DZ77GA-70K Question

Hello, I have recently purchased an intel DZ77GA-70K motherboard. I noticed that the motherboard contains an 8 pin CPU power connector, my 750W EVGA power supply only has dual 2x2 4 pin power cables. I was wondering since one 4 pin fits and locks into the middle of the 2x4 is this enough to power the motherboard / can i do this?

BIOS update. Too old CPU microcodes.

I bought a new CPU for my Intel DG41TY and installed it. It works, yet there is a couple pf problems. The first is that a couple of insructions don't work. SSE4.1 and Intel VT-x and it cant restart. For restart I must shut down PC first and then turn it on again. Many people are had the same problem, they just modded their BIOS updating the microcodes section. I can't do it because of security against uncertified BIOS files.

P.S. I have the latest BIOS for my m/b, it is  TYG4110H.86A.0045.2010.0706.1910 dating 07/06/2010, Yet the microcodes there are from 2008.

I have a old Intel DP67DE MB that is bricked and recovery won't work, I need the 4MB bin BIOS file for re-flashing the SPI, there any where I can get this? There is no post beeps and nothing is display after doing a BIOS update, removing the jumper to go into recovery mode didn't work, still nothing and resetting CMOS, so my only option is to re-program the BIOS and can't use the Bio files.

Comprei um pente de RAM DDR3 4GB 1333MHz da Kingston, instalei no pc, este não liga, testei o pc apenas com esta memoria nova, o pc continua sem funcionar. Será que é problema na memória?

I7-2600K speed drops to 1600MHz on DZ68DB when running Prime95

Hello,

I've just put together a system with DZ68DB Intel motherboard and I7-2600K CPU. Right now: no overclocking, liquid cooling. When I'm testing it by running Prime95 torture test, the CPU speed drops to 1600Mhz shortly after the start as shown by "CPU-Z". The temperatures at this time are in low 50's C as shown by "Core Temp". What could be wrong?

Thanks

I7-2600K on DZ68DB CPU Clock jumps

Hello,

I have a problem with cpu clock: I7-2600K on DZ68DB, BIOS ver. 0043, Win 7 Pro, 64bit.

I turned off SpeedStep, C State and Turbo Boost in BIOS settings, but CPUID shows me: "CPU Clock - 1596.x , Multiplier - 16x jumping to CPU Clock - 3392.x, Multiplier - 34".

How can I get the constant CPU speed?

Thanks,

Evgeny

No display signal after bios change and reboot on DQ77KB

Hi

I have a DQ77KB board that works but no longer outputs a video signal. I can attach my screen to the displayport via an hdmi to displayport adapter and to the hdmi port.

After trying a different setting in the bios(unfortunately I don't rembemer how it was) I was no longer able to get a display signal.

The board boots up with no problem

removing ram produces 3 beeps, with ram all okay, green led, fans spinning fast and then slowly after it seems to have done a post, numlock keys on keyboard turning on and off okay

but I have no idea how to get my display signal back.

I tried to get the BIOS to go back to its default settings by changing the jumper to 2-3 but guess what I'm not getting a video signal so I have no idea as to what keystrokes I should be doing

The same applies to trying to flash the BIOS with a .bio file on a formatted usb key (even tried 2 usb keys with a bio file at same time) I see the usb led activity but I can't see what is going on and for all I know it might expect a keystroke I am unaware off. I then wait for a long time but unfortunately the bios doesn't seem to have been flashed as my no display remains.

Could someone please tell me what keystroke presses are expected to either go into the bios and reset to default settings and/or what keypresses are expected from inserting a usb drive with a .bio file? All of that is ofcourse under the assumption that a bios setting keeps me from having a video signal.

Any tips/ideas/procedure are very appreciated thank you

Dual-channel memory questions

I realize that Intel left the consumer board business, but I'm not asking about a specific board.

Some people have commented on Tom's Hardware forums that using all memory sockets puts a burdensome load on the CPU's memory controller. That sounds like a load of something else entirely to me. So, in general, using all sockets, with a 64-bit OS, whether dual-channel or triple-channel, assuming all sticks have the same model number:

- Does system performance improve over using just one pair/triple or is it merely an increase in available memory?

- Does it have any adverse affects, e.g. CPU heat?

- Were the comments ever true, perhaps with older generations of processors?

Using sticks with the same model number is best, but just how close do they need to be? I would imagine that speed, CL, voltage, and size must be the same. But what if sticks from the same trusted manufacturer (e.g. Micron/Crucial, Samsung, or SK Hynix) are used, with both both having the same speed, CL, voltage, and size, but with one having chips on only one side and the other having chips on both sides, i.e. the former is a generation newer than the latter?

auxiliary fan not working

I have an older model desk top with an Intel motherboard DP965LT.  I booted up my system this morning and got a message "Auxiliary Fan (0 RPM) slowed or stopped".  I rebooted the system to make sure the fan was still not working, which it is not.  My question, is this issue fixable, as in can the fan be replaced or does the motherboard need to be replaced or ...?  Is cleaning the fan/motherboard an option?

