8.1 and again roll back to win7. old driver, new driver, beta driver, etc.. even a cmd fix which was popular, replacing the old file through cmd.exe (the expanding thing).. but no result.. I ran the graphics card on my frnd's machine, Its running fine.. no issues with the card. Someone saying its a problem in the graphics card slot of the Motherboard. Is it? I am using intel Dh67cl

Compatibility problem

My parents have Intel D945GCCR motherboard, and I've just found them a replacement e3400 CPU. Problem is, it seems to be stuck on x6 multiplier and working only at 1200 MHz.

What's the catch?

I want to get back Visual Bios

iupdated BIOS of Desktop Board DB85FL. to the last version i lost it after i had to format my pc, the main reason of doing that was because i wanted to handle my pc fans and temperature from bios, now i can see the options below the intel sign,  F2 to access setup just show me a black screen and the other option is F7 that one is update bios, i discovered that the version that comes with the fan controller is called Visual Bios, so i got the last Visual Bios i run the installation and is showing me the error: downgrade version is not allowed, and i cant continue, when i purchased my PC it came with Visual Bios so i know  it works in my PC, i tried updating trough flash drive and other solutions that are mentioned but none of them work and are not specific to the problem that im having. I would really apreciate if you can show me a solution for this problem. Thanks

DZ68DB - after re-installing win8.1 RTC stops

Hi,

I reinstalled my PC from scratch with Win8.1 and after that, the RTC doesn't work anymore. When you are in the BIOS, the RTC is not ticking. And if the PC is off for some time, the clock misses this time.

I've allready changed the CMOS battery with no effekt.

I don't think it's an hardware issue, because it would be a great coincidence that it just happened during reinstallation of win8.1

Does anyone have any idea?

Still no fixed BIOS for DZ68BC

$

Alright,

It has been a while since Intel released the infamous 0035 BIOS for DZ68BC board.

I have not been able to use my desktop at all. Is it really taking so long? There is plenty of affected customers waiting for a solution.

Obviously Ivy Bridge CPUs are working fine with this BIOS since I have not heard any complaints. BUT all Sandy Bridge users are getting more or less BSODs. Many of the cases even with default BIOS settings and Turbo Boost disabled, like myself.

I am not going to RMA my board because I hate to rip off all the components and cables that I assembled so beautifully (Yeah, it is a custom PC that took almost 3 months to build and sleeve the cables etc)

If nothing happens in next two months, I have to violate my rig and replace the board with Asrock (considered before as junk brand... I guess its high end nowadays)

DQ77KB Not Posting

I have a DQ77KB which up until a case swap was working properly. On connection to power all I get is a single quick flash of ME_STATE and Standby Power LED and then nothing. The fan does start, no beeps or anything. I've tried to clear the CMOS but this hasnt made any difference. I've removed all memory, MSATA etc so its just the motherboard and processor connected but it's still doing the same. Can anyone advise how to diagnose the error?

DH87RL BIOS Update needed-Hangs on reboot with i5-4690k

$

Hi,

I'm having a issue with a recent purchased Intel motherboard DH87RL.

I ordered the parts according with the compatibility table at Intel website for this motherboard but unfortunately the CPU I order was not available in time at my supplier so he sent me a i5-4690k instead of a i5-4670k.

As the table of compatible CPUs its not instantaneous updated I suppose that it would also work, and as at some reviews it was stated as compatible I kepped that i5-4690k.

Well, it went wrong...

I assemble all the parts:

Motherboard: Intel DH87RL

Processor: Intel i5-4690k

Memory: 2x4GB GSKILL Ripjaws - F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM

HDDs to RAID1: 2x1TB WD RE SATAIII 64MB - WD1003FBYZ

Power supply: LC Power 550W - LC6550GP V2.2

Monitor:LG LED D-SUB - 19M35A-B (with DVI to D-SUB adapter)

Keyb.+Mouse: Logitech USB MK120

UPS Phasak 1000VA - PH9410

Checked all and pressed power button... the hardware boots up, HDDs, Fans, but nothing on monitor neither beep sound of boot...OMG.

Hold power button, system shuts down, try again... same result.

Well, CPU not supported I thought...

Tried to put CMOS jumper as described to try a recovery BIOS update trough file RL0326.BIO from USB Pen 512MB... nothing, as CPU not supported BIOS would not recover from file...

Last chance, as I sold some PCs with processors Intel i5-4440 to a client I contact him and toke my system and used the i5-4440 and his monitor.

System boot up flawless and I updated BIOS to latest 0326, load defaults, reboot etc.

Now the tricky part...

I installed my i5-4690k back in, pressed power button and the same previous result, no image on screen but FANs and HDDs boot up... OMG.

Then I hold the power button to shutdown and was checking the VGA cable and adapter thinking it might be a little loose and pressed power button again...

The system boot up flawlessly, I thought it might be the VGA cable or adapter loose besides no boot beep so I came back to my office.

Well, the problem was just half solved, the motherboard now does boot up with the i5-4690k but I've at least two problems:

1-If I try to enter BIOS setup with my monitor LG 19M35A-B the visual BIOS probably use a higher frequency and my monitor shows error "Out of Range 63.9 kHz / 60Hz". So I got to use another older monitor Samsung SyncMaster 152V to be able to enter BIOS setup.

But then If I enter BIOS and then exit, the system hangs on the reboot stage, HDDs and FANs keep spinning but no image.

