Hi Guys
Sure some whizz here can help, have tried searching online but whatever I have tried does not seem to resolve my issue.
I am getting an old(er) computer up and running which has the following spec:
Intel i7 920 @ 2.67GHz CPU
Intel DX58SO Motherboard
Quality 700W PSU
8GB Ram (4 x 2GB)
24in G2400W BENQ Monitor
250GB SSD (Drive C, Boot device) - SATA slot 1
1.5TB SATA HDD (Drive D) - SATA slot 3
DVD/RW (Drive E) - SATA slot 5
Wireless Keyboard and Mouse
Winfast GTS 250 1024MB
Wireless Network Card
USB3.0 expansion card
Integrated audio and LAN
This PC always used to run fine but I am now noticing that the system boots twice before doing what I would call the "normal" start up. On the initial boot it will get as far as:
Marvell 88SE61xx Adapter - Bios Version 1.1.0.L70
Adaptor 1
Disks Information:
No hard disk is detected
It will then appear to do exactly the same all over again but at this stage (as shown above) the second time carry on through to the SSD boot and start the Windows 10 I have installed.
It's not a biggie as all appears to work ok, but it's irritating me as I know it never used to do this and I have no idea why it has started it!
NOTE: I added the SSD drive as part of the "restart", but if I recall it was there when I initially started the project before I fitted the SSD. I have also loaded the "optimal settings" in the BIOS
Any help to resolve this double boot much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Intel DP67DE- cant update newest BIOS.
Can't update it because Bios update everytime unsuccesful and seems that Im also vulnerable to Spectre. How to update BIOS. Please help.

Intel Desktop Board DX79SR LED "L"
Good morning -
I'm working on putting together a machine with a DX79SR board and I'm getting a red LED on what appears to be LED "L" "+5 V Standby power indicator" and a error code E6 on the motherboard. I don't see an E6 in the documentation and I'm not sure how to fix the red LED on "L". Can someone help clear this up for me?

Help with too many enteries in the BCD
Somewhere along the way, I have inadvertently created too many boot entries in the BCD section labeled "Firmware Application (101fffff)", and my system is booting very slowly, but eventually boots normally.
I have 365 items listed when there should normally be maybe 4-6 entries. How do I go about getting rid of the duplicates listed after the section labeled "Firmware Application (101fffff)"?
(This is for a EFI boot.)
I know how to remove any duplicates in the Firmware Boot Manager listing section of the dump at the top of the file, but that only works for the duplicate display order items in the Firmware Boot Manager.
I have attached the dump using Bcdedit /enum firmware > enumfw.txt.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Según las especificaciones de esta placa, el tamaño maximo de memoria es de 8 Gb. Necesito ampliar la memoria todo lo posible para poder continuar
trabajando, y la duda que tengo es, si 8 Gb, es en total de las 4 ranuras, u, 8 Gb por cada ranura?
Actualmente tengo 4 Gb, 2Gb x2,en las ranuras azules.

End Of Life Dates
Hello, I was wondering when was the end of life of the Intel DH55HC, DP55WB, and DH67BL, and I cannot seem to find the answer anywhere.
I'd be very grateful for an answer.
Other than that, I see that the DH67BL recieved a firmware update (version 0162) which (apparently) brings mitigations against the original Spectre and Meltdown security issues (I had just flashed it on my sisters' PC), after it was phased out.
Could not a firmware upgrade with those mitigations be released for the DH55HC (my PC) and the DP55WB (my father's PC)?
And lastly, the 82578DC Ethernet controller is listed in the driver changelog as compatible with the latest drivers (as of now, 23.2), however the drivers for the 82578DC are not included even as back as version 22.3.
Can at least version 22.3 be rereleased with support (even minimal, "as is" support) for the 82578DC, to allow it to be used on the current version of Windows 10?

no display after bios update

questions on memory for DH67BL
1) Intel documents state that blue memory slots should be used first. Is it just more efficient or will using only black slots not work?
2) Older equipment is getting hard to find. So what happens if I have a board which accepts DDR3-1333 / DDR3-1066 and I use DDR3-1600? Does it not work at all? What appears in BIOS when I look at potential memory profiles?
3) I found a post by N.Scott.Pearson (Memory Types ) stating that faster memory actually overclocks the processor's memory controller. So would a 2nd generation processor accept DDR3-1600 instead of the stated DDR3-1333 / DDR3-1066?
4) Boards for 2nd and 3rd generation processors seem to use 1.5 V memory, but DDR3-1600 sticks are rated for 1.5 V, 1.35 / 1.5 V, 1.5 / 1.65 V, or 1.65 V. Will DDR3-1600 sticks adjust to the board's different voltage or must I match voltage exactly?
The above is on DH67BL, i5-2405S, and no-name memory that now causes memtest errors.

Added by me: #2 appears to be answered by Intel pages on tested memory. The one for DH67BL does not list any DDR3-1600 sticks, but the one for DH67CL lists two of them, so slightly faster memory appears to be acceptable, as long as I buy quality stuff. Corsair makes some Vengeance with a 1.5 V rating.

