DH61AG not detecting mini pcie cards after bios update

$

Hello there

I recently purchased a DH61AG motherboard. I chose it mainly because of the 2 mini pcie slots on the board. It has an I3 3225 cpu and 8g of ram. I believe it was on bios revision 44 when I bought it. The mini pcie slots are populated with an intel 6235 wifi card and an avermedia a317 tv tuner card. All was working well until I upgraded to the A106 bios. At this point my tuner card was no longer detected. Thinking that the problem was with the tuner card I purchased a new one, Habey hb-mat5070. When I installed this card it also was not detected. I installed both tuners in an older laptop I have and both cards were detected and worked fine. This leads me to believe that (A) the bios has caused a problem with my board, (B) defective board. I have seen other posts about the A106 bios messing up the pcie slot so I guess I am probably in the same boat. Is there any workaround to downgrade the bios back to the 44 revision. Can we expect a fix to this anytime soon, or should I just RMA the board to get a replacement with a downgraded bios. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx

Craig

Hello!

Im upgrading my pc and I have questions.

PC usage: Win 7 home pro 64bit, Visual Studio 2010, 3DS max 2012 (lerning), from time to time I play games, watch b-ray movies...

Im consideringthe purchase of:

Intel MB: DX79SR

CPU: Intel Core I7 3820

(now im using sli mode of 2x evga gtx280 - not likely to changethem now, 2x seagate 750GB, sb x-fi fatal1ty, thermaltake 1000W psu)

Q1: Which MEMORY should I buy / use ? (kingstone hyper-x...?) and how much (8/16/32 gb?)

Q2: Should I consider of buying SSD to speed up HDDs ? (If yes - which one will be good form intel, and what size?)

Q3: I will not use any of overclock feautures, Im interested in: stability, reliability, long-life, performance. Should I buy another main board or cpu ?

Will the DZ68BC work with a GTX 770 Video Card ?

Asking this question since i have read where folks have been having issues with the latest Nvidia GTX cards like the GTX 780 and the 770 not being compatible with various Intel Motherboards. I have no intentions of updating the motherboard to the latest Intel Bios since folks are also complaining about that being a problem.

The below are my specs and i want to upgrade the present Nvidia 560ti which working fine to the EVGA GTX 770.

Case: CM Storm Enforcer Midtower/ USB3.0

CPU : i7-2600K

Mobo: Intel DZ68BC Extreme

Ram : Corsair Vengeance pc1600/ 16gb

HDD: SSD 120GB Intel 520 series & 1.5 TB WD Caviar Black

Pwr.Supply: Rosewill Capstone 650watt Gold Rated 80+

CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212 EVO

Have upgraded this board to the latest Bios version but now I cannot enter bios with the F2 key.  Before upgrading I managed, but with a little difficulty as it did not work on every attempt, but after the upgrade, nothing.  I have to use the back to bios button on the back.

Anybody having the same issues?

DX79SR - Rear USB 3.0 Ports Not Working - What is the fix?

In Device Manager, the Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller that pertains to the rear USB 3.0 ports has a yellow warning sign with an exclamation character in the middle and the status of the device is "This device cannot start (Code 10)". I have tried to disable and re-enable the device, uninstall and reinstall the driver to no avail. I have the latest BIOS and Renesas driver versions which I downloaded and installed from the Intel download site. The BIOS version is SIX7910J.86A.0553.EB and the Renesas version is 3.0.12.0. Does anyone else experience this same issue? Does anyone have a fix for it?

Why does DQ77MK SMBIOS have same Type Instance = 1 for both Ethernets?

Both onboard Ethernets on the DQ77MK seem to have the same type instance number. This seems to cause problems with Linux biosdevname making it think there are duplicate bios names for the ethernet devices and fails to return a valid name. Anyone else run into this problem? I'm trying to qualify a new board for production with BIOS 054 and did not see any reference in release notes for subsequent BIOS updates that changes this data.

