Hello,

I have a problem with the mobo DB85FL in many machines. With the bios 0126 and UEFI mode, when press F10, show the boot menu and the options well, CD,Uefi Boot disk, lan and usb if and usb pendrive is connected.Upgrade to Bios 0127, the latest, when press F10, only shows Uefi boot disk and lan, no shows cd and usb sticks....is this a Bios failure in 0127 version?

Attach two photos with the 2 bios options

Thanks

DH61AG does not see Intel 240 GB SSD

Recently upgraded several customer's Loop L5 AIO w/ DH61AG from an Intel 60GB SSD to a 240GB (SSDSC2BW240A401). Systems were running fine before the upgrade. After the upgrade the systems booted to the new drives fine (imaged from the 60GB SSD, Windows 7 x64). However; if the users shuts down the PC or the PC restarts (Windows Updates) the SSD is not recognized and they get the error message "No Bootable Device Found". If you unplug power from the MB, wait 10-15 seconds and reconnect power, it will boot fine. One of my co-workers also said if you bring up the Boot Menu, it will then see the SSD and allow you to choose it and boot up fine.

The DH61AG had BIOS version 40, I upgrade it to 99 then to 109, per instructions, but it did not help the problem.

I have seen several other post w/ similar issues, it is like there is a lag in the SSD "spinning up" if you will, that the PCs don't see them as an available boot device.

Can Back Panel Connectors be upgraded or replaced?

I have a custom built desktop computer with the DQ77MK motherboard. It was built in 2013 by a gentleman whom I'm not sure can help me with it anymore. If I had been building this and was given the information I gave him I'm sure I would not have selected this motherboard. We are professional photographers and the main areas I have to be concerned about are speed and storage. The speed and power are fine, the ability to add storage is not. There are only five SATA connectors on this motherboard, four are currently being used for the main SSD drive, a secondary 2TB storage drive, DVD payer and I'm not sure what the other is being use for. The fifth is under the massive graphics card installe. And I'm not sure this fifth SATA port actually works. I've tried to connect two different hard drives to this port and could not get either one to work. I currently have another healthy drive that I want to try but haven't had the time yet.  The graphics card is so close to the only open PCI connector that I can't get a card into it. There is a USB card in the PCI Express connector that I may be able to switch out but I would prefer not to lose these. There are only three, two if you don't count the port for the video card, expansion PCI ports on this motherboard. The guy who built this for me gave me a case with something like 8 extra bays and told me that adding extra storage would be an easy process. But he put in a motherboard with absolutely no expansion capabilities that I can tell and also has a 2TB limit on the drives.I can't even replace the currently installed extra drive with a larger one. I'm going crazy trying to figure out how to make this work the way I want it to.

Because of the lack of internal expansion options, what I want to do is connect a MediaSonic Probox and run my storage drives through it. It will run on USB or eSATA, preferable the SATA as USB speeds are way to slow, something like 25mps. This box, to run correctly needs to access an eSATA port with port multiplier capabilities. As far as I can tell none of the SATA ports have this Multiplier capability.

There are two components on the motherboard that is accessed through the back panel that I would like to upgrade. The top one has two high current USB ports (will never use), one IEEE port (will never use, either) and an eSATA port. The other component has two 2.0 USB ports and what looks like an empty access bay.Is there any way, at the very least, to upgrade that eSATA port to support Port Multiplier? Or at best, replace these two components with something I can put to better use. I would like to have at the very least two eSATA with Port Multiplier capabilities and some more high speed USB ports, 3.0.

Is it possible to upgrade or change out these back panel components?

Thank you,

DQ77KB no video no post no beeps

I bought a dq77kb mainboard and I cannot get to show information on a display.

Also the keyboard numlock led does not light up.

The processor is in the compatible procs list

its a i3-3220T processor. The cpu fan start to run. I have a headset plugged in and I do not hear any beeps

When I remove the memory I hear the 3 beeps.

I can't go to the bios as I can see anything. It appears the usb ports don't get power.

I would try a bios upgrade if I could, but it doesn't get to that stage. So no POST either. Tried clear CMOS with power cable dettached, doesn't help

All of this has also been performed out of the chassis with only one memory card in place, no connections but the power switch. It starts running it gives no unusual led activity and no beeps.

The processor is compatible and I don't have any other processors.

The power is connected externally and it has 90 Watts. It boots up an hp laptop nicely with no issues.

I followed all the troubleshooting steps but don't know what else there is I can do.

