Turbo Boost Keeps Appearing on Boot

$

I bought a new PC and it came installed with Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 program.

Whenever Windows 10 boots to the desktop, a popup appears from this program showing, well.. whatever it shows, something about cores.

I want this to not happen.

I tried Uninstalling the app using Windows normal process, but the app does not uninstall.  Do I need it?  Can I get rid of it? If so how, or how to suppress the horrible popup that I cannot seem to stop.

Bit of a nightmare.

Wake up from sleep mode suddenly not possible

Dear Friends,

My processor is DX58SO INTEL. My OS is 1709 (OS Build 16299.64). After the latest Autumn update I have a problem with waking from sleep mode, namely, after my desktop goes to "sleep" for a long time (OVERNIGHT) and I try to wake it up, the screen stays black. The “engine” is working. The red LED, which shows the hard disk activity, is continually ON (indicating that the disk is fully loaded). In fact, I see and hear disc drive activity and I believe (not confirmed) that the PC has woken up waiting for my password, but the screen remains black. I cannot see the cursor. Actually, lately, I found out that the problem occurs every other day, when I wake my PC in the morning. If I wake it after a few hours, say 7 hours, it wakes up normally.

Please note that when I start the pc from cold, it starts normally.

Microsoft Support say that they checked my pc thoroughly and Windows settings are all right. They said that there is probably something wrong with the power settings of BIOS.

I should appreciate your advice, as I could not find the appropriate help from my search, i.e. I cannot understand,

Why and how did it happen? Is it due to Windows Autumn update? Is it a virus (I use Bitdefender Total Security and Malwarebytes)

Is there anything I could I do?

Shall I have to Change processor in the end?

I look forward to any advice.

Saludos.

MoBo - Intel DP55WB

Any other info please ask... The problem I looked into was because my PC was giving the two beeps break two beeps issue... when I showed the pics to a computer service engineer, he claimed it can be fixed easily and said it just takes a day...

Is it true that it can be fixed... I don't want to be screwed for some petty cash, then later realizing it was all for nothing...

SAS HDD into SATA II board

Will G41 chipset (SATA II) accept my SAS drive via a cable adapter or an SAS controller card? Some say cable, others say card. I am still reading and still not clear. Star-Tech part number: SAS729PW18 & I quote..."allows you to connect a SAS drive to SATA controller that supports SAS drives."  Is the "sata controller" built into my 'board, since my PC is already a SATA? Thank You. My lack of hardware knowledge belies my 3 score+5 residency here.

Issue with Extreme Tuning Utility - Tuning capability is gone

Hi,

I have i7-2600k with a DP67BG board. I have this system for several years and I have been always using Intel's extreme tuning utility to overclock my system successfully.

Recently I have formatted my PC and upgraded my windows to WIN10 x64. Now when installing the Tuning Utility I don't see any of the features that were present before. In fact, the tool offers almost no option to do any overclocking at all !!!

Here's an example:

Previously it looked like this:

As you can see I could overwrite every PLL multiplier and DDR configuration.

(The image is taken from Intels overclocking manual for this motherboard - http://downloadmirror.intel.com/19482/eng/DP67BG_PerfTuningGuide01.pdf )

Now it looks like this:

I can only change the boost voltage.

Please help me resolve this issue,

Evgy

Network Adapter will not start on cold startup.

Hey guys, I need your help.
I have been trying to fix this problem for 3 days now with no success.

Symptoms: On COLD STARTUP during BIOS POST initializing, network adapter will not turn on, no green light. After boot, device manager shows correct name of adapter Intel 82579V (FYI integrated) with yellow marking. The driver is loaded but has not started as indicated in the System information. If I reboot or disable the driver and then enable it, the network adapter will then turn on. Subsequent boots will keep the adapter working, but if I shutdown the PC completely and then restart, then the network adapter will be turned off. When I startup the PC with the power off (cold start S5 soft-off state), the network adapter will not start and when I check the adapter's properties-details-power data, the current power state will be D3, which means no power provided.

What I have tried:

1. Installed latest driver, resulted in same problem.

2. Installed the Intel NVRAM update to correct the chipset name of the adapter 82579V from 82579LM, resulted in same problem.

