Board Starting Up

I have an Intel DQ57tm 1156 Board with i7 870 cpu with 4 gigs ddr3 (1333)  Samsung 2gig modules, with a Asus GTX 550ti when i startup the PC the CPU fan spins for a

second then shuts down then automatically spins again then shuts down again consecutively, the board eventually started up after a while and i installed

windows 8 64bit PC was running smooth for hours without any glitches, next day then all of a sudden when i tried starting it up again then the problem started again,

I already tried switching memory modules checked if the CPU had enough thermal paste for possible overheating and tested with on board display as well.

Any help resolving this issue will  be highly appreciated.

Good day. I have a motherboard DX79T0 and intel rapid storage technology enterprice - sata option rom 3.5.0.1005. There are new drives for 1TB and a 64MB cache.

When I do a raid - all right. Loading OS and can be placed on the raid anything.

After restarting the raid damaged. Error Occured ( 0) two drives of 4. One disc is recovered , the second is not. If you run Rebild - then still damaged after a reboot or during operation. On the other drives the same. How can I solve the problem and that the raid was working properly ?

Intel deleted the DZ68BC Configuration Label (and all other configuration labels I looked for) from its download website for some reason. Does anyone here have it on their blog for download or does it exist somewhere else? The author of other ones, maybe all of them, was Lois Hill using Word 2007.

DQ87PG Motherboard inoperable after BIOS update v149 (latest)

$

I updated my BIOS to v149 hoping it would solve some minor intermittent USB issues I was having with an external drive.

Everything seemed to have gone fine after going through the BIOS update. "Flash update successful" and what not. The motherboard was made in 1st Q of 2014 and had a stock bios v144. I did not do any incremental updates between 144 and  149

After changing the BIOS settings (now version 149) to fully UEFI bios, and disabling legacy boot, my DQ87PG motherboard refuses to boot.

I get (x2) two one sec beeps. And then nothing. No screen. No HD activity that would tell me loading an OS. Nothing

But the worst part of all is that I have no way of accessing the BIOS since the CPU I'm using (intel approved xeon e-1230 v3)

doesn't have an integrated GPU. So I get no video from my PCIe graphics card. Which tells me perhaps the graphics card isn't uefi compliant. Maybe when the computer tries to boot it thinks there's no GPU to use. This is my best guess

I've tried clearing the CMOS by taking the battery off for a few hours. But that didn't do anything. If this is indeed a BIOS settings problem, clearing the CMOS achieved nothing

So it would seem I'm SOL.

However.. I'm able to get video if I do a BIOS recovery (taking the security BIOS jumpers off). This allows me to downgrade/upgrade BIOS

So what I've done so far is try to downgrade incrementally all the way down to BIOS 139. Any BIOS files below 139 the motherboard seemed to ignore.

Trying all BIOS between 148 and 139 seem fruitless. The exact behavior was observed. Two consecutive two one-sec beeps. And then nothing. No screen.

Anyone out there experienced this problem? Anyone with ideas on a fix before I toss this board out?

Thanks

DH61AG memory problems

Hi Guys

About 18 months maybe 2 years ago I bought the above motherboard, put it away and started buying the bits to make something a bit special. I finally managed to get everything I wanted by the start of this year

i5 3.1ghz quad coreProcessor

256GB MSATA drive

DVD ram Drive

Intel advanced wireless card

8GB SODIMM memory stick (thinking about future upgrade )

running windows 7 64 bit for now but looking to run Linux with windows in virtual environment in the future

I've been putting PC's together for 20 plus years and built some nice ones for other people so I decided to do the same for me, I finally managed to find time to put it together, everything worked fine until i wanted to do the memory upgrade this week.  I ordered the memory from Offtek same place as I ordered the first 8GB so it would match the original memory was place in the second slot (B) closest to the motherboard, all working fine WooHoo then this week I ordered the second stick mainly so my son could use this PC for his college work when he starts his level 3 later this year

Well I plugged the memory into the spare (A) slot turned the PC on after plugging in the power.    Nothing from the video, CPU fan running. I've checked both memory sticks in the "B" slot it starts no problem, place memory into slot "A" just CPU fan running, I've tried a BIOS update to "0045" but still the same is there any way the memory slots can be disabled or enabled, I've also removed the BIOS battery and fully powered down, but still can't get the "A" slot to work

Anyone got any suggestions Please

TIA

Pat

DP45SG (6)

Hi, I wonder if there is anyone who could give some advise on the following case please?

