I 'am trying to build a config based on:

Intel DH87RL

Intel Core i7-4770

4 x Kingston KVR1333D3N9/4G

+ connected : 1 Intel Pro NIC + 2 x Samsung 750 GB HDD + 1 x Samsung 256 GB SSD PM800

Memory is on the tested list : http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/db-dh87rl/sb/CS-034215.htm

When I only place 1 stick = ok

When I place 2 sticks = ok

with 3 of 4 continue reboot -> no output on screen, I do use the integrated graphics via hdmi.

Memory is working any combination of slots is the same max 2 sticks.

System was working before DH77EB with Core i7-3xxx and 4 x KVR1333D3N9

I did upgrade the bios to RLH8710H.86A.0320.2013.0606.1802

Any idea ?1333

DH87MC two beeps

Hi anyone,

Having following trouble:

After some bios changes (uefi x legacy booting) I'm getting two beeps twice, which should be video problem according to documentation and monitor is blank.

I tried to clear cmos (no power and battery for many hours), but still the same.

When the bios jumper is removed, I'm getting short list of 1. suppress, 2. clear bios pass, 3. clear TPM (you see - I have a picture)

With .bio file on flash disc I'm able to recover bios. Made twice without any problem, previous and new bios still 0047.

After returning the bios jumper I get two beeps and no picture. Same behaviour on iGPU and dGPU.

Anyone know why this board has been discontinued?

It's only been on the market a few months so I'm curious as to why it is already discontinued.   I installed this board in a production facility & I'm worried this may come back to bite me.

Thanks,

dq67ep strange bios update behavior

Hallo Team,

only for notice:

after some problem with Version 0064 Bios (restarts during installation attempt), i decided to upgrade the board to Version 0066 Bios.

It was not possible to install the bios neither with the F7 Method, neither the iFlash method, nor in the classical recovery way. Everything done like in the nice youtube vids, but no success.

After a few attempts I hit the F7 key short after booting without the jumper in recovery mode. That was the trick.

Ok, its an old board, but maybe someone will be facing in the future the same problems. On my other DH61DL I didnt faced any kind of strange behavior.

Greatings to all

PS: it was very hard to fund some oldie but goldie itx board with 6 sata ports (dq67dl has 2esata +4sata = bargin) and vpro capability.

D2700MUD Graphics problem

Hello,

In our company we are using d2700mud atom boards with windows xp 32 bit operating systems. They working Ok, excluding one thing. You cannot unplug the monitor. If you do that, the pc will start without it, but the next time you turn it on with monitor it wont work. We have to power it up in rescue mode then and reinstal graphic drivers. Sometimes the pc crashes without monitor too.

Longstory short, if you unplug the monitor you will have to reinstall the drivers. Same thing every time.

I would really aprichiate a solution to this flustrating situation. Our pcs cant run headless.

Issues with adding memory to Intel DP55WB

So i'm trying to get some life out of this motherboard, originally purchased in 2010. It currently has 2 x 2G Kingston sticks in it and was planning on replacing these with 2 x 4G sticks in the same slots. I purchased a pair of PNY MDK8192KD3-1333 which matched up to the specs of the motherboard exactly. I also updated the bios to the most current version, verified voltage and all I get out of the computer when I boot with the new memory is 3 long beeps. I'm not sure what direction to go at this point since I don't want to just keep buying different RAM sticks and guess as to whether they will work or not. I've emailed PNY to see if there is a compatability issue on that they know of, just looking for any possible suggestions at this point.

Thanks in advance.

Grazie

Intel DH87RLwith 16 GB Kingston Memory KHX1600C10D3B1

Hi,

I have an Intel DH87RL Desktop Board with a 16 GB Kingston Memory Kit KHX1600C10D3B1K2/16G. This is a kit of two KHX1600C10D3B1/8G modules. The KHX1600C10D3B1/8G module is listed on the tested memory list from Intel for the DH87RL with module speed 1600 MHz(see http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/db-dh87rl/sb/CS-034215.htm). The full specification for the kit is: Kingston HyperX Blu DDR3 16GB Kit 1600MHz , 2x 8GB, CL10 (10-10-10), 1.5V, 240Pin. The board is updated to the latest BIOS Revision 323 (RLH8710H.86A.0323.2013.1204.1726).

How do I properly set the BIOS so that the memory runs at 1600 MHz (2*800) DRAM Frequency?

BIOS memory settingMHz in BIOSMHz in CPU-Z
Automatic1.33*10 = 1333661.1
XMP-1600 Profile1.33*12 = 1600661.1
Manual (increase 10 to 12)1.33*12 = 1600799

Using "XMP-1600 Profile" does not work. (Is this a bug in the BIOS?)

Using "Manual" works, but which values do I set for all the many other settings? In CPU-Z it is shown as 9-9-9 which is above the specified 10-10-10.

The SPD has the following timing tables:

JEDEC#4XMP-1600
Frequency685 MHZ800 MHZ
CAS# Latency9.010.0
RAS# to CAS#910
RAS# Precharge910
tRAS2527

Thank you for your help.

DH61CR, after bios update, fails to boot

Hi everyone,

I have a pc with DH61CR motherboard, i5-2400, 4GB of RAM. Decided to update bios. Working bios was form year 2010. Express bios flash failed few times, with newest, and few earlier vesions. Decided to flash to next version after curent, working one. Success. Then I flashed one, from Dec 2012. Success. Bios looks different, mouse cursor, etc. Nice... The problem is, that it freezes in first BIOS window, showing Intel logo. If i press F10, i get boot devices list, but after selecting anything, it freezes, only reset helps. Bios update with F7 does not do nothing. Tried resetting BIOS, changing RAM, even CPU, without graphics card - the same. Tried BIOS recovery mode by removing jumper - no image, just cycling between on and off. Is there a way to revive motherboard? I have experience of 10 years of fixing similar issues, but I think only way now is RMA it. Any advice is very welcomed, thanks.