Any thoughts to my dilemma are appreciated.

BIOS update failed on DP35DP, can't recover

Hey all!

I know that this mobo is outdated but I ought to use it on my little home filesharing server. All was fine except strange poweroff effect. I have Arch Linux installed and when I try to power down my server programmatically or via power button computer does not power off completely - fans are still spinning.

I've googled a lot and find out that this is related to the outdated BIOS version. So I've downloaded 0572 version (ISO file) and flashed my BIOS. This step was successful but the problem with poweroff was still presented. Also I've noticed random hangs when in CMOS settings screen.

So then I've found that 0497 version is good enough and solves the problem. I've downloaded BIO file and burnt it to my CD (CD-ROM was set as SATA RAID mode). Then I've removed jumper and started my PC. Screen backlight was working but no characters on the screen were present. I waited about 10 minutes and then tried to reboot PC via keyboard but with no luck. Then I powered down the chassis completely via power button. After that I've plug the jumper back and tried to boot PC. I can see that backlight ups and offs but no characters are on the screen. I cant ever get into CMOS config screen. Setting jumper to the 2-3 position didn't solve the problem. But one strange thing: if I only connect two hard drives and try to boot up i can see grub welcome screen, Arch starts to boot but fails as it can't mount some drives. I thought that the problem is related to the VGA card and removed it but no POST messages were heard. So, guys, I have semi-dead chipset and wonder if there any way to restore BIOS.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Right Click on Desktop causes Delay because of igfxsrvc.exe

Hello,

the process igfxsrvc.exe is apparently part of the Intel Common User Interface and in use/started when I perform a right click on the desktop which causes an annoying delay of about 2 seconds while opening the context menu.

What is that process for?

Can I disable it or is there another way to avoid the delay?

I downloaded the "SetupRST.zip" file and after rebooting numerous times i keep receiving the message "reboot pending for this application". Intel's site lists only one application for the technology. The MB is an MSI Z97A and has an Intel z97 Express Chipset. I also get an error dump which says to re-install the application which has no effect.

I just got a black screen so will load the error message and attach the dump log to my next email.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am using a dual AMD Radeon R9 270 Crossfire GPUs.

thanks,

XFX R9 280x and DP67BG: any hope?

$

Hello everyone,

I have running two graphics cards, Nvidia GTX460 and AMD HD6850 on Windows 7 sp1. I use the 460 for my monitor, and the 6850 for a little mining. Both work fine together. I recently purchased an XFX R9 280x, however, I can't seem to get it to work. After I install, along with the GTX460, it's recognized by device manager, but it does not show up in the video resolution dialog window. GPUz identifies the 280x, but clockspeed and voltage don't show. Also, when installed as the only card, it shows the boot screen, but after post, the screen goes dark, with a lonely 0_ showing in the lower right. The code on the board shows 00. The computer continues to load windows, but the monitor remains the same. I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers ad infinitum using Ccleaner and DDU, updated the BIOS, cleared the CMOS, and tried different PCIe slots. I even did a clean windows install. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

R9 280x and DP67BG. Are there any solutions? Please help!

I have a Intel DP67BG motherboard.  Just purchased a lovely new Radeon R9 280x with the last of my savings.

My current card is the HD6950.  Took it out and replaced it with the R9 280x.  Upon boot I get a quick bios screen flash as per usual, but then the screen goes black, with only a   0_   at the bottom right of the screen.  The weird thing is I can hear windows booting up and everything, even connecting to our wireless network etc.

HAve done some googling and it seems that this particular motherboard isn't compatible with the newer graphics cards.  This is really really bad news for me as I have no more budget to change motherboards.

ARe ther any solutions?  Please help!!

Here's an example of another person with this problem.  But not sure if he could solve it or not:  https://communities.intel.com/thread/51064

DP67BG +R9 390 shows "0_" error in bottom right corner

I´ve recently upgraded my GPU from R7950(Sapphire) to new R9-390 (Gigabyte). I can get into BIOS but once Windows starts to boot it shows black screen and "0_" code in the bottom right corner of the screen. I hear how windows boot (opening windows theme music), but screen shows only "0_" code. Also i´ve read forums here on intel website and many people have similar problem with Intel boards and Radeon 200 and 300 series (and some nVidia card also) so the problem have to be with Intel MBs and not GPU itself. I have latest BIOS (2209) released in 2012 !!!

My request is to update BIOS so it will support those new cards as this MB is still actual and 1150 CPUs are still in production.

My specs:

MB: Intel DP67BG (latest BIOS "2209" from 2012?!?)

CPU: i7-2600K

GPU: Gigabyte R9-390 8GB (non-gaming version clocked to 1000 MHz )

RAM: 4x2GB kingston HyperX 1600MHz

SSD - 74Gb Intel

HDD -WD 1,5Tb

PSU: Forton 700W