I am an ASUS mobo fan, always used their desktop motherboards, but, well, I decided to try Intel this time, so here is my story:

I recently purchased the following items here in the Netherlands (Europe), all brand new:

- Intel Boxed Intel Core2 Duo Processor E8400 (6M Cache 3.00 GHz 1333 MHz FSB) LGA775

- Samsung HDD/500GB SATAII 16MB 3.5'' 7200rpm

- Intel Motherboards Extreme Series / ATX/ P45 Express Chipset with ICH10R / 4xDDR3@1333 (DP45SG)

- Corsair XMS3 DDR3,1333-4GK

- Samsung DVD RW 22x Black Bulk SATA

- AOpen A600A ATX box Silver/Black with a 350 watt PSU

- Microsoft Win Pro 7 64-bit English 1pk DSP OEI DVD

and used following (used) graphics card: MSI R4350-D256H

- later on: (also brand new, cause I forgot that item), a Linksys wireless-N PCI adapter with dual band model WMP600N-EU

When packing out the boxes, looking at all these great items I found out

a) Intel Corporation added a note in the mobo box stating: "you will need to use a USB diskette drive to install the Intel Matrix Storage raid driver

during the Windows XP installation process" Now, that raised an eyebrow; I spend a lot of money on the best around, SATA HDD's and all, but
    Intel
steps back 20 years in time?, and wants me to install something, before Windows can install a RAID driver??

Why, sure I need to be in the BIOS, for one, and second: I have no USB diskette drive with USB or SATA connector

But.. I was installing Windows7, so what the hay, I left this out..then

b) the Intel mobo had no PS2 outlet, so I could not connect a mouse and keyboard.

Hence, I could not start up the computer and get in the BIOS menu, like I am used to do. That raised a second eyebrow, I completely overlooked this missing spec. I solved that buying a special USB splitter cable, on which I could connect a PS2 mouse and PS2 keyboard.

So, starting up the desktop, I found the BIOS was ok, DVD ROM was the first boot part. Nothing needed changing, fine by me.

So I inserted the Windows 7 operating system, so far so good. After that, I had not activated Windows right away, cause the wireless card I added

from Linksys (after first installing the Linksys driver), wasn't recognized. After that the computer wouldn't

start anymore. I didn't get anything anymore. Some guy at work advised to remove the CMOS battery for a while, which I did.

Sure enough, I could re-install Windows7. I connected a network cable this time, to activate Windows on-line.

All was well. But then, I decided to download the latest Intel mobo drivers from this website ("Intel recommends that you download...etc.." boy was I dum), I was prompted to restart the computer after installing the latest Intel chipset drivers.

And then, dear readers, the computer went dead, and has stayed dead. I can start the MOBO outside the casing, the fans work, the DVD rom drives starts up, but I see no USB power going to the USB board and mouse, my screen is black, I cannot get into the BIOS. If I connect the DVD rom, and disconnect the HDD, to start to start Windows7 from the DVD, it doesn't work. Makes no difference: the screen remains black, no BIOS, no message, nothing.

The trick with leaving out the CMOS battery or the jumper on the BIOS reset connectors doesn't change anything.

The computer won't start. The DVD rom drive starts, but the Windows DVD doesn't give me a screen, or a BIOS, just the fans are blowing, for the rest... nothing, nothing... Is there anybody that can tell me how I can solve this?

DG41TY - 2 Bios Beeps & error codes 50 and EB - what is wrong

DG41TY - 2 Bios Beeps & error codes 50 and EB - what is wrong

I have been using my new DG41TY motherboard along with the Q9550 processor for 2 days. The system seems to be working OK and I am especially pleased with the sound I get when I link the audio output to my stereos. My operating system is Ubuntu 9.04 32 bit, so I do not have access to any of the diagnostic software that is available for Windows systems.

My problem is that every time I boot the system I hear two high-pitch beeps: one just before the screen lits at all and the second when the operating system starts to load (there is text about Grub etc).

Moreover there are what I take to be error codes on the lower right hand side of the screen. From the very first "50" is visible. Then it is replaced by "EB" and then that fades away. After that my computer boot and runs smoothly.

From various Intel pages I have gathered that 2 bios beeps may mean "Parity Error". Code "50" seems to relate to PCI cards etc. Similarly EB = "Calling Legacy Option ROMs".

I have tried to find what is wrong and I have removed, in turn,

- 2 memory chips (both Kingston KVR667D2N5/2G)

- my PCIe-card (my only PCI-device)

- connection to cd-dvd device

- connection to the front USB slot

- connection to the front audio slots.

Nothing has been helpful so far. The two beeps and error codes appear every time I boot the system.

The system monitor utility of Ubuntu shows appropriate memory and 4 working processors. The temperature and voltage readings available from the Bios system seem to be OK.

So what do the beeps and error codes signify? Is there something wrong with the motherboard. I have no PCI devices, so those slots remain untested.

The only thing that is slightly unusual with the system is that I use a SATA 2,5" hard disk (Samsung Springpoint M6 320GB). The symptoms also appeared when I used the IDE cable to connect the HDD with the motherboard. (That is possible using the Sugoi adapter SATA-TR2535 available from System Talks, Inc. Japan.)

By the way, the motherboard package came with a legacy IDE cable that is defective: it fits so loosely with the motherboard slot that the cable falls of by itself. I am using my old cable to with the cd-dvd device, but disconnecting the cable still left me with the error signals.

Would it not be a great idea, if Intel released their system tools as bootable cd-roms, making the tools available to all possible operating systems?

Should I suspect something is wrong with the motherboard? Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Thank you!