Graphics Driver for DQ77KB and Xeon E3-1265L v2

Hi, I've recently built a new system using a DQ77KB desktop board, and a Xeon E3-1265L v2 CPU. The CPU is listed as compatible with the board, and it works perfectly fine. I have installed Windows 7 64-bit on the system, and that works fine too.

The only problem I have is that the graphics driver for the board (HD Graphics Driver for Windows 7), that is available from the download center, says: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software" during installation. I would assume that it is not compatible with the CPU, as in the "Read Me" file, Xeon is not listed. This means that I have to work with default in-box drivers from the Windows 7 Installation.

What I find odd, is that it has exactly the same graphics (HD Graphics 2500) as the i3-3220 (which I am using with another DQ77KB board).

Is there any way to get WDDM graphics drivers to install for this setup?

I appreciate all help.

DH61AG BIOS update disaster.

Folks,

I am...well, was, a very happy DH61AG user.  I've got three of them here, and had no problems at all.  Until this evening.

Decided I was going to upgrade one of the machines to Windows 8, so checked out the BIOS versions.  My board was running 0023.  I wanted to be running 104.

Things went as follows:

  • Tried to update to 0039.  I couldn't, I was told by the F7 BIOS flash that my existing BIOS was too old.
  • F7 upgrade to 0031, worked OK
  • F7 upgrade to 0039 failed
  • Booted in to Windows 7 (existing install of Pro x32 off mSATA SSD) and ran the Express Update within Windows to 0039
  • Rebooted OK, all OK so far
  • Express Update to 0099 - failed in Windows
  • F7 upgrade to 0099 - seemed successful
  • Rebooted, now machine won't boot off mSATA drive, reboots constantly at BIOS screen
  • Tried booting off USB stick, BIOS locks up solid
  • Trying to flash 0104 I get flash failure with "FwUpdateBufferFull" followed by 0x80000....00015 (I think, it doesn't stay on screen long)

So, now my machine won't boot, is stuck on a broken 0099, I obviously can't flash up to 0104, or flash down to something less broken.

Specs:

DH61AG

2x2GB Micron PC3-10600S-9-11-B1 DIMMs

Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030 wifi card (tried removing this, no change)

Crucial M4 64GB mSATA SSD

Celeron G530

DVI monitor

Dell 90W PSU

Any suggestions?

Boot postcode D9

Hello,

On an old D865PERLL motherboard, nearly each time I make a cold start the boot stops with postcode D9 "D9 Copy main BIOS image to F000 shadow RAM and give control to main BIOS in F000 shadow RAM".

At the second cold start, usually the boot ends normally and PC works well.

I understand what D9 means but don't know what to do that the PC starts normally always at the first cold start.

I have still to keep this PC for about 6 months before I change it.

Any idea?

Many thanks for each input.

DZ77RE-75K: BIOS has detect unsussful POST attempt(s)

$

The Board has the newest BIOS version (0053).

I have changed an external drive. The system was working fine with a WD "My Book" on Firewire. Now I have changed to a new WD "My Book" connected via USB3.0. The system start fails with the message:

The system BIOS has detected unsuccessful POST attempt(s). Possible causes included recent changes to BIOS Performance options or

recent hardware changes. Press 'Y' to enter BIOS Setup or press 'N' to cancel and attempt to boot with previous settings.

I have to disconnected the drive to boot the system. What I have to do for booting with connected drive?

DQ77MK - BIOS has detected unsuccessful POST attempt(s)

Hi,

We are experiencing some problems with the DQ77MK motherboard. Randomly, on boot we get this message :

BIOS has detected unsuccessful post attempt(s).

Possible causes include recent changes to BIOS

Performance Options or recent hardware change.

Press 'Y' to enter Setup or 'N' to cancel and attempt to boot with the previous settings.

After searching many hours on this forum and others, I find nothing to fix this problem.

When I press on 'N', the system boots with no problems.

So my question is: Is there any options to disable this message (or to bypass it after some time).

This message is really annoying because the systems we use in our company have no keyboard connected, they just got a touchscreen.

This message appear on many DQ77MK (at least 5 of them) and we always shutdown the systems cleanly.

We use Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 2.6.32-37.

We tried to remove all devices connected on USB3 ports, to change some BIOS options (like "unattended BIOS configuration") and to update the BIOS (we still have the problem with the latest version: 0062).

Stéphane

Cooling assistant, CPU fan issue

$
0
0

Running a i4770 on a DH87RL board, with latest bios (320)

Using an PWM cooler from Noctua NH-12S (which received positive reviews from a number of magazines).

My problem: the mainboard doesn't seem to control the fan(s) properly.

When I use factory settings (setting "Quite(0) in cooling assistant) the CPU fan starts with about 300rpm and stays there. Case fase are running with 600-700 rpm.

When I put the CPU under stress, its temperature goes up to 80 C without the fans ever speeding up. Then the thermal throttle sets in.

With any different setting in cooling assistant (e.g. "Cooling Assistant(1)"), the fans start with full speed (1500rpm for CPU, >1000rpm for front and rear), even when the machine is idle (or is in the BIOS screen).

Now the CPU stays below 60C even under full load, but it's somewhat loud and I really would like to have proper thermal management.

RPM and temperature sensors seem to work correctly.

I noticed that the BIOS cooling assistant graphics seems inconsistent at times. If you adjust the temperature curves and switch to another tab and then back, the curves are not remembered correctly.

Is this a known BIOS issue?
