DH87RL - BIOS 0331 only shows one "Legacy" boot device in F10 menu

I updated the DH87RL desktop board from BIOS version 0326 to 0331, but now when pressing [F10] all "Legacy Bios" boot devices are not displayed anymore, except the first device on the "SATA-0" port of the DH87RL.

This means I cannot boot from CD or DVD anymore, as the device is connected on "SATA-2".

Furthermore a bootable USB-flashdrive (Legacy Boot) is no longer displayed in [F10] menu with BIOS version 0331.

If I enter the setup utiliy [F2] (Intel Visual BIOS) then all currently connected (Legacy BIOS) bootable devices are shown, no matter if SATA or USB.

Another Problem is, that the new BIOS version 0331 does no longer save any change of the boot priority of the devices in the Legacy Boot section of the setup.

Note: I flashed the DH87RL unter MS Windows 10 using the file RLH8710H.86A.0331.EB.EXE with only one SATA-device connected to the DH87RL.

After a re-flash to BIOS version 0326 the boot menu [F10] is shown fully and it is also possible to change the boot device priority in the setup utility [F2].

I have not tested BIOS versions 0327 or 0330, since the BIOS version 0331 contains the Intel CPU Microcode Update for the purpose of the Spectre V2 mitigation, so this should be the one to use.

DP35DP Motherboard - RAM voltage requirements and Intel Integrator Assistant

$

Hi all

I have a DP35DP motherboard in my PC.  Until recently I have been using a 32-Bit OS and so could only use two 2GB sticks of RAM.  I had another two sticks, but I kept them as spares.  But I am now on a 64-Bit OS and so want to use all four sticks (8GB total).  The RAM I am using is Corsair XMS2 CM2X2048 - 6400C5. 800MHz 5-5-5-18.

The first question is to do with RAM voltage.  Although all four sticks are the same in every other respect, they are different voltages.  One pair is 1.8V and the other pair is 1.9V.  Can they all be used together on the motherboard or should they all be the same voltage?

Secondly, when I built the PC and had someone help me and they used the Intel Integrator Assistant (IIA) to make an adjustment to the RAM voltage.  They were never totally sure whether it worked or not.  Is there anyway I can tell now whether it worked and what the current RAM voltage is on the mobo?  It does not tell you in the BIOS.

Thirdly, I tried to find out for myself by loading the latest IIA I could find, which was IIA_1.1.5.862.  Is this the latest, and if not what is and where can I get it?  I cannot find anywhere in the version I have that tells you the RAM voltage or lets you adjust it.  Can't find nothing of the sort.  I'd also like to possibly change the BIOS splash image file, but the option is greyed out in the IIA version I have.

Would most appreciate any help.  Let me know if you need any more info.

Cheers

My pc wont boot anymore after updating nvidia gt 210 to R9 280X gpu. I have tried to downgrade and upgrade bios revisions but neither of those help, I started with the newest bios revision. Motherboards leds are showing E6 and on the post screen righ lower corner there is 5A. It is impossible to even acces bios when the R9 280X is connected. I am using i7 870 cpu and 2x4gb kinston ram. Does anyone have any idea what I can try to make this gpu work? Also it does not matter if my sata drive is connected or not.

What BIOS settings are required to get motherboard to recognize video card?

I'm having trouble installing a video card in my computer (specs. detailed below). Without the video card, everything works fine. I can boot into the OS without a problem, and I can even get into the BIOS setup screen.

But with the video card installed - and the HDMI cable plugged into it instead of the motherboard - I get the following:

  • I turn on the machine, and it stays on this screen:

BIOS_startup_screen.png

  • I can't get into the BIOS (keystrokes seem to do nothing), and the machine won't boot.
  • After 10 to 15 seconds, I get a short beep.
  • After ~25 seconds, I get another short beep.
  • After 25 - 30 seconds, I get another short beep and the computer goes to this screen:

video_card_startup_screen.png

Here are the video settings in the BIOS:

BIOS_video_settings_screen.png

Hardware:

  • CPU - Intel Core i5-2400
  • Operating System - Windows 7
  • Case - Fractal Design Node 202
  • PSU - Fractal Integra SFX 450W (came with the case)
  • Motherboard - Intel DQ67EP m-ITX
  • CPU Cooler - Cryorig C7 CR-C7A
  • Memory - Crucial 8GB Kit (4GB x 2) DDR3L
  • Storage - PNY CS1311 120GB 2.5" SATA III SSD
  • WiFi Adapter - ANEWKODI 600Mbps Dual Band (2.4G/150Mbps+5G/433Mbps) Wireless USB Wifi Adapter

I know the computer works without this video card; I've also had it working before with a different video card (Nvidia GeForce GTX 580). I also know that this video card has worked before in a different computer.

Do I need to change the video settings in the BIOS to get this working? Should I update my BIOS?

Hey there,

I'm new to the Intel community so allow me to welcome myself!

Anyway, I'm going to upgrade from an AMD FX-9590 to an Intel Core i7-7820X and the water cooler I use (which is a Corsair H110i) supports the LGA 2011-3 Socket. My question is will I able to use this very cooler with the newer LGA 2066 socket?

Help with too many enteries in the BCD

Somewhere along the way, I have inadvertently created too many boot entries in the BCD section labeled "Firmware Application (101fffff)", and my system is booting very slowly, but eventually boots normally.

I have 365 items listed when there should normally be maybe 4-6 entries.  How do I go about getting rid of the duplicates listed after the section labeled "Firmware Application (101fffff)"?