No USB Mouse-Keyboard at Windows Log On DP45SG

I recently purchased a new DP45SG board as a platform for testing applications compatibility for multiple operating systems. Since that time the board has been testing my sanity by challenging the entire concept of hardware and software compatibility. After weeks of trial and error memory R&R's, I located acceptable DDR3 SDRAM and finally managed to boot into the BIOS for the first time today.

Unfortunately, now I'm being prevented from logging into Windows. Although the USB keyboard & mouse work in BIOS and on my partition manager, at Windows log on screen they don't respond. I can not type a password or get past the log on screen in either my Windows 2000 or XP Pro OS partitions.

I've already tried different keyboards, USB ports, enabling/disabling USB options in BIOS, etc. Has anyone run into this issue before?

Here are more details:

DX58SO no boot, no beeps

Here is my problem which started yesterday after a manual shut down of the system. Everything was working perfectly before I shut it down to run errands. When I came back and powered the system back on, it shut off after a few seconds. I pushed the power button it came back on with no video, no POST and no beeps. It then started to cycle the restart, and shutdown repeatedly and will not make it an farther. I built this system myself and has been running for almost 2 months normally. I had a problem with the first Mobo and had to return it, but got the same make and model. the original mobo wouldn't accept the RAM, it beeped if I had more than 1 stick of memory installed. The replacement mobo worked just fine. That is until yesterday when all of this started to happen.
Here's what I have tried up to this point. I reseated all of the power cords, uninstaled everything except for the cpu and psu. Without RAMinstalled, I got 3 beeps,I have also installed the RAM one at a time in all of the 3 dimmslots with no luck, without the hard drive installed, no beeps, without the video card no beeps. I have reset the CMOS jumper with the battery out and left it unplugged for about an hour. Still nothing. I have reseated the graphicscard also all to no avail. Any suggestions would be helpful.

DH87MC, catastropic electrical failure

$

One week ago, I wanted to copy my Windows 8 from a 1 gig WD sata drive to my intel 525 120 GB msata drive to speed it up, not enough room so I purchased a Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB, turn the computer off, switch power off in back, replaced msata, turn back on within 30 seconds received a message catastropic electrical failure, turn computer off, ordered new power supply, install and still no boot, so I buy a new WD hard drive, install and nothing, unable to find operating system and a few other messages, I had left in a WD 750 sata, so I put the Windows 8 install disk in, comes up and it doesn't see any drive other than the new Samsung SSD, I install Windows 8, works great, then I removed the WD 750 and it won't boot again, even after putting it back in.  I went to YouTube and ran across a vid of a guy who went through how to deal with a locked drive, took me about 30 minutes but it worked, it boots up to the SSD, did that catastrophic electric failure burn up my SATA connections?  It did fry 3 drives, one was brand new..........I also ordered a new motherboard, never had anything like this happen....

DZ68 chipset and Smart Response Technology

$

If I go to http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/CS-032826.htm, I see that "Z68, Z87, Q87, H87, Z77, Q77, H77 Express" chipsets support Smart Response Technology. But if I download the SRT User Guide further down on that page, I read that only "Z87, Q87, H87, Z77, Q77, H77 Express" chipsets are valid. Is that just a clerical error in the document or is there a different version of the user guide for DZ68 chipsets? I ask this because the forum includes many comments from a number of people who had trouble configuring SRT.

Also, that user guide has some photos showing how to use SRT. On the Enable Acceleration dialog, there is a selection for "Full disk capacity (maximum 64 GB)." Does this imply that there is an absolute limit of 64 GB with Smart Response Technology or was that simply the size of the SSD used in the example?

Smart Response Technology and too-big SSD

With respect to Smart Response Technology on a DZ68BC and Sandy Bridge CPU, the instructions imply that a letter should not be assigned to the SSD, but does it matter whether it is formatted?

I would like to use an entire Intel 530 120 GB SSD, but it appears that the maximum for RST is 64 GB. Is there any way to persuade RST to use the entire SSD? If I don't format the SSD, will RST only create one large partition for itself?

Hi guys,

I've never really used the Grey Marvell SATA ports, but now I wanted to add another HDD and decided to and cannot for the life of me get them to work. Is there anything I need to do?

I have secondary SATA enabled in BIOS. And when I go to BIOS to see my sata ports, it only shows my Intel SSD connected to SATA 0 and doesn't show any of my connected drives.  It also does not show my grey SATA ports in BIOS?  Only shows SATA 0-5

Blue SATA 0: Intel 520 240gb SSD

Blue SATA 1: Seagate 1.5tb Barracuda HDD

Black SATA 2: 500gb Seagate Barracuda HDD

Black SATA 3: 1.5TB Seagate Barracuda HDD

Black SATA 4: DVD Burner

Black SATA 5: Bluray Drive

Grey SATA 6: 3TB Seagate Barracuda HDD

Grey SATA 7: Empty

I'm using:

OS: Windows 8.1  Pro 64bit

Motherboard: Intel DZ77GA-70K

BIOS Version: 0066

BIOS Mode: UEFI

Any help would be much appreciated as I want to get my new 3TB HDD working. Thanks
