DH61WW Stuck at 99

Hi folks,

We are trying to upgrade a DH61WW board to the latest BIOS revision, 120.

We have made it as far as 99, and we cannot get any of the successive revisions (109, 111, 113, 116, and 120) to install. We have tried updating via the recovery method (with the jumper), through the BIOS (F7), and via Windows. With all methods the screen goes black and nothing happens.

The problem we have with 99 is that the network chipset is showing a driver problem in Windows 10. Even with the latest driver it says the device cannot start.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Windows 10 and DG965RY - wake timers broken

$

Hi, Everyone.

I've owned the DG965RY Intel Motherboard for about 9+ years.

With Windows 7, the wake timers worked fine. (Wake timers allow the computer to wake itself up on it's own based on scheduled activities.)

I upgraded to Windows 10 this past Saturday.

My DVR application would not wake up the computer.

After further investigation, nothing was waking up the computer.

powercfg -waketimers would show that the timers are indeed in the computer, but the machine would not awake from sleep.

I have the most recent bios and drivers installed.

Just to be sure, I did a fresh install of Windows 10 yesterday.

Same issue. The computer is not waking up.

powercfg -waketimers would still show that the timers are in the queue.

Wakeup worked flawlessly under Windows 7.

So, something is different in Windows 10 and it's broken waketimers functionality with my motherboard.

It's a real bummer because Windows 10 runs rather nicely on this motherboard. I actually like it better than 7. I think it runs a tad bit faster.

Now I'm not expecting Intel to release an updated Bios to fix this issue on a 10 year old motherboard.

But I did want to document this in case someone else comes along and is struggling with the same issue and also as a warning that users of this motherboard should take this information into consideration before upgrading to Windows 10.

Having said that, if anyone has any suggestions at this point, I'm all ears. (Like, is there a different bios that is for a different board but will function on this motherboard that could solve the problem.)

I would like to open an incident with Microsoft so they can add this to their list of items to fix. Does anyone have any direction on how I can open an incident with them, etc.?

Thanks! And have a great day!

Intel DZ87KLT-75K gives "CPU hot" error fresh out the box

I have a new Intel DZ87KLT-75K motherboard with an i7-4770K processor that won't boot.  I have seen two other posts of similar, but different issues.

Everything is new out of boxes and I am very careful with ESD working on nonconductive surfaces.

When I try to start up, I press the power button,  the system tries to start, the fans start up and then the "CPU hot" lights up and the system shuts off, and tries to power up again, the fans go on, the "CPU hot" light goes on and shuts off again, and system tries to power on again, and this will continue until I turn off power to the system.  There are no beeps, and the LED displays only show zeroes.

I pulled everything apart and put it back together again and the problem still remains.  Even tried getting into BIOS with just processor/heatsink and 1 RAM, but won't get past this.

Any suggestions?

Doug

DZ87KLT BIOS has detected unsuccessful POST attempt(s)

System gets message on startup after powering up

"BIOS has detected unsuccessful POST attempt(s)..."

and offers a choice of entering BIOS or retrying boot with existing settings. Neither works, and BIOS cannot be entered. After the initial splash screen, and typing F2, the above message repeats.

Up to now, the system has been operating without problems for more than a year.

After sitting for several hours, the system booted normally. Now, following subsequent shutdown, the message has reappeared. There have been no hardware changes or BIOS changes. When the system is in the failing state described above, the internal motherboard 7-segment display stops on "00 92", after running through several other values.

DZ87-KLT motherboard with BIOS KLZ8711D.86A.0453.2014.1007.1848

1) How can I find out the cause of this error? The Tech Spec says 0x92 means "Detecting the presence of the keyboard". After the "BIOS has detected unsuccessful POST attempt(s)..." message, typing Y or N on the keyboard is sensed, as it causes another iteration of the message after some re-initialization.

2) How can I fix the cause, so this error does not occur?

XFX R9 280x and DP67BG: any hope?

Hello everyone,

I have running two graphics cards, Nvidia GTX460 and AMD HD6850 on Windows 7 sp1. I use the 460 for my monitor, and the 6850 for a little mining. Both work fine together. I recently purchased an XFX R9 280x, however, I can't seem to get it to work. After I install, along with the GTX460, it's recognized by device manager, but it does not show up in the video resolution dialog window. GPUz identifies the 280x, but clockspeed and voltage don't show. Also, when installed as the only card, it shows the boot screen, but after post, the screen goes dark, with a lonely 0_ showing in the lower right. The code on the board shows 00. The computer continues to load windows, but the monitor remains the same. I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers ad infinitum using Ccleaner and DDU, updated the BIOS, cleared the CMOS, and tried different PCIe slots. I even did a clean windows install. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good day!

Thanks for the help.

cant access BIOS (DB85FL)

I recently bought a new desktop ( i5-4670 + Intel DB85FL ). The assembler installed an pirated win 7 and demonstrated that all systems are working properly. I bought a win 8.1 pro from Microsoft and made a fresh install.