(This is for a EFI boot.)

I know how to remove any duplicates in the Firmware Boot Manager listing section of the dump at the top of the file, but that only works for the duplicate display order items in the Firmware Boot Manager.

I have attached the dump using Bcdedit /enum firmware > enumfw.txt.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Intel DH61CR Motherboard External Graphics Issues

So I started building a PC for a client and the video card will not put out any video (Asus Strix R7 370 4GB) when I put it in this system, I have tested several different power supplies the card works fine in any other system I throw it in I tried disabling onboard video still nothing, I set the main video to the only PCI-E 16x slot on the board still no video, I changed the main video adapter to (PEG) in the bios still no video.

Note: I threw in the most basic video card with no external power I had and it gave video so I know the PCI-E slot on the board is not dead, It seems any video card with an external power I have tried (r7 370) (r7 260) does not work

Motherboard: Intel Motherboard DH61CR G14064-208

CPU: i5 2400

Ram: 8GB Hynix 1333mhz desktop memory

Power Supply: 500W EVGA 80+ Bronze PSU

I'm open to any suggestions thank you.

Regarding changing motherboard

Hi,

I had an Intel DG41TY motherboard which went bad. I am planning to replace it with Gigabyte G41 motherboard. If I simply plug in the new motherboard with other components (viz. HDD, RAM and power supply), will the system start working and show the OS on the screen? I am asking so as the chipset is basically the same (G41). Or do I have to format the HDD and install fresh OS in it? BTW I have a dual boot system - Ubuntu + Win 7.

Thanks and Regards,

Arvind Gupta

Unknown Device ACPI\PNP0A0A\2&daba3ff&2

MODO: Asus H97 Plus

CPU: Intel i4690k  (not overclocked)

OS:  Windows 7 SP1 Pro

======================

Question

================

Is there anyway to identify what this device is or was and if so how?

==================

Background

==================

This may be an ASUS or Windows 7 Issue, but hoping someone can help.

Microsofts Event Viewer states:

"Warning -- The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ACPI\PNP0A0A\2&daba3ff&2"

Now it appears their may be two different issues associated with this error.

I'm interested in the second.

#1)

The first (which I resolved sometime ago) is that in "CP > Device Manager" you get a yellow warning for a missing driver.

If the "AMDA00 Interface" exists and "no" yellow warning and message stating: "driver is functioning", I'm assuming the driver is working.

#2)

The OS doesn't like something. My guess is it is looking for something and can't find it. What that something is ????

DH87RL Fan Control Issue

So I've got an Intel DH87RL motherboard with an i5-4570S CPU that's been working really well for.. well, it's been a while.  Anyway, I added a new GPU to it, and figured I should see what the temperatures are like on everything when it's under a full load.. and found that the CPU is hitting close to 80c without the fans ramping up AT ALL.

I tried playing around with the fan settings in the BIOS, and I found that if I switch it over to a manual fan control it does change the fan speed, so the fan control is definitely working.  If I adjust the minimum duty cycle it will also increase, however it will stay at that minimum speed.  The CPU fan is a 4pin, and the rear/front (both acting as intake) are both 3pin, though it seems like the fan control should still work in this case (I know the CPU requires a 4pin).

Is there something obvious that I'm missing with regard to a target temperature or something on the CPU?  I'd consider replacing the intake fans with 4pin units, but even the CPU fan isn't changing speed at all, so that doesn't seem to be the fix here.  I've got the minimum duty cranked up for now just to keep things reasonably cool, but I'd like to let the fan control do it's thing and ACTUALLY control the speed of the fans, based on temperature.

MRC Training for DDR4 on RVP8

Hello everyone,

I'm developing BIOS for Intel RVP8,. Currently, I'm stuck at MrcTraining for DDR4 because the SiliconPkg I had seems to be used for LPDDR3.

Could anyone please help me answering some questions:

1. What are differences between Mrc Training for LPDDR3 and one for DDR4?

2. Could you suggest which steps should be performed for DDR4 MRC training?

3. Is there any document which describes the MRC and MRC Training?

Thank you in advanced,

Intel Board DH67CF bricked -- flashing with SPI-programmer?

$

Hi.

I've bricked my DH67CF board (No.: BTCF1150008G AA G10216-203; Intel Core i5-2400S) by a firmware update via the F7 method. The updated seemed to progress correctly, but after the system automatically rebooted it kept dark. The system shows a continuous moderate FAN activity but no sign of booting or whatever. I guess I took a too new BIOS version or skipped to many versions inbetween. In any case, the rescue procedure does not progress (neither with USB nor CD-ROM approach; 30 minutes waiting does not help). Also disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes didn't help.

In my desperation (this is our family PC and my girls are really in a bad mood :-P) I am now considering to flash the BIOS chip using some external tools. The BIOS chip seems to be a Macronix MX25L3206EM2I-12G. As far as I can guess from my web recherche, flashing should be possible with an in-circuit clip and a USB SPI-programmer (CH341A-based). If haven't bought any of these tools yet -- so if you have any advise I would be grateful to hear it.

It would be great to hear whether somebody has ever flashed his BIOS manually with an external programmer and was successful. Furthermore, I am not 100% sure yet, whether those .bio files I downloaded from the Intel website are the actual files I should use. In terms of size they seem to fit as the the MX25L3206EM2I-12G apparently has 32 MB storage. If you have ideas of what else I can do to rescue the system, I'd also happy to hear them!

Thanks!
