DQ87PG - USB boot devices don't show up in F10 boot menue

$

If've configured my BIOS to *not* boot USB devices first. Booting from USB is enabled as well as the F10 boot menue. There are two SSD in my PC and the the first SSD is the boot device (legacy boot).

So far I could insert a bootable USB flash drive and when pressing F10 there was a list with my two SSDs and the flash drive which I could select and boot from.

The only change I've made since is updating the BIOS from 148 to 149.

When pressing F10 now, there are only my two SSD - no USB flash drive shows up.

The only way to boot from an USB flash drive now is to enable to boot USB devices first which isn't desirable nor practical.

It seems that BIOS 149 screwed something up, so please fix it!

DB65AL CMOS Battery-Related Issues

Hello. I am having issues with Intel Desktop Board DB65AL.

The issues are as follows:

  1. Delayed boot. Whenever I power/restart the PC, it takes a while (nearly 10 seconds) for the actual boot to start, the monitor's LED simply blinks indicating that it's not receiving anything, fans are spinning inside the case.
  2. Lack of internet connection upon first boot. Restarting the PC resolves this.

This started when my GPU (AMD Radeon HD 6870) started dying. I have tried another GPU (AMD Radeon R9 270) but PC wouldn't boot with it. I tried re-adding the CMOS battery to reset the BIOS settings, but that didn't help. Right now I'm using the integrated GPU of Intel i5-2500. So, later on when I booted the PC, I was greeted with CMOS battery failure warning. So I tried to re-seat it and the battery itself worked fine but then new issues arose: delayed boot and lack of internet on first power on. The battery is somewhat loose in its holder, compared to how it should be according the 360 degree view found on Intel site, however I have tried to make it "sit right", but that didn't help.

There's also the issue that without the battery or with battery not being in absolutely perfect position (still working, but I guess the mobo wants it sit perfectly), PC tends to shut down and restart itself sometimes multiple times when trying to restart the PC, which leads to lack of internet connection as it counts as power off - power on rather than a restart without powering the PC off.

Anything I could do?

PC specs:

  • MB: Intel DB65AL
  • CPU: Intel i5-2500 3.4GHz
  • GPU: Integrated (was Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 6870)
  • PSU: Corsair CX600 ATX12V (v2.2)
  • RAM: Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) 1333MHz
  • SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
  • OS: Windows 10

The second day my cpu fans finally arrived, but still i got nothing, no display on the monitor and no beeps, and no D LCD lights. I removed the cpu fan, and found out that it heat up very slowly , compared to the first time the cpu insantly heatup to like 80 degree C

Intel's name was born from the need in the field of static memory and dynamic memory. The years went by and there was a CPU which would revolutionize the field of computer technology. Never Inmagine me that this company was to build a motherboard such as the DX58S02, which only worked for a short time and are constantly CRASH.

DQ77KB doesn't start (doesn't turn on)

Hello. I have 2 DQ77KB boards. All of them worked fine but suddanly one of them stoped to turn on.

I had try components (CPU,RAM, Power Supply) from this motherboard on second MB for exclude the probability of malfunction of them. All components work fine.

When I connect power supply and RJ-45 cable to workable MB i have seen 2 LEDs - 1 led on MB (green) and 1 LED on RJ-45 port (green), than I pressed "start" button on the Case and coller begins to rotate.

When I connect power supply and RJ-45 cable to not workable MB i have seen 1 LEDs - 1 led on MB (green) and all. When I pressed "start" button on the Case coller doesn't rotate.

The version of BIOS probably is 0056.

What is the cause of the problem and what to do?

Unable to install USB network adapters (DP55WB, win 7 64bit)

Hi.

I have spent the last 4 days trying to solve a very persistent problem. You are my last resort before I do a clean install.

Specs:

Win7 64-bit Home Premium SP 1 OEM

Intel DP55WB, latest chipset, latest BIOS

16 gb ram

I'm not posting from my own machine, so sorry for being a bit unspecific. I can post more accurate specs later.