I have seen multiple posts regarding similar issues. They have not been answered by Intel here:

DN2800MT doesn't boot with TBS6981 PCI-E inserted

Hi all,

I've just bought a DN2800MT to use with my existing TBS6981 dual DVB-S2 card to record TV. Unfortunately the board doesn't boot (no vga output) with the sat card inserted, without it, it's fine. I thought it might be a power issue, as the sat card has additional power socket for use on some motherboards that have low power PCI-E slots, but using external power for the card doesn't help. I read on the TBS forum http://www.tbsdtv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=7823&p=27515&hilit=boot+problem#p27515 that other manufacturer's boards have had similar problems that can be fixed by a BIOS update. I tried updating the standard 0163 to 0165 and again to the just released 0166, but neither helped. The sat card works fine without external power in the older system I hope to replace, and I'm out of ideas, can anyone help?

Rebuilding Mirror Raid -- WHICH Drive is Being Rebuilt??

My RAID 1 mirror worked fine until a couple days ago, when it was triggered to start a rebuild. It seems to now be continuously rebuilding, in that I saw it go to 95% done, and when I looked a few hours later, it was back to 5% done. I assume one of the two underlying hard disks is flaky and should be replaced -- but which one?? The ROM BIOS control-I merely says the volume is rebuilding, and Intel Rapid Storage Technology likewise says the volume is rebuilding, and the detailed report of the two underlying drives is "normal". In sum, I see no clue from either ROM BIOS or IRST which hard drive to replace.

This is slightly dated equipment and software. The mobo is DX58SO, and the BIOS isn't the latest -- I had to stop updating because Intel's updates were breaking more things than they fixed! IRST is also not the latest: 9.6.0.1014. I figure it's risky to try to update it at this point.

What's my simplest pathway? I could disconnect one of the two drives and boot it and see if the system functions properly; if it does, then I can assume I've found the bad drive and replace it and let it rebuild again. Or if the system doesn't function with the one drive disconnected, I can disconnect the other drive instead, and see if that works any better. But is there something I can do that doesn't involve guesswork? Something that will report, for example, which underlying disk is being written? I don't want to make a mess here; I just want to make a surgical change.

DX58SO System Build - No Beep Codes, No Video

$

I’m building a PC based around the DX58SO motherboard.  The problem that I’m having is that there is no video (including the BIOS screens) nor are there any beep codes.

For diagnostic purposes, the PC was built outside of the case.   I’m also building two of these PCs so I have two of everything.

The configuration I’m trying to get to is:

  • Intel DX58SO motherboard
  • Intel i7-965 Extreme CPU
  • Titan TTC-NK35TZ (140 Watt) heatpipe CPU cooler
  • Generic  4 x 4GB DDR3-1600 memory (non-ECC)
  • EVGA GeForce GTX 750  Ti FTW 2GB graphics card
  • Toshiba 1 TB DT01ACA100 hard drive
  • H-L Blu-Ray reader,  DVD+/-RW,  CD-RW optical drive
  • ThermalTake TR2 700W  TR700 power supply

When I power up the system up, the fan whir and spin, but I never get to the point where I can see anything on the screen.

The two motherboards are slightly different.  One is rev 501 which has a default BIOS of 2127.  The other is rev 703 which has a default BIOS of 5200.  The latest BIOS is 5600.  The i7-965 requires a minimum BIOS of 2388 so I know I have a problem with the older of the boards.

The latest BIOS was downloaded (SO5600P.bio) and burnt to a CD.   I remove the BIOS jumper, put the CD into the optical drive, boot the system, but the system never seems to boot from the CD.  The light flashes on the optical drive for several seconds and then goes dark.  Burnt another CD – same result.  Swapped the drive for a DVD drive – same result.  Try it on the other system – same result.

So on the rev 703 system

Swapped the memory for others - including DDR3-1333, other sizes and different slots - and the fan whir and spin, but I never get to the point where I can see anything on the screen. Remove memory and there are no beep codes.

Removed the battery for an hour to reset the BIOS – same result

Swapped power supplies for two others – same result.

Swapped the CPUs – same result.

Swapped the video card for four others (three PCIe-x16 and one PCI) – same result.

Search the web.  It seems a number of people have this problem but there is little consensus on how to fix it.