DX79SI Not booting to OS. Post error on screen shows 0_

Hi Gurus,

We had integrated a system with Intel DX79SI, Intel 3960X, 4x8GB RAM, Asus HD7970 DC2T-3GD5 GPU, Adaptec 6405 RAID Controller, 4 SAS Drives, DVD RW, 1000W Cooler Master PSU etc. On Powering up the system, the POST screen along with system details RAID config etc and freezes with 0_ post error on screen. The On board Diagnostic LED show 00. But system does not boot to OS. The display shows 0_ on right bottom. The same graphic card and other components are functional with Asus Rampage iv extreme. The BIOS ver is 553.

Kindly advice and help to find a solution.

Thanks in advance.

Intel DX79SR and HD7970 - PC won't startup

$

Hi there,

I have some trouble with a newly bought HIS Radeon HD 7970 X2 GHz Edition on an Intel DX79SR Board.

My specs:

Intel I7 3820 @ Default clock

Intel DX79SR Board

16 GB Samsung Green DDR3 (2x 8 GB Kit); Running at 1600 MHz (8-8-8-24)

Adaptec Raid Card 6405E with 2 Samsung HE103SJ 1 TB Drives (RAID 0)

ASUS Xonar D2 PCI Sound Card

Plextor M5 Pro SSD 128 GB

Windows 8 Pro x64

currently:

EVGA Geforce GTX 670 FTW Edition 2 GB

In this configuration the PC runs well, but with a small issue at the boot Screen ("Press F2" etc.) where it hangs up for a while (mainly 10-15 seconds) at code 5A (that occured first after updating the BIOS to vers. 553 from delivery state, which was 537 though) which seems to adhere with the RAID Card because an uninstallation of the Card gets me a fast boot :-).

Passing that point there are no further Problems.

Now starts the fun with the HD 7970...

GTX 670 drivers and card uninstalled, HD 7970 installed... PC started... BIOS screen appeared "Press F2" ect., Screen goes black (and i can't even see RAID BIOS beyond this point) and last post code at the bottom of the right side shows "0_" ... Dunno the meaning of that because the BIOS post on the board itself shows "00" which means everythings ok, I suppose...

Interestingly I can enter the BIOS of the Mainboard where I've seen that the HD7970 starts at 8 GT/s (GTX670 at 2,5 GT/s, powers up in Windows)... Don't know if this relevant...

Funny thing is, I can hear the Windows 8 startup ect. in the background, but the black screen won't refresh and stays at 0_ ...

The problem seems similar to this one http://communities.intel.com/thread/33972 ... but since there comes no further answers I'll start here this new thread... Hope you can forgive me that...

Maybe someone has a clue which is causing this issue...

Many thanks for your support in advance...

Greetings

Edit 04/03/2013:

Did some more testing with an old X38 platform...

My 750 Watt PSU seems to be ok as the HD7970 works as it should... means:

Shows me bios, shows me windows...

Why not on X79??? xD Quite annoying...

But I've found out some more about the DX79SR too...

I have tested the raid card in every else of the x16 Slots above the x1 Slot (which should be running over the CPU and not over the chipset as the x1 slot...) but the PC won't boot up... stucks at POST 26 o. e. and no pictures shows up... not even the BIOS enter screen...

It's curious...

Any explanation?

Or is it just incompatibility?

DZ87KLT-75k Thunderbolt - Display

Can I use the Thunderbolt port on the subject board as a 'Display Port' out?

ie - My Dell U3011 has a display port input.  Can I simply run a 'Mini DP" to "DP" cable direct from the board to the monitor?

Thanks

Any help on the DX58S02 mobo and the skull/eyes light problem would be fantastic! I do not know how to get it to work.

One last issue...Shut down is very slow.

My start up is good on time, but my shut down takes a VERY long time or does not ever shut down and I get a "Windows did not shut down properly" prompt when I use the comp. again. Why the long shut down? If something is running in the background I am not aware of it. Or I would not know why something would not shut down/close and then cause the huge lag? Where do I need to look into the fix this?