Case:

Have been using wired broadband without problems. Last summer I was also using USB WLAN adapter (A-link Wnu(m) 11n), which shows up as Realtek 8188CU in device manager) and have previously used mobile broadband without problems. However, recently I moved, and don't have access to a wired broadband anymore, I was trying to install a Huawei E353 dongle. The process was as follows: mass storage devices installed properly after which the autorun from the dongle started installing "Remote NDIS based device" which failed. This showed in the device manager as "Code 10 the device cannot start". This device apparently uses only windows drivers.

After this I tried the dongle on my wife's laptop which has Win 7 64-bit Enterprise version, 4 Gb of Ram. Installed correctly and gave internet access in about 7 seconds after plugging in the device. My wife on the other hand has a Huawei e586. I tried this on my machine and the results were similar: mass storage installs correctly, but some networking component always fails.

After this I tried installing the WLAN adapter I used last summer to connect with my wife's E586, but now this install also fails.

Every other USB device works fine, but anything related to networking fails. Also all three of these network adapters work perfectly on my wifes laptop. I was planning to do a clean install of win 7, but decided to ask here first.

Probable causes:

Since these devices have worked the previous summer, something done in between might have affected. Last winter I did a BIOS update, and also upgraded from 4 Gb of 1066Mhz RAM to 16 Gb of 1333Mhz. I can't remember in which order, but neither operation produced visible problems.

I did find a similar problem (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprohardware/thread/5d6b1afb-54fa-40b6-a4ba-382b0f9b28c0) where the problem was narrowed to generic usb hubs. I checked, and my device manager shows two generic usb hubs and two root hubs, but apparently the root hubs control the generic hubs, thus connecting all external ports to the generic hub. I don't understand anything about this, but the abovementioned thread provided no solution. Also, my wife's laptop's device manager shows only root hubs, so this might be the issue.

Troubleshooting measures so far:

Uninstalling practically every device in device manager (yes, even the hidden disconnected ones), including usb controllers/hubs.

Deleting the file supposedly containing usb driver history (which windows recreates, when you plug in a new device, can't remember the name).

Tried installing in safe mode.

Tried installing without keyboard attached and uninstalled the related composite device

Ran sfc /scannow without errors.

Ran chkdsk /f without errors.

Ran Memory diagnostic tool without errors.

Ran Tsskiller anti-rootkit utility, which quarantined ANPD64.sys (what is this anyway? Event logger has issued with this all the time...)

Tried truncatememory to limit memory to 4gb.

Using driver verifier, which only crashed on Intel desktop utilities, which I promptly uninstalled. After that a few crashes by ntoskrnl.exe and once by ndis.dll (I can provide dump files later, if necessary)

And probably many more I can't now remember...

So if you can propose possible causes or remedies I could attempt, I would be very grateful. I'm all prepared for the clean install, but I'm not confident that it will solve this problem.

Cheers,

Markus.

DH55PJ cold boot problem on UEFI GPT

Recently installed Windows 10 pro 64 bit after selecting UEFI boot in the BIOS, deleting all existing partitions (they were MBR) and creating fresh GPT partitions. Monitor connected via DVI to HDMI cable.

Problem 1: System will not cold boot after a shutdown. Stuck on Intel boot screen; no text at bottom right (boot options and boot code). Have to press the reset button to load Windows.

I was able to get around this by disabling fast start in Windows power options.

Problem 2. System will not cold boot after hibernating. Stuck on Intel boot screen; no text at bottom right (boot options and boot code). Have to press the reset button to load Windows.

Fast start is already disabled. Need help in figuring out what to do next.

Latest BIOS - TCIBX10H.86A.0048.EB.EXE

i3 540 processor with 4 GB RAM

500 GB HDD

This is a regular HDD (not SSD). I really want the fast start and hibernation to work. Everything was fine in Windows 7 in legacy boot to MBR partitions. Everything was fine after upgrading to Windows 10 in legacy boot to MBR partitions.

