Can't rebuild RAID with Intel Rapid Storage

Hello!

I have had to remove one of my RAID 1 drives because it was starting to fail. I've received the replacement and connected it to the same SATA port. It was suposed to start to rebuild automatically, or at least show a button, but no option is given. What should I do?

I attach a screenshot of the status screen (I'm sorry, it is in Spanish)

Thank you very much!

I am installing my DB75EN motherboard and have an issue with the powersupply hookup and could use some guidance.

This is my first build and I bought my power Supply as it was said to match up with the DB75EN.  I obtained a Thermaltake TR2 600 and it does not have the 4 pin 12 volt Power Connector. (ATX-CPU).  I got a little confused with the Thermaltake hook up instructions as it references the 20 and 24 pin Main Power Connector.  The TR2 has a 24 pin power connector.  Is the power to the Motherboard supplied through the 24 pin connector or does it still require the 4 pin ATX-CPU pin also?  I am starting with this forum as it seems the most logical place to begin.  Thermaltake instructions makes it confusing so that is also why am I starting here.  Thermaltake says "if the board requires the 4 pin ATX-CPU connector that you are to "detach a 4 pin connector from the 4+4pin ATX 12V connector and connect it to the Motherboard." It further says "either one of the 4+4 pin form the 4+4pin ATX 12V connector will work."

Does this mean to dismantle a connector and plug the pins only into the ATX-CPU plug?  If so not Problem I can handle that.  I actually have a 4 pin connector plug handy from an old Power Supply that I was able to scavenger.  I just don't want to mess this up.

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

I have 3 problems with my Motherboard DZ77RE-75K.

1) the PCH Temperature sensor works sometimes and then stops working and reports a temp of 0 degrees as reported by the Intel Desktop Utilities

2) I installed 2x8 Gigs RAM modules by Corsair (Vengeance Pro 1866MHz) and the Motherboard  will only run them at 1333MHz. At 1866MHz and using the default Bios settings, the PC will not boot

3) the Motherboard doesnt seem to control the speed of the PWM Rear Exhaust fan.  The Fan's speed stays constant no matter how hot the case gets.  The Fan is connected to the Rear Fan Header on the Motherboard

Pls help and thanks.

BSOD installing Intel USB 3.0 drivers

I recently purchased a 250Gb Samsung 840 Evo for my desktop, for use as a system drive. I successfully installed Windows 7 x64, configured SATA mode and windows settings for the SSD, and went to install drivers (all current versions). After installing the Intel chipset driver, I attempted to install the USB 3.0 driver (included in the installation was the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host driver and a few others). I immediately got a BSOD before the installation finished. It took a few tries to boot back up again, as I kept getting more BSODs on startup. Upon starting back up, my monitor resolution had jumped down a bit (but I could change it back), and the whole taskbar had disappeared. My desktop icons were present and working, and explorer.exe was running, but I could not get the taskbar to reappear, and the start menu and taskbar configuration settings would not open. At that point I just reinstalled windows, since I had no data on the drive yet.

After cloning the new installation, I attempted to install the drivers directly from the motherboard's installation disk, in case there were some issues with the new drivers, and the same BSOD issue continued to happen. So until I can figure this out, my USB 3.0 ports are running at USB 2.0 speeds. I never had this issue on my WD Caviar Black, though I haven't reinstalled Windows on it recently. Any help would be appreciated.

VMware ESXi 5.5 hangs on ACPI initialization on DQ67OW

Hi,

I'm using a DQ670W motherboard as a VMWare ESXi whitebox for my personal use. It works great with ESXi up to 5.1U1.

ESXi 5.5 has been released but it hangs on ACPI initialization on startup or install. Searching on google, other brands of motherboards are facing the same problem, they released a new BIOS update to make ESXi 5.5 work even if their motherboard are not officially supported by VMware.
Is Intel aware of this problem ? Will a BIOS update be released ?

I can provide technical information for investigation.

is it safe to overclock the max dynamic frequency? and is it as effective as overclocking the integrated graphics core clock?