With bios 044 (and older) the CIR receiver from Inteset was working.

After update to 099 and 104 the device is visible in Windows/Linux but no events are received. The same with version 105.

Bios defaults are already loaded and the ir option is enabled.

My board revision is G23736-400.

Desktop Board DX79TO 2 USB 3.0 Rear ports keep giving problems even after installing the fix

Hi,

I recently build a Windows 8 Pro x64 PC Based on the Intel Desktop Board DX79TO, but even after installing the available fix for the 2 USB 3.0 ports at the rear of the PC i keep getting the same problems as before.

The ports work like they should, except that I keep getting the same problem at start-up everytime there is a device still attached to the port.

  • "System hangs on POST code 58 for one minute if any device is attached to USB 3.0 ports, and then continues the boot process."

Even though start-up from USB is placed UNDER those of the internal HDD's in the boot sequence.

Does anyone know how to fix this, or is someone familiar with the problem at all?

Would be nice if I shouldn't have to disconnect my 3TB Mybook 3.0 everytime I want to boot my pc...

Many Thanks

Sven

After updating to 0110 on a DH77KC, wake on USB (ie mouse) or PS2 (ie keyboard) no longer work, even though both are still set as enabled in BIOS.

Anyone else experience this?  Previous version was 0108 and both worked as expected.

Who can help me?

Install Windows 7 on Intel SDD connected to PCIeMiniCard (Intel MB also).

Hi all,

I´m getting crazy!! I´ve tried everything without success and have being searching on the web for a solution without success.

Last weekk I bought an Intel Board (Intel® Desktop Board DH87RL) and Intel SSD (Intel® Solid-State Drive 525 Series). I plugged everything, started computer and great! It works! BIOS recognizes the mSATA SSD and I was happy . Next step was to install Windows7 from a USB stick. Everything works fine, it boots from USB, starts Windows and when I select the drive to install Windows on it I see the following:

"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu".

I´ve tried to format it, to create a volume, to give attributes... but nothing works. Windows7 installation thinks that the SSD is not a boot disk and can not install windows on it. What I´m doing wrong? Is my hardware compatible with this? Do I need to add some drivers to the installation?

Many thanks in advance!

New DZ87KLT-75K gives red "Power Supervisor LED" when booting and shutting down

$

My new DZ87KLT-75K has difficulty turning on. When my machine is off the red "Power Supervisor LED" is lit constantly. When I turn on my machine, I get prompted with a message telling me that the Intel Power Supervisor has detected a "Catastrophic Power Event." If I press a key at this message, the Power Supervisor LED turns off and the machine usually proceeds to POST and boot to Windows 7. Sometimes instead of booting I instead get the red Power Supervisor LED combined with the memory error beep code (three beeps, repeat). When this happens the machine turns itself off automatically. Once booted to Windows the machine seems stable with good thermals and game performance. The power supervisor LED stays off when Windows is running.

My first thought was the power supply. I have tried two Corsair AX860i PSUs so far. I RMAed the first one because I figured if the power supervisor LED is lit then it must be a problem with the PSU.  Today I got another of the same exact model, but the above symptoms persist. Corsair's website insists that this model is compatible with Haswell.

A separate but possibly related problem is that I seem unable to update the BIOS on the motherboard. I tried twice. Both times the machine shut itself off and went into BIOS recovery mode. I suspect this power problem is to blame.

Here are my full specs:

Core i7-4770K

DZ87KLT-75K

32 GB (8GB per DIMM) of Dual Channel Corsair "CMY32GX3M4A2133C11"

Nvidia Geforce GTX 780

Samsung 256GB SSD

Western Digital 2TB HDD

Corsair AX860i PSU 860 Watts

Do you think it is safe to use this machine until I get a fix for this? Could using it damage the components?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