Old BOXDX79SR went bunkers ... (beep code help)
I have an old BOX DX79SR that unfortunately is listed as "legacy" by Intel at this point. Long story short, woke up to total SSD disk crash and after replacing that, I get constant beeping from a WORKING system - it's driving me nuts
I get 4 beeps in groups of 4 and a little pause, then it repeats. I have not been able to find these beeps in the official manual (3 beeps is tops) - I found another list of "legacy beep codes" that says 4 beeps means "timer not operational" which led me to replace the CMOS battery even though the bios was just fine etc. - anyway, I did that and RIGHT AWAY it went away. I then reinstalled the graphics card and more, added new replacement drives, closed the case and - well, the beeps are back.
I'm hoping someone knows what they indicate. I have a new battery in the case, I'm not getting battery errors and "timer not operational" while it may be the RTC, it could mean a ton of things. The system IS operational - I reinstalled on a new HDD successfully while the beeps are driving me nuts.
Hopefully someone knows what the 4x4 beeps mean.

Intel DZ87KLT-75K No Display
Good day
I have a problem with a pc that I received.
When you switch PC on it starts then for a second it switches off and then it starts up.
No display is shows on screen you connect via HDMI port or Graphics Card
Board also displays error code EB
Post lights all shows green up and till OS boot. Standby Light is Solid green.
Memory, PSU, Graphics Card, DVD and Harddrive all tested on another computer and working 100%
PC Specs are as follows:
Motherboard: Intel DZ87KLT-75K
CPU: Intel i7-4770K
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB DDR3 1600MHz x2
Graphics Card: Asus Nvidia GTX560 TI 1GB
Have already tried removing the CMOS Battery and also moved BIOS jumper cable.
Sometimes if Graphics Card is removed the BIOS Post will show code 00 but still no display.
PC does not make any beeps and also does not switch off. Will stay on until you switch it off.

DH67GD Dual boot issues
I have a DH67GD motherboard that I am using to boot multiple operating systems from a single 500GB SATA hard disk. The hard disk is partitioned using the GPT partitioning scheme to support booting Mac OS X but, also has a hybrid MBR partition table to support booting Windows 7 in legacy mode as well as an alternative OS called Haiku that is an ofshoot of the BeOS( https://www.haiku-os.org/ ). I want to use the Chameleon boot loader to boot Mac OS since it boots all the installed operating systems without issues. The first four partitions on the disk are a 200 MB EFI system partition (required by Mac OS X), a 100 GB NTFS partition for Windows, a 20 GB partition formatted with the ext3 filesystem for a Linux root partition, and a 20 GB partition formatted with the Be filesystem. If I remember correctly this arrangement used to work fine but, over the years in my efforts to update my Mac OS installation, I updated the BIOS following instructions on a site detailing how to install Mac OS on this particular motherboard. At some point I started getting a message when I attempt to boot that states "A bootable device has not been detected. Please refer to the Product Guide at http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/ ".
The curious thing is that during the installation of Windows 7, when the system reboots with the install disk in the optical drive and displays the message "Press any key to boot from CD/DVD", if no key is pressed the computer proceeds to boot from the hard disk without any issues, Also if I press F10 at the splas screen to get the boot menu and select the hard disk, the boot process continues without any further issues, whether the bootloader is the Windows bootloader or Chameleon. It is quite frustrating, having to press F10 everytime the comptuer is started/restarted. Is there a workaround that doesn't require installing a MBR partitioned disk or inserting a USB flash drive with a bootloader. I use the USB stick set up to install Mac OS to boot into Mac OS and reinstall the Chameleon bootloader, but then I have tio leave the USB flash drive plugged in if OI don't want to have to use the BIOS boot menu (F10).

How to activate S/PDIF Out port on MB?
I am trying to install an Audio Alchemy DDP 1 to Windows 7 64 Pro.
It is a USB DAC aka an external sound card (and more)
i tried and failed to get the USB driver installed to Windows 7
Now I've been advised to connect via the S/PDIF port on my Intel Motherboard DZ87KLT-75K
So i connected the two via an appropriate optical cable.
Now what?
In doing some reading it appears i might have to connect it to my graphics card. Really?

Motherboard PRIME B360-PLUS;ASUS PCI device and SM bus controller

I have the problem that my PCI device and SM bus controller are not recognized under device management. I have had contact with ASUS but these refer to Intel. This is because they are the drivers of Intel. I have already installed all newest drivers several times. I also reinstalled windows.

My System is showing a very high temperature, what should I do?
I have Intel DH55TC with Intel Core i3 530 (1st Gen) processor.
Recently (after almost 8+ years) I'm facing an issue of abrupt restart of the system.
I suspected overheating as it is a very old system, and I used both IDU and a 3rd party tool.

What I'm worried about is what is the 105 degree Celsius temperature for 'System'?
looking at the IDU it seems all is fine, but in my BIOS I see that 'CPU Core Temperature', and it shows 42-43 degree Celsius after startup and increases at a very high rate, like probably 1 degree jump at every 15-20 seconds, and finally when I log in and checks the 'Hardware Monitor' app, the 'System' temperature shows that high (105 Degree Celsius)
Do I need to apply thermal paste at my CPU? is that what 'System' means?
Please help.
