DQ35JO Xeon X3360 Windows 8.1 Error 0x0000004C

Hi all,

I'm completely new to this forum and joined because I have a peculiar problem with my Intel DQ35JO board (latest bios) and an Intel Xeon 3360  CPU running windows 8.1.

From the beginning;

I have an old system I converted into a media centre PC;

Intel DQ35JO Motherboard

Intel core 2 quad q8200 (2.33Ghz)

8gb ddr2 ram PC5300 667

AMD Radeon 5450 Pcie

Sata II HDD

LG Blu-Ray player.

Windows 8.1 with media centre

Everything runs sweet as it is but I managed to secure a Xeon 3360 (2.83Ghz socket 775) cpu so I thought i would give it a go, swapped the Q8200 cpu for the xeon, started PC, boots into windows fine but Windows system still shows my old cpu (Q8200).

Reboot into bios, bios recognizes new Xeon X3360 @ 2.83Ghz, save and exit then nothing, do a hard reboot (hold down power button to turn off) Windows starts to load then error  0x0000004C.

Have removed Radeon 5450 and set to boot to on-board video but still the same, windows hangs at  0x0000004C error, bios is set identical to Q8200 as far as I can tell but same problem.

The one thing I have noticed , in bios maintenance mode it states microcode not updated? Have tried re-flashing latest bios but get "I already have this bios installed" error.

Error  0x0000004C is associated with incorrect or missing microcodes, cpu stepping info and such, I was wondering if the bios is corrupt or faulty? is there another way of injecting the microcodes?

The CPU obviously is compatible with Windows 8.1 as it boots under the guise of a Q8200.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Reg.

Dear Forum,

My Monitor is AOC LED monitor, it works fine till date but from few days my monitor shows "No Signal" after 15-20min of working. RAM/Hard Disk and Monitor working fine but after sometimes CPU is neither restart or shut down nor showing processor blinking light, it require to power off from source. Few days before I installed 2GM DDR2 RAM in addition to 1GB DDR2 RAM, I tried replacing each other and removing one by one. I also tried to clean CPU by blowing air to make dust free. Also I replaced new VGA cable by old one. Monitor works fine but he problem persist after so many efforts.

Is it due to CMOS battery or Motherboard problem..??

Please suggest the way forward to solve this problem.

Regards,

Ashok

My parents have Intel D945GCCR motherboard, and I've just found them a replacement e3400 CPU. Problem is, it seems to be stuck on x6 multiplier and working only at 1200 MHz.

What's the catch?

A security issue DZ87KLT-75K (BIOS ver. 0451, supervisor password installed). In the case of a chassis intrusion event you can access the BIOS by F2 without entering the supervisor password and change various settings including resetting information about chassis intrusion.

Tested on BIOS ver. 0450 and 0451.

DH61AG | new gen. Bios 105 breaks TV Card recognise

We are developing digital Signage Systems using the DH61AG. Since 2 Years we are build System with the
same HW.

On two of my test systems Installed the new Bios gen 105. (Update from old gen 45 to 99 transition,104,105).

Since that day the bios has problems to recognize and initialize the TV Tuner Card stable. some time it
works, sometimes the card is not detected and not visible in the Bios. it’s a try and error game with power on / off

Both system where in the lab for over 1 year without any problem detecting the PCI-E Tuner Card (heavy daily use)we didn’t touch the HW from

the system for over one year, only the bios update was done. since that, I observe on both system the same behavior.

it is not the Tuner HW Card, its definably some changes in the Bios.

Unfortunately  it’s not possible to downgrade to 45 Bios Version, so the system are broken at the moment.

Does any one else run into this issue ?

Intel please help and fix it in the next Bios.  (106 ?)

Thx.

DX79SR and USB 3.0 Firmware Updates

I'm sure like most of you, your USB 3.0 ports are not working under Windows 8.  When I saw the firmware updates dated 5/9/2013, I thought finally.  Well after installing the update I can say they still don't work.  I install both updates, front and rear.  The front update processes fine...and those ports may work, but I don't have them hooked up.  The rear update throws the message Device not found!USB.PNG

Any help to get this working under Windows 8, would be much appreciated.

feature request: UEFI boot order menu for X79TO/SI/SR

i would like to request this basic feature of any pc firmware. these motherboards only have boot order selection for the bios boot mode, UEFI can boot only one loader, the last installed loader(or have to configure it manually in EFI partition,), for more options, people must select loader every boot (with luck if firmware catchs F2 key pressed at boot), or have to install loaders as rEFInd, making boot process painfully slow.

have this request any future?

besides would like to ask: why these boards can't have Intel Visual-bios(sic)?