I will be overclocking the graphics of one of the new Pentium processors. I have two questions.

First question: Is it safe to overclock the max dynamic frequency?

Second question: Is Intel's software for deciding when the integrated graphics card can go faster reliable, or would I be better off overclocking the core clock?

The reason I'm asking this is because I don't feel comfortable adjusting the core clock. I would rather adjust the max dynamic frequency. And for anyone who doesn't know what max dynamic frequency is, it is explained in this forum post: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1905048/graphics-max-dynamic-frequency-intel-graphics-feature.html

Any advantages to inserting PCIe x2.0 x1 card in PCIe x2.0 x16 slot?

$

I know PCIe x2.0 x1 cards can be used in PCIe x2.0 x16 slots with no problems. But are there any advantages?

I ask this because a comment on Newegg suggested that there is a performance boost to doing the above in certain cases. He was using a SATA II card in an old ASUS motherboard with PCEe x 1.0 slots with a maximum rate of 250 MB/s, with this card using a Silicon Image chip which simply split the bandwidth between two ports, 125 MB/s each. He claimed that when this same card was inserted into a x16 slot, the bandwidth jumped to 165MB/s, suggesting that not only did the Silicon Image chip have some headroom, the slot bandwidth was significantly larger.

Does anyone believe there would be a performance increase for any of the following cards in a x16 slot:
- sound card
- USB 3.0 card
- wireless networking
- wired (Ethernet) networking

I would guess that there is no advantage for a sound card (Creative customer support verified that opinion) and networking would depend on the exact parameters, but there might be one for a USB 3.0 card in a PCIe x 2.0 slot because the bandwidth of an x1 slot is 500 MB/s, but the bandwidth of USB 3.0 is 625 MB/s, if I'm converting units correctly.

Of course, if Intel motherboards implemented hard limits on PCIe slots, strictly limiting them to the specification, then there could be no possibility of better performance. Anyone know?

Intel HD graphics causing high CPU utilization

Using the DH61AG motherboard onboard graphics with the latest Intel drivers, Task Manager showed unusually high CPU usage (up to 30%) by System (NT Kernel & System) when watching movies.  I tried this without the onboard graphics and CPU utilization went down to roughly 0 for System.  Using Process Explorer, I've tracked it down to ntoskml.exe!WheaAttemptPhysicalPageOffline+0x350 and dxgmms1.sys.  I believe this is the Intel graphics driver making a DirectX call to page system memory.  If there is a way to fix this or if I have to wait for a driver release please let me know.

DG43GT startup problem

I have a new dg43gt with an e7500 processor installed. I am using 2 x 2gb an 2 x 1gb ddr2-800. The power pilot shows on the motherboard, but when I power it on the cpu fan spins for a few seconds and then shuts down. It appears that the 12 v portion of the power supply turns off since the motherboard pilot remains lit, but the power supply pilot light turns off. This happens with 2 different power supplies. Intel claims the e7500 is supported on the website, but the manual does not mention the 7000 series.  Everything appears to be connected correctly and all of the components ran on my slowly failing  dell motherboard. The cpu is new, but I know it runs on the dell.

What is wrong Why are my power supplies shutting down?

Desktop board DZ77GA-70K - BIOS ???

I bought in October 2012th Intel Desktop Board DZ77GA - 70K , Intel i5 - 3570K and the Intel SSD 520 180GB .

On the PC, the system is Windows7 - 64bit .

Intel Desktop Bord DZ77GA - 70K was purchased with BIOS ver .0021 and now I'm working with the same version of the 0021.

I checked all the BIOS updates that you have and build on what and what is the fix, so I figured why I have some problems with my motherboard DZ77GA - 70K . ( when you turn on the PC , the fans spin at maximum speed , why do my schedule to boot the system I used to be a mess , some settings do not work well , and my PC in Win7 sometimes known by itself reset , I tried it with a Corsair Force3 SSD 120GB and Western Digital Blue 1TB HDD , and the same is happening ) .