2-When I press power I got Intel logo and F-options, then flash Intel RAID config for a second, then Intel logo and F-options again, then Windows 7 start up,

Then the major problem appears:

When I restart the system it makes all the right procedures but then it hangs on reboot stage again with no image but FANs and HDDs on.

So I have to keep holding power button after Windows 7 shutdown because it hangs when in the stage it should make that boot beep sound without image.

If I press reset button while in Windows, the FANs and HDDs keep on but the system just shuts down the screen and wont complete the reset, it also hangs when it should reboot.

All this I'm convinced its due to the i5-4690K processor, because with the i5-4440 installed I didn't had those hanging problems.

I also tried to disable UEFI boot and keep defaults except the power option that I had configured to Power On in case of power failure because other way I can't get the computer to boot up if the power fails and the UPS shutdown Windows before it also shuts itself off after 99 minutes or in case battery is low.

This all also happens with just minimum basic components, motherboard, processor, memory, power supply, power button, monitor with DVI to D-SUB adapter.

I need urgent a solution, either there's some BIOS configuration that work around this reboot hang and Out of Range video problem.

Or also urgent, the best I hope to get, a BIOS update that support correctly Intel i5-4690k which I think its the issue.

Best regards.

Haswell Refresh & Intel 8-Series Motherboards: it's a shame.

Hi to all.
I think the title is explicit.

As most people knows, Intel 8-Series chipsets based Motherboards will work with Haswell Refresh CPUs, just a BIOS update is needed.

I know that future Broadwell chips won't work.

I decided to build a workstation using an Intel motherboard, DH87MC, with latest Core i7 4790 Haswell Refresh CPU. Clean 4790, not 4790K.

I preferred an Intel 8-series MB rather than an Asus/MSI/etc 9-series based 'cause I use Intel motherboard for years (the oldest build is an ancient AN430TX, for Pentium MMX).

I love Intel motherboard for its clean design, without useless 3rd party chips that causes only driver issues; honestly I'm sad about the decision by Intel to leave MB market.

I'm only a small italian OEM and I know I can't change Intel decisions, but INTEL WAKE UP!

you have the resources to update the BIOS to your MBs to support your latest Haswell Refresh CPUs.

PLEASE MAKE THIS BIOS UPDATE, Intel, you are the biggest IT Company and a lot of persons bought your MBs for years (like me).

let's make this update, to honor the trust we put in you.

DQ87PG limiting CPU speed?

$

I'm using BIOS version 148 and a Core i3-4340 @ 3.60 GHz which (according to the board's compatible processor list) is compatible with this board.

The BIOS shows me a "Host Clock Frequency" of 100 MHz and 2.70 GHz - indicating that the CPU is running at a maximum speed of 2.70 GHz instead of 3.60 GHz. And indeed, the processor cores' maximum non-turbo ratio is fixed at 27 which I cannot change! Moreover, CPU speed and frequency tools show that the maximum speed step of my CPU is in fact merely 2.70 GHz instead of 3.60 GHz!

So, what do I have to do to get the maximum CPU speed of 3.60 GHZ I've payed for?

Boot Manager almost empty

Dear community,

I have a problem with my DH87RL (Rev 401) with the latest Bios-Version RL0326.

After installing Win 8.1 64bit on the SSD (8 months ago) everything was fine. I have 2 optical drives, a SSD (EVO 840) and a Seagate HD (also with bootable Win 8.1). All these drives were shown in BIOS and in the boot-manager (UEFI mode and legacy mode). When I pluged in a USB stick (e.g. Ubunto or Win PE) I could also see it in the BIOS and the boot manager and I was able to boot from the stick.

Now I have the following problem: I couldn't boot from a USB-boot-stick that was displayed in the boot manager. Therefore I disabled the legacy mode and once I had booted again I switched it back on.

Now when I choose the boot-manager using F10, only my SSD and the UEFI : LAN connection are displayed. The Seagate-HD and every USB-boot-stick are missing. In BIOS, under UEFI boot page, all drives (except the optical drives) are available and I can boot from the HD with a double click. Under the legacy boot settings everything (optical drives) is missing

I already tried the default values without success.

I assume that I should erase the NVRAM or are there other solutions for this problem?

If I must erase the NVRAM, how best to do it (remove the BIOS battery)?

Thanks Mike

How to use Deep Color with HD Graphics 4000

$

Hello,

I've created a photography workstation with the following:

-DQ77KB

-i7-3770S

-NEC MultiSync PA241W

For graphics, I'm using the integrated HD Graphics 4000 in the CPU, and am using a Display Port cable.  Everything claims to support deep color, but the display drivers only indicate True Color is available (24-bit color depth).  How can I enable deep color with HD Graphics 4000?

The following indicates that deep color is supported by HD Graphics 4000:

http://software.intel.com/en-us/node/182971

NEC Monitor information specifying deep color support with Display Port connection:

[http://www.necdisplay.com/documents/ColorBrochures/PA241W.271W.301W_SpecBrochure.pdf | http://www.necdisplay.com/documents/ColorBrochures/PA241W.271W.301W_SpecBrochure.pdf]

I am using Windows 8 Pro x64 with 8GB RAM, and have specified in the BIOS to use 1 GB RAM as graphics memory.  I do have all the latest graphics drivers and firmware.

Thanks,
