DB85FL - No video card error when installing video card

$
0
0

After installing win 8.1 pro on my board and have it working, I then install a video card and made some tweaks in bios and now it boots with error beeps (two beeps - pause - two beeps)

I remove bios jumper and it still beeps

I pull video card and it boots fine.

I reinstall card and it boots fine.  Win 8.1 pro says secure boot misconfigured and I go back into bios and enable secureboot only and now it is giving me no video error beeps again.  but this time it continues to boot and I get the desktop just fine.

Now I can get into bios as there is no video.  I try pulling power cord and wait for the motherboard led to go out, then I replug in power and hold the power switch for a second or two until it beeps, which is suppose to clear bios, but I still get the video error and I still can get into the bios.

I even tried switching monitor to integrated video and still get no video beeps.

I installed the latest bios (19) first thing when I got the board.

My video card is an evga gtx 650 superclocked (01G-P4-2652-KR) if this matters any.

DQ35JO BIOS Upgrade

I will be getting a DQ35JO that I am going to reuse. I know that board is going to have BIOS 0925 on it and it was running Window Server for Telecommunications in its prior use. I will be running Windows 7 - 32bit. The current BIOS is 1143 and 0925 is a raft of upgrades back.

My questions are:

Is there a certain BIOS revision required for WIN7 use?

Should I upgrade the BIOS in one step or multiple steps through the BIOS releases - and which ones, if multiple are required?

I saw in the BIOS notes that the ME has been upgraded as well. Therefore, should I do the BIOS upgrade using the recovery method, which also updates the ME, or is a standard BIOS update sufficient?

PSU won't turn on (D925XECV2)

Hi all,

I have an old PC with a D925XECV2 motherboard. But I have an issue regarding turning on the PSU.

When I press the "turn on" switch nothing happens. I have tried shorting the pins on the motherboard, but with no success, so I don't think the switch itself is defective. I have also tried to short the PSU_ON pin (Green wire, pin 14) on the PSU to ground and then it runs perfectly. If I keep PSU_ON shorted the PC is able to boot and run perfectly.

I suspect that the issue is related to the power on/off circuitry on the motherboard. But does anyone know what to look for and which component to change?

Thanks in advance,

Problem with HDMI audio using intel hd 4600 graphics

Hello,

I've got a huge problem regarding my hdmi audio in my intel dq87pg board. The setup is the following:

HTPC  -> Displayport to HDMI Adapter -> Onkyo AV Receiver -> TV

OS is Windows 8.1, Graphic drivers etc. are the latest.

if the TV and the AV Receiver is on when I start the HTPC, everything works fine. But if it is switched off while booting, the computer does not find any hdmi audio device when the receiver is turned on later. The same happens when av receiver is on during boot and the sound works and I restart the AV reveiver or replug the cable in between.

I've tried nearly everything, different drivers, reinstall windows etc, but nothing helps. Does anyone have a solution?

Many regards

Florian

DZ87KLT-75K restarting all the time with external USB hard disks attached

Hi everybody!

I have an extremely annoying booting issue:

Whenever I power on my new system with an attached external HD (any of two 1TB Buffalo drives or my external LG Blue-Ray writer)
to any USB port the mainboards only shows the Intel and resets.

This goes on and on - Intel logo, reboot, dark screen and starts again.

When I detach the drive everything works perfectly, Windows 7 64 boots and I cvan attach the drive without any issues.

  • Visual BIOS version is the current 447
  • Setting are default, no overclocking etc.
  • Windows has not been installed in UEFI mode
  • UEFI boot is disabled in the Setup
  • Boot from USB devices has been disabled
  • The latency for drive detection has been set to 5 and 10 seconds

Nothing solved this problem.

I am really shocked with an Intel board having such a stupid issue.

Anybody has got any idea how this could be solved?

Thanks and cheers,

Thomas

PCIe x16 not recognizing graphics cards on DH77EB M/B

I've just been going through a frustrating build using a DH77ED M/B with a G860 processor. This is a fresh Windows 7 64 bit installation using an older 32GB HDD and subsequently an Intel 530 180GB SSD.  I'm able to get a working system only by sticking to using the on-board video.

I've tried several different BIOS versions and every time I try installing a graphics card in  the PCIe slot I get no video output on the monitor. Coincidentally, none of the graphics cards seem to be detected in BIOS. I've tried every possible combination of UEFI/legacy BIOS enabling in the BOOT section of BIOS with the same results. I've tried disabling the on-board video and setting the PEG video as the primary display, to no avail.

The graphics cards all work in a much older HP Pavilion machine, so the cards are evidently not the issue. I'm fairly certain that I'll probably need to initiate a warranty return on the M/B but I thought I'd try to get some advice here on other possible options to pursue.

H/W Info:

Processor: Intel G860

Memory: 8GB total 1600MHz DDR3 in DIMM slots 1&2

M/B: DH77EB version AAG39073-304

SSD: Intel SSD 530 180 GB  (firmware updated to current)

HDD: WDC 320 GB

P/S: EVGA NEX750G

Unrecognized video cards:

EVGA GTX640 (1 GB DDR5)

HIS iSilent5 ( 2GB DDR3 )

Sapphire Radeon x1650 (512MB DDR3)

Any other suggestions or does this seem like an RMA issue?

Password forgotten for Windows , changed bios settings

Hi, I changed a bios setting...I added a bios password and can remember it. Thats ok, I can get into the bios. But I changed a bios security setting to View Only.

I also added a Windows 7 password and have forgotten it. I did not make a password floppy disk. How do I reset the computer to clear the Windows7 passsword? I tried clearing the CMOS but the passwords did not clear.

Now, written on the black screen is,

"Enter password to unlock the system"   ...3 lines are reading the same words...