So I want to upgrade the BIOS .
I wonder if I can upgrade my version of 0021 at the latest BIOS ver 0066 ?
Do you have to go row 0021-0066 ( 0027 , 0035 ... 0064 , 0066 - there are 14 versions ) ?
Does this ver . 0066 has all the upgrades and fixes version 0027-0064 ?
Which method updates the BIOS do you recommend ?
Thank you in advance for your answers , you will help me a lot !!!

Clean build, unable to boot to win7 DVD - DZ77GA-70K

BIOS: GAZ7711H.86A.0039.2012.0426.1622

Mobo: DZ77GA-70k

(All brand new products)

DVD drive:  ASUS DRW-241ST (SATA)

PSU: Corsair RM1000w

CPU: Intel i5 3350P @3.10 ghz

SSD: Intel SSD 730 - 480GB

Memory: 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 1600

When PC is powered on, motherboard splash screen displays with options F2 (bios), F7 (bios update), F10 (boot menu). If I do nothing, the system resets and same screen will display briefly before a notification displaying "BIOS has detected unsuccessful POST attempt(s). Possible causes include recent changes to BIOS Performance Options or recent hardware change. Press Y to enter setup or N to cancel and attempt to boot with previous settings". If I hit F10, boot menu screen displays with:

P2: Asus DRW-24B1ST i

P5: Intel SSDSC2BP480G4

UEFI: ASUS DRW-24B1ST i  (when UEFI is enabled)

I'm able to toggle between the options, pressing enter or space on the DVD drive does not appear to have any effect other than the screen locks up and I'm unable to toggle between options and mouse ceases to move. The DVD does not begin to spin, light does not turn on.  Leaving this screen on after selecting DVD drive for 5+ minutes has no effect and i'm forced to restart the PC.  Selecting UEFI DVD option and non UEFI DVD option has the same effect.

DVD drive is set to boot first in boot order. DVD drive successfully opens and will spin.  Have tried plugging into SATA ports 0,2,3 with no change in behavior or success. Have tried two different Windows 7 DVDs - one that was successful in a previous build and one that is brand new- both are for 64bit Windows 7 home. Have tried booting with Chipset SATA mode set to AHCI and IDE with no change in result between the two.

Have tried disabling and enabling UEFI BOOT with no change in result.

I'm unsure of where to proceed from here. Is there some other BIOS setting or combination of BIOS settings that will successfully boot from the DVD drive? Do I need to update my BIOS version? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Help for Non-booting Intel DQ35JO Motherboard

$

Hi everyone

I am seeking some help and advice on trying to get an Intel DQ35JO 775 board to boot. It starts up ok. I can get access to the bios, but I just can't get it to boot off any form of device or media. I have took out the cmos battery for an hour, reset the bios settings to default. I ahve tried known working sticks of RAM, working CPUs, onboard graphics and pci-express graphics card.

The board refuses to boot off any dvd drive (ide or sata) or usb stick. It seems to go through post ok, but it then just hangs at a black screen with a flashing cursor in the top left corner and 0_ in the bottom right hand corner.

Never had this kind of problem with Intel boards before. Does any have any suggestions or experience of getting this board to boot properly?

Thanks

DN2800MT doesn't boot with TBS6981 PCI-E inserted

Hi all,

I've just bought a DN2800MT to use with my existing TBS6981 dual DVB-S2 card to record TV. Unfortunately the board doesn't boot (no vga output) with the sat card inserted, without it, it's fine. I thought it might be a power issue, as the sat card has additional power socket for use on some motherboards that have low power PCI-E slots, but using external power for the card doesn't help. I read on the TBS forum http://www.tbsdtv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=7823&p=27515&hilit=boot+problem#p27515 that other manufacturer's boards have had similar problems that can be fixed by a BIOS update. I tried updating the standard 0163 to 0165 and again to the just released 0166, but neither helped. The sat card works fine without external power in the older system I hope to replace, and I'm out of ideas, can anyone help?
