Intel DQ77KB no video, no POST (2x2 beeps = video error?) after power failure

Hello guys,

Im having a setup with a intel dq77kb, 16 gb ram and an intel i7 processor. Worked like a charm for years untill a power failure in the house electricity this week. Everything went down and if I startup the computer I hear 2 times 2 beeps (with earplugs connected) which should be a video error. Since Im not having a external video card I guess the problem is the processor. I already stripped the board to the minimum (leaving only memory and processor). The same beeps remain leaving me with no post screen, no bios enter and no video output. Any idea what the problem is?

Hi

I'm trying to install a network adapter Intel PRO 1000 PT on my motherboard DH87RL.

I put it on a PCI-E x16, led is blinking when I plug a wire, system is starting but the device doesn't show in BIOS (v0330).

Is there a known incompatibility within this device and my mother board ?

Thank you.

Hi.

I recently purchased a X540-T2 card and tried installing it in my machine featuring a DP67BG mainboard. However it does not boot and halts with the port 80h code "27" ("Configuring memory"). In another machine the card works just fine. Are there any known issues regarding the combination of motherboard and NIC?

Thanks for your help, Moritz

dh67bl sata 3gb/s not working

Hello. I have a dh67bl motherboard and i am trying to install multiple drives but with no good results.

I have a corsair 90gb ssd...a Toshiba 3tb and a wd purple 4tb.

All work ok alone on the 6gb/s sata...in all configurations.

But when i try to add one on the 3gb/s sata i can sometimes see it in bios..but the windows doesn't recognize it. Windows on ssd is in ahci mode without uefi...and now i tried with another install on the wd drive ahci with uefi activated but with same results.

I am using a jumper settings to go to 3gb/s on the wd whenever i try to plug it in in the 3gb/s ports. the Toshiba as i know needs no such thing. Tried changing all the sata cables multiple times also.

Whenever i have a disk in the 3gb/s sata and i see it in bios...the windows boot hans..or just stays blocked....or sometimes it goes but i cant see the drive in windows; or i see it but i cant do anything with it.

Any ideas at this point are welcomed.

Thanks.

Boot secrure setting ? DQ77MK

After installing DQ77MK board in a new case with new drives I want to install Centos 7 but on booting via dvd and choosing install I get the common error

a tpm error (7) occurred attempting to read a pcr value

I've been in the bios setting to BOOT and security and tried every setting. Sometime I get a security warning about the device  and sometimes I get the same error as aover but I can't seem to hit the right combination to install the OS.

Does anyone have a screen shot or more advice they can give ? All I am doing is setting up a webserver for fun and this driving me crazy and the board won't accept F2 so I have keep using the switch inside the case. I think the bios is upto date.

Windows 10 will not boot into UEFI mode

I just got a new WD Blue SSD (250GB) and I went for a clean slate, so I ran the windows installer from a microSD card (and adapter) and tried installing, couldn't do it (more reasons soon)

I found out that there were exceptions and hurdles to doing it this way, so I ran to the store to get a DVD-R and install like that.

Also did not work correctly, because I didn't boot the DVD in UEFI mode (I can't install windows 10 onto the SSD at all without GPT/UEFI mode)

So, finally got windows installed after that (seems easy here, but this took hours) and now Intel's DZ68DB Motherboard flat out refuses to boot the newly installed Windows installation.

The partitions are all GPT, UEFI is enabled, so is AHCI, no other drives are active when I'm trying to boot it (I have even disconnected the DVD drive to attempt to get this to work)

No matter what I do, I can't boot into windows directly (There is a "P0" option next to the disk, but no "UEFI")

The Windows Boot Manager just flashes the screen, as in, I select it, and the screen flashes, then the drive list is there. It seems to just fail to launch the boot manager for unknown reasons.

So there it is. At this point, I'm either going to be blaming the SSD itself (chkdsk from Windows Installer says nothing is wrong with it, and I've personally be able to write/read to it without issues) or the motherboard.

I am not sure why I can't force this to boot in UEFI mode, or why the windows boot manager won't launch, but I'm at the end of my rope and thinking about buying a new motherboard at this point.

Anybody know why this is happening?

Real Time Clock DST issue ICH8

$

I have a very unusual issue with the Daylight Savings Time operation of the RTC in the ICH8.

On April 2, 2017 at 2 am, several boards using Intel chipset ICH8 jumped 1 hour ahead.

We could not reproduce in the lab at first, but after several attempts, it did occur, then kept occurring every time we ran past 2am on 4/2/2017.

We found there was a bug in our software that was always setting Bit 0 (DSE) of register B of the RTC.

Turning this bit off disables the DST shift on the units that it was occurring.

Now, the question is: why did it not happen on all units?  Is there something else that would prevent DST when it is enabled?

And, why does it only do the "spring ahead" and not the "fall back" adjustment?

To get even weirder, the same bug that always enabled DST was also in an older product with intel 486 and MC146818.  Even though DST was always enabled, it never did DST adjustments (not on 1st or last Sunday in April or any other date tested).  Is there something else that disables DST even though Reg B of the 146818 enables it?

Intel D955XBK, IMPI Interface and PCI Serial Port errors, plus IEEE 1394B no longer recognized. HELP!!!

