driver hd audio device 82801jd

I have a dell 780 desktop tower running windows 10 and hardware detectors show the audio device as an Intel 82801JD/D0 ICH10 Family. It's based on the motherboard. The problem I have is I am also running VMware and the guest machines do not have audio. I think this is because the windows 10 driver is a Microsoft generic one that VMware can't use. I searched on the dell website and the intel website for a more specific driver for this audio device but can't find one. Is there a driver?

DP55WB 4TB USB Drive Windows 10

I have a number of DP55WB machines that are successfully running WIndows 10.

I just purchased a Seagate 4TB external USB drive but I cannot make it work with this MB.

I can see the drive in the BIOS and it appears in Device Manager as a "USB Attached SCSI (UAS) Mass Storage Device". It is marked with a yellow exclamation point triangle and the device status is "This device cannot start. (Code 10).

Can anyone shed some light on the problem?

Thanks,

Geoff

DZ77BH-55K USB2 not working at all, but USB1 works fine

Hello everybody,

I recently acquired a brand new DZ77BH-55K motherboard currently running with the latest bios update (BHZ7710H.86A.0096.2012.1219.0921). It's powered by a high quality 650W Seasonic power supply, which is more than enough to run smoothly everything I have in my system.

The problem I've been encountering right from the start (at least ever since I did my first bios update few days after its setup) is that absolutely no USB port (either rear or front, USB3 or USB2) is able to make any of my USB2 peripherals work, while any USB1 peripheral (mouse, keyboard, several midi controllers, etc...) works perfectly. I didn't care much at the beginning since I only had an old 1 Gb flashdrive that could have been using USB2, but I recently acquired a quite expensive external soundcard which also happens to use USB2 and this made me realize that the problem seems much more serious than I thought (not just like the usual stuff that happens all the time with Windows and unrecognized flashdrives).

Even worse, the behavior of plugged USB2 devices is sometimes quite weird and scaring. Most of the time the device just seem to be stuck in a power ignition loop. The light from my USB stick keeps flashing eternally and my soundcard does pretty much the same (which is really not very reassuring considering its price). If you're lucky, sometimes it quickly stops and Windows pops an "Unrecognized Device" error up. I think this has a lot more chances to happen when you try this with a USB3 port.

Obviously, there's absolutely nothing wrong with these devices, as they're working perfectly on my laptop right off the bat. At first, I really thought it was something to do within Windows 7, so I did quite some struggling related to unrecognized USB devices, but after giving up and doing a fresh Windows 7 install, the problem was still there. So, while I was at it, I booted up a fresh Live-CD of Linux (puppy linux distribution) to be really sure. Plugged a USB1 flashdrive. Worked in any port. Tried with my USB2 flashdrive. Didn't work anywhere... So I am now quite sure that my USB ports are completely broken!

I also tried to fiddle with some settings in the bios (disabled legacy mode for USB, disabled most ports, etc...), disconnected front panel USB cables, removed all my PCI hardware, apart from my GTX 560 graphic card, etc... Everything with no luck.

So there you have it. I seriously hope someone will be able to help me, because I pretty much tried everything that I could do!

Thanks in advance,
Denis

Edit 1 : Oh yeah, Just in case, I also tried many time to unplug fully my computer and let it rest.

PS : here's more details about my setup.

Please help. DX79TO cannot boot with 4x2gb 1333mhz 7-7-7-21-2t ram. Motherboard displays ram related issues but these rams do work on other boards.

I have also tried putting only one ram stick and still the same errors show up. However if i put the ram stick in the black slots I get three beeps, which means memory issue. But no beeps when placed in the blue slots. Is it cause of the timings. This board is brand new. Mother displays errors on the seven segment display, the codes are b7, b9, 2a. I think these codes are related to memory issues as well. I have ordered 2x4gb 1600mhz cl9 ram sticks, once they arrive I will test them. my cpu is xeon e5 2680.

Can the DP67BA motherboard overclock?

I found a DP67BA for sale at a fair price, but i´m finding mixed responses regarding her capabilities. Some people say this mobo can only downclock. Some say it can overclock, but it´s limited. Some say it can overclock, but only in the earlier bios versions.
Does anyone actually overclocked this mobo and can answer if it can truly overclock?

Desktop Boards vs Server Boards

I'm getting ready to put together a server for a VERY small office (of only 3 computers). They will be mostly hosting Quickbooks files and some other software over the network on it. 1 of the systems will be in another city about 300 miles away which will be connected via a hardware VPN. I've never really dabbled with server motherboards, but in the past they seemed to serve a much more useful role. Back in the day a server board gave way to optimized drivers, chipsets, ECC, RAID and of course for the higher end, a second socket for dual processors. But when looking at it these days, it seems almost pointless to purchase a server board/chipset unless your going to be slapping a Xeon or Opteron in it. Is this for the most part a fair assessment or am I missing something? I realize that if your servicing a network with a good number of users and load that a server specific CPU may be a must, but in this case it just plain out isn't.

I'm thinking that either a little i3-2120 should cut it, or maybe... an i5 just to give them a little room to grow. Due to all of the talk about bulldozer being "really a server chip", and the fact that its supports ECC ram, is this something to consider over an Intel setup? This customer really wants to pinch a penny and find a nickle.

No Audio from HDMI Out - Board DH87MC

I am using a computer connected to 2 monitors in parallel (cloned).

My old computer had a Nvidia graphic card with DVI and HDMI outputs. I had audio out from the speakers and the HDMI out simultaneously.

Now I replaced my computer to one with DH87MC motherboard. No graphic card except the one on the board.

Same 2 Monitors same HDMI cable.

Latest BIOS latest Audio drivers downloaded from Intel.

Windows 10   X64

I have 2 simultaneously video on both monitors.

No audio from the monitor connected to the HDMI output. Even as a stand alone monitor.

I think that I have tried any advice that I read in this forum. I changes settings in the Audio driver and Bios. Nothing helps.

Before I give up and buy a new Nvidia graphic card (because I think that my board has a physical problem with the audio part)

I would like to here some opinions or get some advise or solution to this issue.

Thanks

Intel D5400XS Skulltrail with recent graphics cards?

$

Hello together,

I am fiddling around with some quite old Intel Desktop-Board, the D5400XS "Skulltrail".
I love this board so much, since it was my "dream" as a child, but i could never afford it. So i bought one some months ago and started a case- and system-modding project like "Anno 2008: Skulltrail in 2016?"

This project is nearly finished, but i ran into trouble with two major points:

- The board won't let me upgrade to Windows 10, because it says my CPUs (2x Intel X5470) are not supporting "CompareExchange128", which has something to do with the 64bit-support (?). Indeed, the CPUs are supporting this operation, on the one hand because Intel is listing those as compatible in the specification sheet and these CPUs are running Windows 10 quite well in another mainboard. This seems to be some BIOS-related issue?

- I want to combine this system with a recent graphics card, the Powercolor Radeon R9 390 PCS+ 8GB (tested in another PC and running well). When the graphics card is installed, all is running fine but the system does not recognize any system drive anymore?! There are two SSDs in my system and they are not deteced anymore after this graphics card is installed. Because of this, booting is not possible anymore. With the previously installed card, a Sapphire Radeon R9 270X, everything is running fine including SSD detection. How can that be possible? Those two cards are similiar on chip-level so why does the one card run and the other one does not?

Can those two problems be adressed with a BIOS-Update? Is anyone able to do this for me? The latest BIOS-version is already installed so there is no possibility for me to continue without having someone being able to program an update here...
I would love to get this machine running...

Thank you so much in advance for your thoughts and your help!