Event Viewer: irstrtsv error: Unable to read LBA sector via passthru

I have a DZ77GA-70k MB running Win7-64 and RST Raid-1.

I was troubleshooting another problem and I see this irstrtsv error in the Event Viewer.

"Error: Unable to read LBA sector via passthru. : The request is not supported."

<See attached screen shot of the Event Viewer>

The first 6 irstrtsv errors after system startup are:

"Error: Unable to read LBA sector directly. : The system cannot find the file specified."

Then the balance of the errors have the passthru reference.

My system has been running for over a year (since Jan2013) and this error started on Jan.10, 2014 of this year.

I do not see a performance issue due to the error and the problem I was troubleshooting deals with Windows Backup: VSS, SPP errors when the backup fails to complete.

This irstrtsv error occurs when the system starts, there is a cluster of 6 errors in a few seconds, then repeats every 5 minutes with another cluster of 6 irstrtsv errors and continues until I shut it down.

A couple of days ago I upgraded the RST to the latest driver 12.8.0.1016 and that did not solve the problem.

I don't remember changing the system BIOS or RST configuration or loading any application in January or in or around 1/10/2014.

Any thoughts.

Thanks,

Rod...

SR-IOV support for Intel DH87RL or other intel desktop boards

The thread : VT-d hardware support on chipsets Z87 and H87  says that the boards DH87MC, DH87RL, DQ87PG, DZ87KLT-75K all support VT-d.

I was wondering if SR-IOV is also supported for a board like DH87RL? If not, is there any other intel desktop board with SR-IOV support?

Thanks

Can't even see BIOS screen after changing setup

Hi,

First, my desktop configuration:

Intel DB85FL

Core i5 4550

HD 500 GB

8 GB RAM

GTX 650 1GB

Recently I reinstalled my SO and did it sucessfully so I went back to the BIOS to change the boot order (I remember I unmarked Legacy Boot and UEFI boot). After I've done that, my computer wont boot anymore. I mean: not even the BIOS screen (that intel symbol with the options to hit on the keyboard - F2 for enter setup, F7 to update, etc) appears. No video is displayed (the monitor keeps asking to plug the HDMI cable) and i can hear long beeps and long intervals for a while and suddenly they stop, but the computer still works (all fans and leds are on since the begining, but no video is displayed).

I already tried:

- Checking RAM.

- Running with onboard video.

- Recoverying BIOS with a .BIO file in a pendrive (done sucessfully but the problem is still occurring)

- Unplugning the jumper (wich lets me see the BIOS screen but displays that 4 option menu in which any option I choose it will ask to reconnect the jumper and problem comes back when plug it and power the pc again).

Can anybody help me? I can't belive I just broke my mother board configuring the boot order D:

Hi!

I have a Intel DP35DP (latest bios), intel E5300 and 4GB RAM(2*2GB);

The pc worked well until several days ago. Now it just boot onto a black screen (with an underline in the top left corner).

I tried to reinstall the bis (wtih the .bio file and the bios jumper out) but it does nothing.

I removed the cmos battery for over an hour, etc.

What can I do now?

Thanks,

Robert.

On a perfectly "well" DH87MC system, I upgraded the mSATA to a Windows/boot ready 256G ssd.  That's it, no other changes. Then;

1)Power back up,

2)A few flashes of BIOS text(nothing complete)

3)And that's it.

4)Teach me, I guess

Things I've tried:

a)Disconnect all external and Internal connections from/to MoBo, Sata, USB, monitors, etc. etc., remove Fire-wire card (All working previously)

b)Install New PSU (550 to 750W)

c)Swap Memory sticks around (2x8)

d)Swap old ssd back in

e)Still nothing, no disk activity light, etc.

f)The Power light comes on, and the Power Fault LED is ON and every so-often the Power Fault LED will go off for a short time (< 1 second), come back on and then off for 1-2 second, then back on.  Repeat.

System is down and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Help and many thanks,

normalnorman