$

Hello, n00b here... I have a custom built desktop that was handed down to me, and I took it from an XP to Windows 7 Ultimate, 32-bit. I can no longer use the IEEE 1394B connection to transfer mini-DV tape footage from a Sony camcorder into this computer using either Sony Vegas 10 or Window MovieMaker 6. I have the 1394B cable and just in case, ordered the 1394A cable to see if it is just the cable. I REALLY need to get this hooked up. Any help? Any Advice?

Not sure if this could be the cause, too, but I am getting the error messages for IPMI Interface and PCI Serial Port in the Other Devices are in Computer Management/Device Manager. I have tried to download and install the 1394B_XP_32_4.0.1.exe driver, which FINALLY installed, but made no difference in recognition for the jack, or the error messages. I am officially out of options, and am open to new possibilities if you have them.

Last question: Can older technology like a IEEE 1394B connection be installed in newer computers? Thanks for any help that any of you can send!

DZ77GA-70k, ACPI Suspend State missing from UEFI BIOS power menu, need help

$

So after transferring my PC from one case to another, the ability to sleep my PC in windows disappeared. Doing pwercfg -a in command prompt got me a very odd response:

powercfg display.jpg

So this pointed me to BIOS instead of Windows, and on youtube i found an overview of the BIOS of this exact board and saw that there is an ACPI Suspend State option in the Power menu pictured here:ACPI there.jpg

But its missing in my BIOS. Here is what i see

bios power.jpg

Is there wiring on the board that has a problem? Header? Some BIOS configuration of some sort? At one point, my entire BIOS got reset and i had to reconfigure my overclock and fan header settings, but that was nothing i hadn't already done before back when sleep worked. Any ideas? Im at a loss and i need to be able to sleep my computer.

Network Adapter will not start on cold startup.

$

Hey guys, I need your help.
I have been trying to fix this problem for 3 days now with no success.

Symptoms: On COLD STARTUP during BIOS POST initializing, network adapter will not turn on, no green light. After boot, device manager shows correct name of adapter Intel 82579V (FYI integrated) with yellow marking. The driver is loaded but has not started as indicated in the System information. If I reboot or disable the driver and then enable it, the network adapter will then turn on. Subsequent boots will keep the adapter working, but if I shutdown the PC completely and then restart, then the network adapter will be turned off. When I startup the PC with the power off (cold start S5 soft-off state), the network adapter will not start and when I check the adapter's properties-details-power data, the current power state will be D3, which means no power provided.

What I have tried:

1. Installed latest driver, resulted in same problem.

2. Installed the Intel NVRAM update to correct the chipset name of the adapter 82579V from 82579LM, resulted in same problem.

3. Installed a new CMOS battery, resulted in same problem.

4. Defaulted BIOS settings, resulted in same problem.

5. Jumped the BIOS pins and reset with full power cycle, resulted in same problem.

6. Jumped the Intel ME Engine pins and reset, resulted in same problem.

7. Basic checks: Reseated all cables. Checked the integrated adapter, no visual problems. Motherboard is less than 1 year old. Capacitors look fine.

8. Re-installed Windows, resulted in same problem.

9. Checked the network adapter WITHOUT Windows installed, resulted in same problem. Cold start, no power, but if you reboot from BIOS again, the adapter will turn on.

10. Tested with different Power Supply, resulted in same problem.

11. Oh yeh, unchecked all the power saving features under power management for network device, resulted in same problem.

12. Check BIOS LAN was enabled, resulted in same problem.

Now here's where I need yourhelp. I already did all of the above. The key check that I made is that WITHOUT the Windows and drivers installed, the problem still occurs, adapter does not start on cold startup, but if you reboot with just the BIOS installed, the green light will come on indicating the adapter now has power. That would indicate a problem in the BIOS POST not starting the adapter from a soft-off state or a mechanical off state.

Note: A related problem that occurred at the same time that this network adapter issue occurred is that if I shutdown the PC and then I shut off the surge protector that the PC is connected to, or if I just remove the plug from the PC, then I cannot restart the PC with the power button switch. Even with the new CMOS battery in, if I go from no power (G3 Mechanical Off), to plugging back in and starting the PC, it will not turn on. If I remove the battery while the PC is still plugged in, it still will not start. It will only start if I disconnect the power (Mechanical Off) and then remove the battery and then plug back in, and then hit the power button, then the PC will start.

It seems like there is a problem in the power settings within the BIOS, but even with a fresh BIOS Jump and default settings, results in the same problem.

My Specs:

Windows 7 32bit

DH61CR Motherboard (integrated Network adapter 82579V)

I5-2500 CPU

No additional PCI cards

Corsair PSU VS650

All Drivers are up-to date.
All Windows Updates installed.

Latest BIOS installed.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Desktop board dp67bg returns nothing when using wmic bios get serialnumber

$

Hello,

I was trying to install software that requires a bios serial number. In the past I could just press enter, but not any longer.

What I have been able to figure out so far is that the Intel® Integrator Toolkit seems to be able to program a string, which then would be returned by

the command wmic bios get serialnumber.

This post describes a similar problem and his resolution.

No Serialnumber in BIOS on Intel NUC

The author says:

Found the solution.

Using vcustw64.exe contained in the ITK download. This command will set the model name:

vcustw64 -SMBIOS -SP=NUC -QUEUE="%TEMP%\i.txt" -APPLYQUEUE

So this is what I am trying to do.

I have downloaded Intel_Integrator_Toolkit_6.1.6.zip, but it does not list my motherboard as a target of it.