3. Installed a new CMOS battery, resulted in same problem.

4. Defaulted BIOS settings, resulted in same problem.

5. Jumped the BIOS pins and reset with full power cycle, resulted in same problem.

6. Jumped the Intel ME Engine pins and reset, resulted in same problem.

7. Basic checks: Reseated all cables. Checked the integrated adapter, no visual problems. Motherboard is less than 1 year old. Capacitors look fine.

8. Re-installed Windows, resulted in same problem.

9. Checked the network adapter WITHOUT Windows installed, resulted in same problem. Cold start, no power, but if you reboot from BIOS again, the adapter will turn on.

10. Tested with different Power Supply, resulted in same problem.

11. Oh yeh, unchecked all the power saving features under power management for network device, resulted in same problem.

12. Check BIOS LAN was enabled, resulted in same problem.

Now here's where I need your help. I already did all of the above. The key check that I made is that WITHOUT the Windows and drivers installed, the problem still occurs, adapter does not start on cold startup, but if you reboot with just the BIOS installed, the green light will come on indicating the adapter now has power. That would indicate a problem in the BIOS POST not starting the adapter from a soft-off state or a mechanical off state.

Note: A related problem that occurred at the same time that this network adapter issue occurred is that if I shutdown the PC and then I shut off the surge protector that the PC is connected to, or if I just remove the plug from the PC, then I cannot restart the PC with the power button switch. Even with the new CMOS battery in, if I go from no power (G3 Mechanical Off), to plugging back in and starting the PC, it will not turn on. If I remove the battery while the PC is still plugged in, it still will not start. It will only start if I disconnect the power (Mechanical Off) and then remove the battery and then plug back in, and then hit the power button, then the PC will start.

It seems like there is a problem in the power settings within the BIOS, but even with a fresh BIOS Jump and default settings, results in the same problem.

My Specs:

Windows 7 32bit

DH61CR Motherboard (integrated Network adapter 82579V)

I5-2500 CPU

No additional PCI cards

Corsair PSU VS650

All Drivers are up-to date.
All Windows Updates installed.

Latest BIOS installed.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Muchas gracias

DQ77KB, no Video, no Post, 3 beeps after changing BIOS settings

Hello,

updating BIOS from 0056 to 0059 results in a "FW Update Sample Application ERROR FwUpdateFullBuffer [failed!] Flash update failed! " message.

After booting into BIOS strangely enough, 0059 was displayed in the BIOS screen.

But the second LAN port was missing. I cleared all settings to default and started a recovery BIOS update with jumpers off via USB stick.

This did not help, got the same error. So i decided to flash back to 0056, after that the second LAN port was displayed and working again under Windows.

Now i had to change the BIOS settings since i use a LCD connected via LVDS port. So i setup LVDS to the prior and working settings, exit via F10, but the PC

did not boot anymore.

It only gives the 3 beep memory error. It looks like this is a very common failure, because there are many postings here in the community.

I have tried all the tricks and hints, changed memory modules, CPU, powersupply, removed WLAN card as well. but nothing helps.

Another recovery is no longer possible because obviously no USB port is addressed.

Now i wonder if there is a secret function to get the board working again.

There are so many postings about that problem, but there is no solution.

I know that the DQ77KB motherboard is under the End of Interactive Support, but maybe another user have found a solution to this problem.

From my view, the only possibilty is to flash the two BIOS chips in a external programer. But here is the next trap, the BIOS is splitted in two pieces.

Since the offered BIOS update is only one file, for me it is hard to see which part of the firmware is in which eeprom. So only a dump of the 2 eeproms

will lead to the goal.

Maybe any one could provide a dump or a how to, to get things done.

DQ67EP question

Does anyone know if the DQ67EP's secure boot works with Windows 10?  I know the DH61DL's don't (it can be enabled in the BIOS but msinfo32 says Secure Boot State = No).

Thanks.

DH61DL question

The DH61DL motherboard says after a certain BIOS revision that it will work with Ivy Bridge processors.  All of the ones we have are using the latest BIOS (version 120, the latest from Intel's site).  If I put an i3-3220 in one of these motherboards with DDR3-1600 RAM will the board use the memory at the faster speed or will it still limit it to DDR3-1333 speeds?