Tried this multiple times with the same result

  • Step 1 - Cut it off and either unplug it or use the hard switch next to the  plug on your power supply if available.  Wait at least 30 seconds.
  • Step 2 - Press and Hold  the 'power on ' button on the front of your machine  (e.g. press it in and don't release)
  • Step 3 - Use your 3rd hand to now switch on the power supply or plug in the cable (while you’re holding the power button in).
  • Step 4 - (and this takes careful listening to the machine) keep holding the button for about 2-3 sec.   Listen for a mechanical sound as it powers up b/cuz once it passes, you need to let go of the button.
  • Step 5 - BINGO - my 10 boot.

So any suggestions ?

DB85FL - No video card error when installing video card

$

After installing win 8.1 pro on my board and have it working, I then install a video card and made some tweaks in bios and now it boots with error beeps (two beeps - pause - two beeps)

I remove bios jumper and it still beeps

I pull video card and it boots fine.

I reinstall card and it boots fine.  Win 8.1 pro says secure boot misconfigured and I go back into bios and enable secureboot only and now it is giving me no video error beeps again.  but this time it continues to boot and I get the desktop just fine.

Now I can get into bios as there is no video.  I try pulling power cord and wait for the motherboard led to go out, then I replug in power and hold the power switch for a second or two until it beeps, which is suppose to clear bios, but I still get the video error and I still can get into the bios.

I even tried switching monitor to integrated video and still get no video beeps.

I installed the latest bios (19) first thing when I got the board.

My video card is an evga gtx 650 superclocked (01G-P4-2652-KR) if this matters any.

Intel HD graphics causing high CPU utilization

$

Using the DH61AG motherboard onboard graphics with the latest Intel drivers, Task Manager showed unusually high CPU usage (up to 30%) by System (NT Kernel & System) when watching movies.  I tried this without the onboard graphics and CPU utilization went down to roughly 0 for System.  Using Process Explorer, I've tracked it down to ntoskml.exe!WheaAttemptPhysicalPageOffline+0x350 and dxgmms1.sys.  I believe this is the Intel graphics driver making a DirectX call to page system memory.  If there is a way to fix this or if I have to wait for a driver release please let me know.

DX79SR and USB 3.0 Firmware Updates

I'm sure like most of you, your USB 3.0 ports are not working under Windows 8.  When I saw the firmware updates dated 5/9/2013, I thought finally.  Well after installing the update I can say they still don't work.  I install both updates, front and rear.  The front update processes fine...and those ports may work, but I don't have them hooked up.  The rear update throws the message Device not found!USB.PNG

Any help to get this working under Windows 8, would be much appreciated.

Hi guys,

I've never really used the Grey Marvell SATA ports, but now I wanted to add another HDD and decided to and cannot for the life of me get them to work. Is there anything I need to do?

I have secondary SATA enabled in BIOS. And when I go to BIOS to see my sata ports, it only shows my Intel SSD connected to SATA 0 and doesn't show any of my connected drives.  It also does not show my grey SATA ports in BIOS?  Only shows SATA 0-5

Blue SATA 0: Intel 520 240gb SSD

Blue SATA 1: Seagate 1.5tb Barracuda HDD

Black SATA 2: 500gb Seagate Barracuda HDD

Black SATA 3: 1.5TB Seagate Barracuda HDD

Black SATA 4: DVD Burner

Black SATA 5: Bluray Drive

Grey SATA 6: 3TB Seagate Barracuda HDD

Grey SATA 7: Empty

I'm using:

OS: Windows 8.1  Pro 64bit

Motherboard: Intel DZ77GA-70K

BIOS Version: 0066

BIOS Mode: UEFI

Any help would be much appreciated as I want to get my new 3TB HDD working. Thanks

I found a document titled Thermal Mechanical Specifications and Design Guidelines for 3rd generation CPUs. The document is located at http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/design-guides/3rd-gen-core-lga1155-socket-guide.pdf.

However, I'd like to find the same document for 2nd generation CPUs. I realize that the socket data and much of the content will be shared between the two, but not with respect to turbo, thermal, and power data. I'm drawing a blank. Any suggestions?

Boot screen in a loop?

Hello all!, early i decided to update my BIOs (DH61WW) because some LAN issues, i have 099 ver. and tried 0120 express method, in first the process fail, and later dont let me start Windows 7 (64 bit), because it is in a loop the boot screen (i can acces  f2, f7, f10).

So i decided to do http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-023360.htm a Recovery Bios Update, and it works! but the problem still continue, even i tried other version, and the update is done, but the problem still persist, so i decided go back to 0099, but just this version dont work.

Any thoughts about that?

I tried everything on this posts: https://communities.intel.com/message/265863#265863

                              http://https://communities.intel.com/message/192280#192280

     with no luck.

Thanks!