Good morning, I have a problem with my DX58S02, black screen, not beeps, 1. fan go on, 2. tested the PSU is ok. 3. did disconnect the AC power when I took it apart. I stripped the system down to bare case, with only the PSU, HDD, and the disc drive still installed. After I re-assembled everything, and connected all the pins and cables, including the 4-pin on the mother board. I connected AC power and tried to boot the system, but there was no beep and no video, even though the fans are turning, and still don't working.?

2 weeks working without luck.

What consumer options are there for using the eDP connector on the DQ77KB?

$

0

I realize this "embedded" option is meant for flat panel displays (as with LVDS).  Still... I haven't been able to find any examples of using this connector in a typical consumer configuration, i.e. real world, day-to-day, regular, accessible use.  There has been a bunch of greatwork by individuals who have built PCBs to adapt eDP/panel connectors to more consumer-friendly connectors (DisplayPort/HDMI).  There is also the Intel eDP whitepaper that details exactly what I am looking for -- an eDP-to-DP cable, but (a) the cable does not seem to be generally available to consumers (just a lab mock-up?) and (b) there is a report of a possible error in the m/b docs... so doesn't seem like strong evidence there of reliable use.

I haven't found any way to make use of the 40-pin eDP connector on the DQ77KB.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I would love to make use of it for a third display.

DZ68BC Bios Stability Issues Fixed

Ever since I updated my bios from 0028 to anything newer the board has been unusable.

Random reboots, no video, no post, no stability, no ME Management ver. displayed in bios. Just plain garbage.

The board worked flawless before the update, and Intel won't let anyone go back to 0028.

I read in another post about the memory slots being changed in the bios beginning with bios 0035.

Sure enough it looks like the black slots are the primary slots. Both black slots are slot 0 and both the blue slots are slot1.

The bios from version 0035 and higher REQUIRE a memory module in slot 0, the first black one closest to the CPU.

This cured everything about the board!!!  Even the overclocking problems with bios 0035.

I am currently running bios 0042 with absolutely no problems.

Here is my current setup:

i7-2700k

Corsair Vengeance 1600 mhz. Two 8 gig sticks. Both in black slots.

Intel ME ver. 8.1.0.1248  shows in bios

Windows 7 Pro

All latest video and chipset drivers from Intel's web site.

DZ68BC  DVI video port

Mildly overclocked to 4.2 Ghz

Hope this helps.

DH87RL - no video on dedicated graphics

$

Hello Community,

I have a somewhat strange problem with my DH87RL board. I'm using it in my pc for over a year now and the dedicated graphics adapter suddenly stopped working while I was browsing the web under Windows.

First of all I thought that my graphics adapter died (it's a ASUS Nvidia GeForce 750Ti OC) so I ordered a replacement, but the board still says that it can't find the adapter. The integrated graphics of the Intel i7 4770T works fine, the graphic cards (both) work fine in other PCs.

What I tried so far:

- Exchanging the graphics card with a new one - no success

- The trick to remove the bios battery for about 10hrs and reboot - did not work, no changes detected

- Setting the bios security pins to "reset", reboot and "normal" afterwards - just disabled the internal graphics too (without any BEEP sounds - just no signal on all ports - windows boots as normal in the background)

[removing the PCI-e card again brought back the signal from the internal graphics]

- Setting the bios settings to default in the bios gui. - nothing changed

Do you have a clue what I could test to get my card to work again?

Thank you for your ideas.

Does Win10 include drivers for DZ77BH-55K?

$

I want to clean-install Win10 on my DZ77BH-55K mobo. Since this board is no longer actively supported, Intel only distributes drivers for Win8. If I clean-install Win10, will I need to add additional drivers, or does Win10 have the drivers it needs. If I do need to add drivers, will the Win8 packages install, or must some other method be employed?

Thanks for any tips. I could just try the installation and see what happens, but I prefer to figure out pitfalls in advance when possible. I suppose other owners of older-but-viable mobos may have the same question. Has it been addressed elsewhere?