Everything was nice and pretty except 4 "secure boot not configured" watermark on the desktop. So I went into the UEFI bios and checked the secure boot option (there were 2 other related options [cant recall what they were] which I didn't check).

That did not remove the "secure boot not configured" watermark but now instead of press F2 F10 etc screen I get a beep error which according to my motherboard manual is no video detected error. then it goes into windows which is working properly.

if i go to

PC settings > update & recovery > recovery > adv startup> troubleshoot> adv opt>uefi firmware

after the beeps the computer becomes un-responsive

restarting doesn't help it still becomes un-responsive after the beeps

after a being powered of for a long time (< 15-30 minutes) it boots into windows after the beeps.

i tried updating the bios from windows ; didn't work went unresponsive after restart

so i update the bios by removing the security jumper ; it was successful.

now i no longer get the beep errors and go directly to windows.

but i cant go into bios and PC settings >...>uefi firmware option

makes the computer becomes un-responsive like before.

the man who assemble the pc has no clue how to help

what am I to do now ?

Do any BIOS upgrades that are compatible with DP67DE support booting of USB3 external drives bigger than 2.2 TB?

Hi

I have a system with mobo DP67DE, and a Western Digital "My Book" 3 TB external USB3.0 drive to use as a backup.  The drive runs o.k. if I don't plug it in until after the system boots up, but the system fails to boot with the error "BIOS has detected unsuccessful POST attempt" if the drive is connected and powered up before startup. This happens regardless of whether the drive is connected to a USB3 or USB2 port on the mother board.

A note on the Western Digital site says that many PCs exhibit this failure mode if confronted with a drive of 2.2 GB or larger.  Currently the mobo is running BIOS 0064 and I note that the latest BIOS is 0079.  Would upgrading solve the problem?

I also see there is something called "INTEL USB 3.0 Extensible host controller driver."  would that solve the problem?

Thank you.

How can I tell visually if a MB is DQ57TM or DQ57TML? Board won't start?

I have a desktop with either a DQ57TM or a DQ57TML. On powerup from case power switch the green led on the MB lights. When the front on/off switch is pushed the fams jerk as if starting then nothing - and the green led thanges to red. I assume the board has died from power surges recently and want to replace it with the same board but don't know how to gell which it is - and of course can't find the manual to see if it has information. I'm trying to avoid reinstalling all the drivers. Sorry for any tpos...just a bit visually impaired right now.

Apologies if this is a repeat, but I attempted to post a week or so ago and never saw it appear.

d525mw can't boot, blinking every 2.5

Hello. I have intel motherboard d525mw. It worked well for several years and at some point it stops to boot.

Green LED on the board blinking every 2.5 seconds without any pause. So there is no pattern, which is covered by the manual.

I have tried to remove RAM (I have only one module), but it doesn't change the pattern.

I don't have a screen to connect, so can't look what is on the screen if there is anything.

Do you have any ideas what could it be?

Removing custom bios splashscreen from DQ57TM

$

Hi all,

I have inherited a DQ57TM board and processor and want to use it in a system I am making for a friend.

However the board used to be in another system and the manufacturer has installed a custom bios splashscreen that is displayed on power on. I Ideally want to remove this.

I have found out how to install my own splashscreen using the Integrator's toolkit, but Ideally I'd like to restore the default Intel spalshscreen.

All the instructions that I have found for doing this seem to relate to much older boards, and don't seem to work with this one.

Can someone tell me how to restore the default splashscreen please?

Cheers.

Phill.

I have a Gigabyte Motherboard "GA-EP43-UD3L" and want to install Windows 10 on it but Gigabyte doesn't have the updates for this motherboard and referred me back to Intel, the chipset manufacturer. Can I get new drivers for this chipset from anywhere for Windows 10 upgrade? I have the P43 Express Chipset Northbridge and ICH10 Southbridge. I'm using a Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 3 Ghz. Thanks for any help you may give.

How to Remove Raid 1

I have a Raid 1 mirror where one of the disk is showing S.M.A.R.T. events so I want to remove it while leaving the data on the other disk intact.

My machine uses Intel Rapid Store so I can access it with ctrl-I during POST.

To be sure I don't delete data can someone tell me the proper and safe actions to take to remove the RAID?  I'll have to find a identical drive to repair it later but for now I just want to access the other disk's data as if there is just a single disk.

Thanks

BIOS Update issues with a DH61BE

I am having trouble getting the board to boot passed the EB code and splash screen.  I can enter the BIOS or Boot Menu screen. but that's it.  I can't boot from SSD, USB flash, or CD.  The board is at BIOS 0032, and it has an i7-2600 and 8 GB of Patriot DDR3 memory.

I understand I need to update to 0048, then 0099, before going to the latest.  Using the BIOS's update function (F7) tells me I need to use iFlash.  However, I can't boot any device to do so.  When I try the recovery steps using the onboard jumper, nothing happens.  I have only the 0048.BIO file on a flash drive, which is detected by the BIOS, but the recovery procedure never even displays anything on screen.  I am dead in the water at this point and I am not sure how to proceed.

I can provide more details, if needed.