Password check failed.

Please refer to the Product Guide at Http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/

Fatal Error...System halted.

I get passed this message into the bios using the password, it is only the Windows7 password I forgot and can not enter Windows operating system.

Graphics Driver for DQ77KB and Xeon E3-1265L v2

$

Hi, I've recently built a new system using a DQ77KB desktop board, and a Xeon E3-1265L v2 CPU. The CPU is listed as compatible with the board, and it works perfectly fine. I have installed Windows 7 64-bit on the system, and that works fine too.

The only problem I have is that the graphics driver for the board (HD Graphics Driver for Windows 7), that is available from the download center, says: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software" during installation. I would assume that it is not compatible with the CPU, as in the "Read Me" file, Xeon is not listed. This means that I have to work with default in-box drivers from the Windows 7 Installation.

What I find odd, is that it has exactly the same graphics (HD Graphics 2500) as the i3-3220 (which I am using with another DQ77KB board).

Is there any way to get WDDM graphics drivers to install for this setup?

I appreciate all help.

Latest RST for Mac Pro 2008 7x64?

Hi wondering if you can help.

I have a Mac Pro 3,1 2008 tower and wondered what the final RST driver which supports my model for Windows 7 x64.  It's based on the 5400 chipset with twin Harpertown Xeon CPU's, 800Mhz FB-DIMMs and has the ESB2 Sata controller, screenshots of devmgr attached. Got bitten by the 746Gb bug off the earlier RST driver (which marked nearly half a 4tb drive with bad clusters!) but managed to get the 10.1.0.1008 working but not as stable as the old buggy one.  Could anyone help with the final RST build number my model supports? I must have tried half a dozen of them already with 10.6.0.1022 the earliest which says it is not supported and after the corruption I've had I would rather know in advance before I attempt installing another one.

Intel DH87RL remote console/power

Hello,

I was wondering if there is a feature in this motherboard that provides IP based out-of-band management, similar to an HP iLO or IBM RSA card. Most importantly I'd like to be able to access the video console of the motherboard over IP (pre-boot) as well as send remote power on/off/reset commands.

Thanks

I have a home-built system running the DH77EB board, Ivy Bridge i7, 8GB RAM, WIndows 8 Release Preview, Radeon HD7870 and a Samsung 830SSD.

I saw that the most recent 11.6 version of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver now lists Windows 8 compatibility, the prior 11.4 version worked on Windows 8 but did not list Windows 8 compatibility.  I went ahead and installed 11.6, but it does not appear to start - the icon in the system tray says Intel RST service is not running, and when I click on it to launch the app, nothing happens.  I checked the error log and this is what I see:

DH87RL still NO XMP support after Bios 0323!!!

$

Hey Intel just to let you know you still not have fixed this issue with this board when setting the XMP 1600 option in the Bios.  Manual settings don't work either.

I have used your boards for 10 years.  Built over 1000 pc's for my customers using your MB products, and I wanted to test these boards

for my clients to see if they were worth buying 100 units for my customers this year.

Sadly although you say you have fixed the issue with bios 0323, it is not fixed. You have forced me to use a different manufacturer for my performance builds right now.  You have not resolved this XMP issue.  Verified this issue using two other motherboards from other manufactures and I even tested this memory in my Intel DP55KG board and XMP works with no issue.  But not in the DH87RL!!

Kingston Hyper X   KHX16C10B1RK2/16X  Does not work at XMP speed as selected in the bios.  XMP certified memory 1.3

Crucial Ballistix Black PC3-128000 8gb or 16gb kits also do not work at XMP speed as selected in the bios.  XMP certified memory 1.3

When can we expect a bios update that truly fixes this issue.  I have 5 of these boards that will need a bios update to resolve this issue now.

DQ87PG Bios Support broken?

I have a new DQ87PG-Mainboard and tried to make it fit for Windows 8.1. On the Intel-Support-Site I found 6 Bios - Version 30, 35, 36, 121, 139 and 141.

My mainboard came with v. 30. I installed Win 8 and upgraded dirct to Win 8.1 - the PC worked well. Then I found Bios 139 with 8.1 support. I tried to flash Version 139 with all three methods - without succes, each with the same "FWUpdateFullBuffer" - error message. So I started to flash each version step by step. My results:

V 35 flash without error

V 36 flash without error

V 121 error - Bios file is not for DQ87PG, but for DB85FL Board

V 139 error FwUpdateFullBuffer

V 141 error FwUpdateFullBuffer

I'ts not my first experience with flashing mainboard, but I never hat such a number of problems.

The V 121 is more the a month on the support site, I found in an other discussion here a hint about this, but nothing happens.

I'm sure to maked a mistake by flashing the board! My system is plain vanilla:

DQ87PG Mainboard

I5-4670 Cpu

2*8 GB Kingston Memory

1 Samsung 849 EVO SSD-Drive

1 Plextor DVD-Drive

and it is quite good, stable an powerful.

DH67CL Random reboot

I have a DH67CL that is still under warranty. Used this board for about a year on a WHS2011 build with about 6 2TB HDD without any hiccups.

Ditched the WHS2011 and am now using it in a desktop box.

I get random reboots sometimes every 2 minutes, sometimes it will go hours without doing it. I am at my wits end.

Things I have tried replacing

Intel SSD, thought maybe this could be the issue, cloned it to a new intel SSD and RMA'd the old one

Power switch? thought maybe it was a bad power switch.. but nope, still does it on a different switch wired via new header pins

PSU, replaced it with a known good one

CPU, this was replaced with a new one when I switched over to desktop duties

Things I have not replaced

RAM, I've ran it through at least 2 passes of Memtest+
